There's a rumour running around that Xavier Samuels (Riley in Eclipse) might be playing Simon. He's cute! :) Not very Simon though

Exactly. Simon is meant to be hot. The girl in Java Joes asks Clary if he's single, Izzy likes him, Maia likes him...he's a catch! :)

i'm a little disappointed by the rumored casting for simon. he's my favorite character in the series, and Xavier Samuels looks nothing like him! shame. :(oh well, i'm sure it'll still be amazing. it is based on the mortal instruments books after all :D

But Simon is adorable, Xavier is adorable...in all honesty, I don't think it will be him, but if it is, I;ll be supportive. I love my Simon! :D
I would fully support Xavier as long as they dye his hair a little darker. He's not how I pictured Simon, but he's easy on the eyes. Simon is supposed to be attractive (just in quirky, almost sloppy way).
Xavier Samuels is adorable, but I can't see him as Simon.
I don't see Xavier Samuels as Simon sure he's good looking but not in that dorky, cute, I'm in a band, really nice best friend kid of way. He'd make a better sebastion I think. Maybe if they dork him up a bit :p
I think Devon bostick should play Simon! I see him playing the part perfectly. he is cute and looks a little nerdy and like he could be in a band, but he wool definitely be able to be superhot when he turns into a vampire! hopefully he is cast for the role.. cause Xavier samuels and Logan don't really look like good characters for Simon in my opinion. cause Simon has to be hot but not as hot as jace.. and is supposed to be cuter in like a sloppy way and Devon bostick could totally do that!

i really think logan lerman should be cast at Simon.
I think he's too famous to take the role. He's the leading man in three new films, and Simon, much as I love him, is more of a secondary character, particularly in the first book. I prefer Carter Jenkins and David Henrie personally, but to each their own :)

Logan Lerman won't take a supporting role, I think, especially since in COB Simon doesn't have a massive role.
I think Logan would be perfect. Simon IS a supporting role but hes very important to the story. [ not to purposely compare it to twilight] But Jacob didnt have a huge part in the first movie, but as the movies progress, there was more and more screen time for Taylor. I mean, he had huge parts in NM, and if Logan is cast as Simon, then he will have a bigger part in CoG

HE DID?!?!?! I love him too :) He should've gotten Jace... He's at least a little closer to the age than Jamie. I am not a Jamie shipper o.O
I can see David Henrie as Alec, though... He can pull off the broody thing. He can also overplay it and get away with being Magnus, but Magnus is special >.< I really like Shannon Kook-Chun for Magnus. He even looks crazy!
And as for Double L playing Simon, I think he'd be good. And Simon has a huge role from City of Ashes onwards. It's just in City of Bones that he's a bit of a wallflower.

They won't cast him. He;s too associated with Twilight and they want TMI to be its own brand. Can that Matt guy act? There was one pic of him that was very Simon, daylighter style.
