Krista (findyourshimmy) I happened across Hex this weekend at a local video rental place. It's a show from BBC about a young girl finding her sexuality while also learning she has magical powers.

There are nephilum (sp?) and seraphim (sp?), ghosts, total butt-kickers, and a dreamy demon who plays the love interest.

I watched the entire first season and am completely drooling for more. Anyone heard of it? Know of books that would be similar? Know if there is another season (the website just states it's currently not showing)?

Heather (smileyhair) I watched it as well and loved it! I believe there were only 2 seasons, and since it didnt get picked up for a 3rd season it ended rather abruptly! I loved it when it was on though! ;)

My best friend watched it and loved it, but I haven't had a chance yet. I'm going to have to check it out now. :)

Krista (findyourshimmy) I'm bummed to hear it didn't get picked up for a third season. Bummer!

message 5: by Candie (new)

Candie (candiegyrl) Season 1 of Hex is one of my all time favorite shows. I didn't like the directon season 2 took and and I felt that the plot in season 1 was rushed. I wish the writers had let things slowly develop instead of cramming crazy plot twists in the few episodes we had. The cast/set/music was AWESOME. Good TV is so hard to find!

Erin (wwwgoodreadscomgenregirl) Agreed - season one is great, but the twist leading into season two totally turned me off.

Skye (skye_elysia) | 2 comments I completely agree. And the fact that Azazeal was missing for almost all of season two made me die a little inside. >_>

Krista (findyourshimmy) ****SPOILER ALERT****

Did the main girl with the blond hair (whose name I can't remember at the moment) ever come back?

message 9: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) Can anyone suggest books with the same "feeling" and such?

Cassandra | 49 comments SPOILER ALERT

Cassie's spirit comes back in one episode to help Thelma save Ella. I will warn you also, when I found out how the series ended, I stopped watching with about 2-3 episodes left. Now that I know the show was canceled, it makes more sense that it ended without resolution and I'm glad I didn't bother watching the end.

And what was the point of season two with no Azazeal!!!

message 11: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) Hmm...sounds like I shouldn't be pining away for season two on video. Perhaps I should just live with the dreams created from season one.

Skye (skye_elysia) | 2 comments Oh my gosh, I was SO s/mad they weren't able to conclude the story.

I mean, I really didn't like the turn the show took at all. Ella's character went way OUT of character, or at least what we were led to believe she was supposed to be like. And Malachi just irked me as soon as he was a teenager. And, as I said before, the serious lack of Azazeal made it difficult to watch. I also was irritated with the amount of screen time Roxanne ended up having. And toward the end, Thelma was really starting to bother me -- which I found surprising.

All of that (and more) aside, I would have at least like to have been given a conclusion. *ends rant and cries*
