Polygamy is a mormon practice, where you have more than one wife...only to have more babies...
Its hard to explain. Its along the lines of socialism. Like you say someting is for the greater good but the person is usingit for their personal gain
I think its wrong, but if you really LOVE the people, who says you cant marry both? Now, if its just to support the generation of wwhatever religion you are to take your place and make babies, which most of the time it is, then yeah...wrong...
Personally, its not THAT big of a deal....

people dont think that way...its to make sure that *insert your religion here* have another generation to take over and spread...
Socialism is when everyone is forced to work for the "good of man" it normally involves some sort of brainwashing (like hitler did). No one can b special or value anyone or anything higher than anyone or anything. The soviet union was a socialistic country

Communism is a social and political system.
People can be special in a Communist society, but they put the needs of their fellows before their own. No one can be of a higher rank than any other, there is no one leader in pure Communism.

The Bible says no such thing. There were many who practiced polygamy but God never advocates it, in fact He says not to do it. Deuteronomy 17:14-17
14"When you come to the land that the LORD your God is giving you, and you possess it and dwell in it and then say, 'I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me,' 15you may indeed set a king over you whom the LORD your God will choose. One from among your brothers you shall set as king over you. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. 16Only he must not acquire many horses for himself or cause the people to return to Egypt in order to acquire many horses, since the LORD has said to you, 'You shall never return that way again.' 17And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold.

You'll note that the text says (and mind you, this is only a requirement for the king and not for the people in general) "and he shall not acquire many wives for himself." Seems to me if the intent was monogamy, it would have said "and he sall not acquire more than one wife for himself." Furthermore, David was a "man after god's own heart" and had multiple wives, and there are laws that require that the first wife's upkeep not be diminished when you take a second wife. Was polygamy a requirement? No. Was it accepted and approved of? Afraid so.
The grace of God is what makes David a man after God's own heart. Look what happened to Solomon, David's son, as a result of the poor example of his father in the way of wives!
1Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women, 2from the nations concerning which the LORD had said to the people of Israel, "You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods." Solomon clung to these in love. 3He had 700 wives, princesses, and 300 concubines. And his wives turned away his heart. 4For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. 5For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 6So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and did not wholly follow the LORD, as David his father had done. 7Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain east of Jerusalem. 8And so he did for all his foreign wives, who made offerings and sacrificed to their gods.
Whether God accepted and approved of it is a matter of record in this way. God may forgive our sins, but we have to live with the consequences we have brought onto ourselves. David's consequence was shown in the rebellion of Absolom. Solomon's consequences were God's anger.
9And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice 10and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods. But he did not keep what the LORD commanded.
(Both of the quotes are from 1 Kings 11)

There is a major part of Biblical interpretation which you are missing:
Narrative is NOT normative. In other words, just because the Bible says that somebody murders somebody else doesn't mean that murder is okay.
Let me give you another illustration:
Here is a story from the Bible:
Acts 5:1-10:
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.” Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.
Now, just because God struck two people dead for lying to Him, does not mean everybody is going to be struck dead if they lie.
Similarly, just becuase polygamy is in the Bible (eg Solomon) does NOT mean we should do it, or that God thinks that it is morally justifiable!
