Randi (shecantcomplain) | 18 comments Ok, it's been a long time, I'm thinking mid- to late-90s since I read this. I just remember that some rogue magicians were working magic without thought to what it was doing to things like the weather, and so an individual or small group (it eventually became a small group) were determined to stop those magicians and fix everything.
There was also a girl who'd been tampered with by one of the rogue magicians; she'd been kinda made into a literal catwoman. She had ears, whiskers, short and soft fur, and a tail. They go into a town near the end of the book disguised as entertainers and (since she stands out so much anyway) used makeup to make her look even more cat-like rather than try to make her look normal.

Deborah | 179 comments I agree. These are definitely the books (trilogies) you're looking for. The cat woman is not a MAIN character in the books but a big sub story. I would look at the book summary in Wikipedia. While it only specifies her father, Nyara has been altered.

Randi (shecantcomplain) | 18 comments Thank you! Those are definitely the ones. I know she wasn't a main character, but that sort of thing really sticks out to a kid.

Thanks again!
