Hehe, I didn't mean 'manly'. I meant angels being all powerful warriors of heaven, not just boyfriends. :P

Then you have to read "One kiss before the Apocalypse" Remy is definitely an all "powerful warrior of heaven" and kicks some butt when he gets his angel on!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments I read A Hundred Words for Hate, and you are so right, Colleen!

Danielle, can you think of any other books with angels that portray the angel as more "powerful warrior of heaven" rather than a boyfriend? Most of the books I've found are more romantic in nature. I'm having a hard time thinking of other books for Sammy.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments Hmm. If you want to be scared out of you mind, the second Simon Green Nightside book has fearsome angels: Agents of Light and Darkness. I'll check my angel shelf and get back to you.

I'll look into it then. I also found this The Fall of Lucifer which looks interesting.

EDIT: Except for the part where angels ride horses. Why the hell would an angel need to ride a horse?!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments The Devil's Kiss has some prettty interesting angelic elements. This one was pretty scary in some parts too.

I put the fall of Lucifer on our bookshelf and LOL you're right why would an angel need to ride a horse?

I put The devil's kiss on our bookshelf, I wasn't sure how to categorize it, I just put it under angels.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments That's probably a good start. I don't want to get into any spoilers.

Sniegoski is one of my fav authors too. I hadn't really read anything besides his Remy Chandler series before I picked up Fallen, but now I'm going to have to check out some of his other stuff.
Very cool having a signed copy of the book :)

Colleen-I hear you about having to wait a year for the next book! Another author that I really like takes about a year to come out with the next book in the series. She's not an angel author, but I love her books - Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series is awesome if you like bad ass vamp hunters.

Hi Everyone,

Let me do you all a big favor and tell you now to put on your bookshelves a couple books filed under to read.

The series is written by Kevin Hearne and its the Iron Druid series. The first book in the series is called
Hounded Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne There are no angels in this book

but...

The second book in the series does have a fallen angel in it its called Hexed Hexed (Iron Druid Chronicles, #2) by Kevin Hearne
I can not stress enough how AWESOME these books are!

Check them out :)

Amy Hi everyone! Stumbled upon this group and I'm super excited to get some good reads.

I've read the Fallen series, the Hush Hush series, Halo and loved them all. Halo wasn't up to par with Fallen but still a good read. For those of you who like a little more biblical and historical reference, Angelology is wonderful. More religious as the main character is a nun but very good. I just finished Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly. This edition is the US edition, also named Angel (which it the UK verison). This was the first time I read an angel story where the angels are the bad guys, so that was definitely different. I also read Clockwork Angel but just didnt' really enjoy it.

Richard Farnsworth | 13 comments At the risk of self-promoting, my novel features a very flawed fallen angel.
Succumbing to Gravity by Richard Farnsworth Succumbing to Gravity

Succumbing to Gravity is the story of Greg, an angel cast out from heaven, cursed to live among mortals. In an attempt to forget his sins, he descends into the self destructive world of heroin addiction. Loosely based on the book of Enoch, a very different take on the fallen angel than what we see in Hus, the Fallen, etc.

Thanks Rick for letting us know about your book. We want you to self promote here, it makes it easier for us to find new books. I will add your book to our bookshelf and would it be ok for me to set up a Q&A discussion link for you under our authors corner? That way when our members ask you questions in that discussion link, you will be notified by email.

message 75: by Chris (new)

Chris Hackett | 5 comments I recently read a decent angel book called Crossroads. You can read my review of it for a better view of what I think but I enjoyed it.

Alternatively, you can check out my angel fiction: The Observer. I have a very different view/twist on angels (and an angel falling) in it, and the result is more sci-fi than fantasy.

Dragonflydreamer68 I found this one on-line, I dont know anything about the author or if the book is any good. Angelfire (Angelfire, #1) by Courtney Allison Moulton

message 79: by Amy (new)

Amy Me too Emily. I like the idea that vampires are actually fallen angels.

I have Angelfire on my to be read list. A few people I know have read it and said it was a great book!

Jennifer | 3 comments Colleen wrote: "Who wrote "The Fallen: Azazel"? Was this one of Sniegoski's books?"

There has only been one book that I've read so far that has the character Azazel and that was a book in The Fallen Series by Kristina Douglas. The first book in the series is Raziel Raziel (The Fallen, #1) by Kristina Douglas and the second is The Fallen:Demon The Fallen Demon (The Fallen, #2) by Kristina Douglas which has Azazel as the main character. Both were amazing and I hope that Kristina continues the series.
