Have you read any good books about fallen angels?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments I read A Hundred Words for Hate and The Fallen: Raziel in the same couple of weeks. Loved them both.

Hush, Hush
Angel Star

T.C. McKee | 1 comments I've read Hush,Hush, and Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick. Loved them both. I then moved onto Fallen, and Torment by Lauren Kate. Just got the third book, Passion. I've been waiting for it to be released. And I just recently read Unearthly. I have not been disappointed by any of these books. In fact, I've been intrigued. I love the biblical elements that send a shiver up your spine while you're reading them. The authors have definitely done their homework. Right now I'm reading City of Fallen Angels, the last of the Mortal Instruments series from Clare. Wow. Wow. And Wow. There's not a whole lot of angel business but its all in relation. Highly recommend it.

Thanks for the links. Angel star is new to me as well as angel. I'll add them.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments I read City of Bones, and that's very good. I also have Fallen to read.

Has anyone read Halo?

I loved Hush Hush and Fallen! I've read Halo and I really liked it even though there is mixed reviews on that book.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ I've bought these for my kindle app on my computer earlier this year. I haven't read these yet so I'm not totally sure if these are about fallen angels or angels:

Falling From Grace (Grace, #1) by S.L. Naeole Bird Song (Grace, #2) by S.L. Naeole Black Halo (Grace, #3) by S.L. Naeole Grace of Day (Grace, #4) by S.L. Naeole

and this too...

Fallen by Laury Falter

NO problem Amy, I'll look them up and classify them on the bookshelf accordingly. Thanks for the info.

I'm helping out Sarah at smartbitches and I picked this one-I'm not regretting it. I'm not normally a fan of the angels or fallen angels, but this one rocks! so as long as the ending delivers, I'll be a happy camper

message 21: by David (new)

David Maine | 2 comments I hate to be "that guy"... but the definitive Fallen Angel book is -- wait for it -- John Milton's Paradise Lost, no? I mean, it's been a while since I read it (okay, college, +/- 30 years ago), but as I recall, it just smoked! It's not like Shakespeare, the language is far more accessible than that. And Milton just has waaay tou much fun describing Satan and Hell and all the battles etc..

Paradise Regained, erm, not so much...

David, I know you are an author who has written biblical fiction, does any of your books have angels in it? If so...which ones? And/or will you be writing any books with angels in it?

message 24: by David (new)

David Maine | 2 comments Hi Colleen,

Well, THE BOOK OF SAMSON has a scene where an angel appears to Samson'a parents and tells them what's what with their as-yet-unborn child. (This is from Judges btw.) But the whole book is skewed, as it's told from Sam's POV and he's about as unreliable a narrator as you can get... Still, it's a fairly pivotal scene as it has a lot to do with his self-image, which is central to the action of the story.

There are mentions of angels in THE PRESERVATIONIST but they're fleeting--Noah sees them while in a semi-delusional fever. I can't think of any mention at all in FALLEN, which is my Adam/Eve/Cain/Abel book.

Scarlet Black | 23 comments Colleen wrote: "Have you read any good books about fallen angels?"

"Salem Moon" by Scarlet Black. Look it up on this site. The reviews have been great and you won't be disappointed in the evil, yet beautifully seductive Fallen Angel, Lucien. This is book one of two. The second book:Salem Moon: The Fallen and the Pure is due out in November. It is a work in progress!
Best,

Deb

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments Susan, I loved The Darkest Passion. The angel part was one of my favorite elements. Just to be clear, the angel is the heroine. But she's a sweetie.

Also another story in the series has an angel, male:

The Fallen Angels series by J.R. Ward is awesome. Covet is the first book and Crave is the second one. The third one comes out in September, I think. That one is Envy.
Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward

Rachael (rachaelt) | 8 comments Hey everyone, I am just getting into reading about Angels/Fallen Angels/etc.

I've read:
Fallen
Hush, Hush
The Fetch
Kissed by an Angel (Kissed by an Angel, #1,2 &3
I Heart You, You Haunt Me
Crescendo
I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I typically like a complicated love story, and some biblical reference/historical stories/and others. I am interested in reading:
The Book of Samson
Torment
But are there any others you'd think will fit this description? It will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rachael,
I've read [book:Halo
and it was really good. I would suggest Sniegoski's Remy Chandler series. The first book is called "A kiss before the Apocalypse.
A Kiss Before the Apocalypse (Remy Chandler, #1) by Thomas E. Sniegoski.

Thanks for the other recommendations. I add the new ones on our bookshelf.

message 40: by Nyla (new)

Nyla Hi everyone :) I'm Nyla. The mythology around the Nephilim has always fascinated me, but for the most part I'm new to angel books. Looking forward to some cool recommendations!

message 41: by Nyla (new)

Nyla I just read Angelfall by Susan Ee Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, Book 1) by Susan Ee which is what inspired me to join this group! It's the first book in a series with an apocalyptic twist. There's a young adult feel, but it's darker/edgier. Now I'm hooked on those tortured, fallen angels and looking for more...

Sarah Spiteri (sarahspiteri) | 1 comments Hey, I've just finished reading the 4 Mortal Instruments books by Cassandra Clare that are out and can't wait for the next two. Best. Series. Ever. Also, I've read Fallen, Torment and Passion by Lauren Kate. For anyone who is reading, or is about to read Passion... don't bother. It's a bit of a disappointment. I've read Halo by Alexandra Adornetto too and I thought it was good though a bit Twilight-ish. I'm about to buy Hush-Hush, which I read a bit of last year and now decided I would read the series and I'm reading Clockwork Angel... the prequel to The Mortal Instruments. I think I have a new obsession...

Angelfall sounds interesting and of course, Paradise Lost will always be amazing.

Castiel will always be my fav Angel tho. :P

Sammy, also try Sniegoski's book, "One kiss before the apocalypse", Remy is a petty "manly" angel.

HI Dory,

I just finished reading the first book of Fallen (by Sniegoski) a couple weeks ago. Although I love Sniegnoski's work I think one thing that spoiled the book (a little bit) for me a little was that I watched the ABC series first. They "prettied" up the ending and I liked the ending of the ABC series but not the ending of the book itself. This is yet another reminder for me to NEVER watch the movie before reading the book.
