Books For Potential Group Discussion Archived 2019

Glad I could help out, Sylvia!

For whatever it's worth, if you want to discuss something that's of a "spoilerish" nature,..."
Oh hello Werner , lovely to hear from you! Are you reading along with us- that would be nice
Yes we know about the spoiler embedding, thank you for reminding us though .

Alas, no; I'm already committed (since early this year) to take part in a May common read in another group. (That's a one-time read, not an annual one as I participate in with several of my groups.) But thanks for the invitation!

We’ve discussed The Old Priory in 2012. Also The King’s Pleasure in 2015. I just read through that discussion and it’s pretty good. Won’t brag on TOP since I led that one. But anyway, that doesn’t mean we can’t do new discussions.

You might have missed out on Copsi Castle because NL didn't write it under her own name. She used the pen name Juliet Astley.

You might have missed out o..."
Thanks Werner -- that explains missing Copsi Castle.

I'm in a common read in another group right now, and Aug.-Nov. is the season for annual common reads in several of my groups. So that tends to tie me up until sometime in November; but I'll be an interested lurker, as usual. :-)

Tanya and Karyl said
Tanya Mendonsa | "How about " The Old Priory " as the next group read ? It's short, but packed with juicy characters, and action ! "
To which Karyl replied "Yes, Old Priory"
I like Old Priory and think it would be a good one . As Peggy said, we did it in 2012 with her leading but if everyone is ready to do it again , no problems.

So I toss these two into the mix......

Hmm interesting , thank Werner , I do actually remember discussing C of A, but not formally and like you couldn't make it come up in a search.
So given C of A was not that long ago , I'll just keep Michael And All Angels ( Golden Fleece ) to stand as a suggestion then.

I have Lover's All Untrue and see you did a group read last year so I can just comment there.
I also have A Rose for Virtue and didn't see a thread: anyone want to read it with me? not right away but in the next few months?
I have been cutting back on other internet places (like facebook) so I have more time to read!
I discovered in the Mary Stewart group I really enjoy a buddy/group read at a slower pace.

My suggestion was Michael and All Angels ( aka The Golden Fleece) Any takers?

does anyone want to start soon?

A book in another group Jackie ? We haven't started anything new here.

sorry!

Looking through the latest posts it seems like ARFV has some interest so should we start reading ? Who would like to lead ? I am thinking ( hoping) Peggy might like to.
PS, I see there are lots of positive comments about ARFV (and on NL generally too ) on Goodreads. None of them are members of this group , so it would be lovely if some of them joined !

Above is another contender ,from Tanya. TSAFL is one of my absolute favourites too so I am always happy to discuss it again. We last did so in 2013.

No problems Jackie , do not worry .

Oh yes. And I take that as a vote for TSAFL . Jackie would you be OK with this?

It is true we have not ever discussed it (tho I have to take umbrage at the suggestion TSAFL is short on depth Peggy, lol! It may not be plot driven but to me contains some of the very best character development)
Anyway be that as it may- onward to The Rose.!!

Barbara, I for one, am very comfortable with your current pace. I just hope you all don't mind if I sometimes retrogress on some happening that we passed over, and I, being a slow reader now, was impressed with it enough to comment.
