Me: Deus ex Machina--an implausible miracle that saves the characters at the last minute. If Raven suddenly realized what was going on and left, that would be a Deus ex Machina.

I think it depends, though, on what would exactly hurt Rosemarie. What Raven is starting to think about now isn't beating her up, just (view spoiler)[really, really rough sex. (hide spoiler)] In her state of mind, I don't think it would shatter them again. I don't even think it would add a crack to the relationship at all. With Rosie as happy as she is, I think she would attribute it to Raven having held out on her the other times they got intimate--maybe she'd even look back on it and not remember that he was acting oddly (roughly) at all. Your thoughts?

I don't think that would hurt her at all. She wouldn't think much of it, really. She's so eager she's not really thinking of anything at this point other than that. She'd probably just be thrilled. I'm thinking things that would hurt her would be her obliviously making the wrong move and all that darkness he has goes in the wrong direction and he hurts her physically again. Or, as you said earlier, he actually tells her how he's feeling and how he still doesn't totally trust her. But he'll only say that if we don't get them fixed quickly enough so for right now I'm worried about the first thing.

Me: Good. Because if I were to be perfectly honest, I think it might actually help Raven, in an odd way. He would be working a lot of things out of his system if Rosemarie didn't resist, including his mistrust and anger towards her.

Me: No, that's actually not odd, strangely enough because Raven's got a lot of bad things built up and exercise is said to help relieve those things and more aggressive exercise would help get rid of the anger and such. So I guess it makes sense.

So my attempt at sleep was an absolute miserable failure. I am operating on approximately one and a half hours of rest, and I can't fall asleep and take a nap.
