Me: I think Cat and Calix would be an interesting two to put together. Because they're strangers, Cat doesn't have any reason to avoid him, which means she's fairly obliged to talk with him and at least try to put on some façade of normalcy.

Umm, well I'm bringing back my psycho twins so they're up for grabs too c:

Me: Harper comes to work at the asylum as a volunteer, because she wants to become a nurse when she gets older. She works at the asylum mostly because she feels more accepted among the insane than she does among the normal. After all, no one in St. Peter's is in any place to judge her for her deafness, because everyone has their own problems.

Me: Fellow volunteer, we agreed. We said it would be fun if they actually were a sort of duo and, instead of treating the patients like they're in some freak show exhibit, treating them like actual people with actual feelings. To kind of cull some of the negative bias that everyone has to the outside world, you know. That kind of thing.
