Lol that was quite funny! I'm only on Obsidian Butterfly (and not going much further) and a lot of them apply even now.

That was hilarious. She forgot one - Drink when Anita talks about "the power" (Not sure if she is still using that phrase. I quit at book 6).
Lord! How depressingly true! Years ago I would recommend this series to everyone b/c vintage Anita really was awesome. In fact, since I just read the first Mercy book the other day, I can say they were very similar and Mercy is still getting great reviews. Anita? Her reviews are just painful.I picked up Hit List at the library only b/c someone said that it actually showed signs of improvement over the last few books. (This would not take a lot though.) The really painful part is that I am going to read Flirt and Bullet again to refresh my memory. The comment...

...is basically gospel in its truth. I don't know why I'm doing it. I think Anita has turned into some version of a whacked out, druggie friend, who I keep staging interventions for and she keeps hitting rock bottom. She is totally screwed up and delusional, but I keep sticking by her side out of misplaced loyalty.
Ditto! I made a comment once before to this effect: Remember when Anita raised the dead in a cemetary and not in her bed. LOL.They were all funny (in a sad sort of way), but this one made me actually laugh out loud:

LOL! I hadn't realised that one but it's true. No woman is allowed to be more attractive or more powerful than Anita. She must "get rid of" the competition.
LMAO! I love the dead/bed comment! And yes, total agreement on the dead woman issue. AB has to be the lone girl everywhere she goes. No competition for her, thank you. Ever wonder if LKH was treated really badly by the 'popular' girls in HS and has fantasies about 'offing' them? I think the AB series is her outlet for that. ;)
Probably. People have been drawing connections between her divorce and Richard's demise into asshole-ry. I wonder if she's been super horny these past few years.
ROFLMAO! If this is the result of her 'female sexual peak' then I must say I am terrified to see what menopause will do to the story. ;)
Ok, I confess I bought Hit List... I keep hoping that it will return to quality of the series beginning, but not with this one... My favorite is this one:* Someone says; "so tight" or "so wet" or "so warm" while they have sex with Anita - 1 drink per term or CHUG! if someone says all three at the same time.

Just reread Flirt to try to 'prep' my brain for Hit List. It didn't improve with time. :(Is it any better? At all? Just a smidge? I know I will read it anyway. (Idiot Dana! You're an idiot!) It's like a train wreck and you have to look.
I'll be taking a gander at that wreck soon...just read Flirt.Plan of attack....stock bar & munchies...find 36 hours off (have to stagger the drinks; the game & the book in 3 to 5 hours would possibly equal a trip to ER for acute alcohol poisoning!)...start reading!

It is a little better since she is away investigating a case and it is more centered around her position as a US Marshall which includes more "TEDward" time. Downside is if you are a JC, Micah, Nathaniel fan, not much of the St. Louis guys in this one. If she neglects Nathaniel in the next one, I'll take him... I need a stripper house husband that cleans house and does the shopping!

LOL this is actually in someone's review of I think hit list on goodreads I liked it last month. I also loved the one that Lis loved. They were all actually pretty funny but you wouldn't make it through any of her later books if you actually played the game you'd be drunk after the first 2 chapters! I agree it is a train wreck syndrome you just have to keep reading even though you know its never going to get better. I want an ending though so I keep reading. I think Hit List was as bad as the last few but she could have made it better.
Don't hold me responsible if Anita's smexin' gets ya wasted. LOL
Alpha Reader @ Blogspot created an Anita Drinking Game. I'm pretty sure someone around here mentioned either how you could make one out those books or had made one.
