I think he didnt want to turn fat like his friend so he left to explore and if you notice was really young so that means he was considered a "Curious Kitten" and was very adventorous.
I think he left for many reasons. (1) when he dreamed, he dreamed of being wild. and that must've come from somewhere. (father was wild-born?) (2) he didn't want to be like Henry, fat, lazy, and not having adventures anymore. (3) he didn't feel WHOLE at his twoleg's home. it was too confined for him.and i don't think for a second that he ever regretted his decision. :)
hope this helps Karen!! ;)

His father WAS wildborn. Firestar's father was Pinestar, who was born in the wild and who died (8 times) in the wild.

He left cause he was feeling old and he was on his last life. ;) he didn't wanna die in short... At least that's what I got... It's in Bluestar's prophecy
Yeah, that's why he left. He had been visiting a human and realized that he couldn't live two lives. Not to mention they totally oppose each other... (the lives)
I think he was sick of his life and wanted to know what other life was out there.....that's my opinion
He left his home with twolegs because he was unsatisfied with his life there, he couldn't stop the dream of living in the wild, and being able to live free. He thought that it was worth leaving his ife to try something new. I wouldn't blame him either, that cat food must be gross!
I think Rusty left his comfy kittypet life because he knew somehow that being a warrior was more than just the game of survival, and that there were more opportunities for him out in the wild. :)
I don't mean to burst anyones bubble, but it said why in Into the Wild. The dreams from StarClan, he was the Fire to save the Clan.
Yes. "Fire alone can save our clan."
Yeah, that would be pretty awesome if you could do that.
I would be Yellowfang, or maybe Sandstorm.
i believe that rusty left his cushy life because of the thrill of the hunt, catching the mouse at the beginning, and then seeing graypaw, whitestorm and bluestar gave him to opportunity to go and be different. of course, it could also be his friend that got 'fixed' who convinced him to go.
Just think, if you were a cat stuck in a house all day, every day, you'd probably yearn for some adventure! Rusty wanted to get out and explore, and so he did!
Runningwind is a good warrior, I was sad about what happened to him in Rising Storm.
Yes, unfortunately so. ~teardrop~
Even though Rusty was a house cat, he was born to live in the wild
according to what I've read, he left to become a warrior..because it was his destiny to become Firepaw/Fireheart/Firestar..no matter what it took, he had to..with him, there would be no series..without him..there would be no Thunder Clan..
he needed to actually do something fun and he probably just needed to get out there
If I was Rusty, I would have made the same choice he did to leave his old home. :)
Everybody needs a little bit of action in their lives. :)
