Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments Wow, I'm more behind than I thought I was :(

I will be catching up this week, hopefully!

I am reading The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa for Chilly Treat for last week, and Covet by J.R. Ward for Cool Drink this week.

The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4) by Julie Kagawa Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward

Dana (erato) | 922 comments I got a bit behind too Sarah. I finally have a day off so I can finish up my 'cool breeze' book today.

For this week I will be reading About A Dragon (Dragon Kin, #2) by G.A. Aiken for my 'hot shots (dragon shifter)' book.

Enjoy your books ladies!

Sandra | 25908 comments Doing some catching up, I'll be reading Arctic Shift (Denali Heat, #1) by Lissa Matthews for Cool Pad and Storm's Heart (Elder Races, #2) by Thea Harrison for Cool Breeze. Then I'll be up to date, till at least Sunday. LOL

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I really need to catch up.....didn't manage to read my book for last week and still need to pick out something for this week! Unfortunately, out of all the books on my "Gotta read it NOW" pile, none of them works for any of my remaining categories. DRATS!

SIGH.....now I'm forced to actually peruse my TBR books. It's tough, really tough! I mean, think of the sacrifice I am making by spending my time searching diligently thru stacks and stacks of books just to find things to fit this challenge......all those abs.....and sultry glances......just hope BOB has fresh batteries!

Hey Dana - next time can we just do 13 weeks of hot, nekkid men?????? That's easy!

LOL Love it!

message 259: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments BTW Cindy I know how you feel, I have to find a book set in a cool location, a book that has a form of air in the title, and a book with a form of water in the title! Help! I can't think of anything right now that fits :(

Any suggestions?

message 260: by Sarah (last edited Aug 14, 2011 01:22PM) (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments So this probably a stupid question but I just want to make sure I get it right. It says bodies of water in the title but can Water for Elephants count? I know specifically it's not a body of water.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I have Storm's Faeries for form of air in the title.....sure hoping it will work!

I'm stuck on the others too......Bayou Moon would work for form of water and I'll probably use that one. Cool location - do you have anything set in space? Can't get much cooler than that!

message 262: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments I don't think I have anything set in space, but I'll have to check. Thanks!

message 263: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments @Sarah - Not sure if it works for the category, but "Water for Elephants" is a really good book thats definately worth reading... Very touching and works the heart strings...

Sandra | 25908 comments For Cool Drink I'll be reading The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook

message 269: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Bayou, storm...all those work. Water for Elephants is just fine with me!

Great suggestion list Sandra. :)

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments Would Drink of Me by Jacquelyn Frank count for Hot & Spicy? I know it isn't technically eating, but it is still consuming something in your mouth :D I am really struggling with Hot & Spicy and Cool Dip, but I will get there.

message 271: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments That will work fine. :)

message 272: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm way behind and apologize. I'll look through my books to see what may fit my missed wks and update my list soon.

message 273: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments UPDATE: I didn't get a book read for week 10 due to family holiday, but I did read I Don't Want to Kill You (John Cleaver, #3) by Dan Wells (cool shades) for week 11. I'm not currently reading something that qualifies for week 12, but hopefully I will before the end of the week.

message 274: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments For this week I'll be reading Sea Glass as Cool Dip.

Sea Glass (Glass, #2) by Maria V. Snyder

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments I had to do some rearranging so for last week I'm reading Of Light and Darkness by Shayne Leighton for Cool Pad, this week I'll be reading Storm Glass by Maria V. Snyder for Cool Breeze, and lastly, Sea Glass by Maria V. Snyder for Cool Dip.

Of Light and Darkness by Shayne Leighton Storm Glass (Glass, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Sea Glass (Glass, #2) by Maria V. Snyder

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Of Light & Darkness, Sarah.

message 277: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments I got a little behind myself so I still have to finish up my book for last week, Breath and Bone (Lighthouse, #2) by Carol Berg for Cool Treat (ice and snow pictured). I have read other items by Carol Berg and really liked them so I am hoping this is as good.

For this week my choice is Sea Witch (Children of the Sea, #1) by Virginia Kantra for Cool Dip. It looks like this series might be the two things I really like in my PNR, smokin' hot and fun! :)

The summer is almost over! :( Read like the wind ladies. :D

message 278: by Lis (last edited Aug 27, 2011 08:11PM) (new)

Lis | 4037 comments And for my final "Hot Days of Summer" book and for Cool treat I'm reading: Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole . Does this mean that summers over??

message 279: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Not for me it doesn't Lis. LOL

I've got 2 books to go, will probably go for Sea Glass (Glass, #2) by Maria V. Snyder next after Bingo book.

message 280: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Yeah!! Challenge completed!

13 of 13 Completed

Thanks Erato! This was a fun challenge, now are you going to host another one?

message 281: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Yeah Lis! WTG on completing the challenge!

Summer lasts for you as long as you can still romp around outside in your shorts and still turn brown instead of blue. ;)

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I think I will host another...this is fun!

message 282: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments For our last week I will be reading Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward for Hot Bodies.

For anyone who likes straight fantasy, I read a duology this week by Carol Berg that was just awesome.

Flesh and Spirit (Lighthouse, #1) by Carol Berg and Breath and Bone (Lighthouse, #2) by Carol Berg were excellent!

Sandra | 25908 comments Hooray, Lis!

message 284: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Yay, Lis! I'm so behind on this one. I'll update my original post soon.

Dana, can we read after a week is over for that week's book or once the week is over SOL?

message 285: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Oh yeah. the spirit is to finish one a week (like our games) but RL is a killer! No prpoblem on catching up. :)

message 286: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'll try to back cover those I missed, but if not, no worries. Thanks :)

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments Phew! Challenge complete, this was a fun but tough one Erato, thanks for putting this challenge on the board. All info posted in #52, I got behind (way behind) in posting individual book info, but it is all in my main post.

message 289: by Dana (last edited Aug 30, 2011 08:41PM) (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments WTG Heather!

It was tough to keep up with, (I've struggled too), but had fun giving it a go!

I learned a valuable lesson from my first challenge experience....summer is way to busy for weekly book requirements! ;D LOL

message 290: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL! I hear ya! WTG, Heather!

message 291: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Congrats Heather! Lol, same, it's been the most challenging challenge.

I used The Way of Shadows (Night Angel, #1) by Brent Weeks for cool shades and Heart of the Dragon (Atlantis, #1) by Gena Showalter for hot house (a lot of time was spent in the Amazon rainforest). I've still got 3 left to go (!), so I'm not sure I will actually finish this challenge by the 3rd but I'll do as much as I can :)

message 292: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Well...haven't been able to post much on a weekly basis, but was happily reading in the background!

Finished off with Archangel's Blade (Guild Hunter, #4) by Nalini Singh for Hot Bodies! (Though I think Dmitri is a LOT hotter than his cover...)

Completed challenge in my original post
