Around 200 years ago a man was in the insane asylum, claiming he was seeing ghosts.
No one believed him.
After all, there are no such thing as ghosts. Slowly, the man began to believe his doctors, and thought he was crazy. So there was only one way to stop the voices. An exorcism.
Two days later when the man was to report to his therapist, he skipped out, trying to contact anyone who knew how to create an exorcism. However, no one knew. In his rage, he shouted to the Gods, begging for the ghosts to leave him alone. He vanished the next day.
News of the crazy missing man hit the town quickly, and soon everyone knew about it. People were getting nervous. Soon more and more people began claiming to be seeing the ghosts, some lying, little not.
Together, in fear of their lives, decided to make the ghosts leave, in whatever way they could. That included eliminating them.
The ghosts told the vampires, the vampires the werewolves, the werewolves the tree spirits, and so on, so forth. They were all on guard now, and cut off any spiritual contact with the humans.
Everyone thought they were gone.
Except for that 2% of the world who knows where they are.
And now that they are back, humans are at a serious disadvantage.

This RP takes place in the modern day, modern society. Everything else is kinda trivial.
