Looks like just Naamah's Blessing by Jacqueline Carey for me this month. . . which is a relief, because I'm in the middle of moving and don't need to fit in book-buying expeditions on top of that!

I thought I was really going to come up empty this month, even for library titles, but Fort Freak sounds interesting. The more recent Wild Cards books haven't really done it for me, but why not; I'll give that one a try at the library. Ditto for Robopocalypse, which was mentioned in a WSJ article as an example of how genre themes and tropes are sneered at less these days. (The article is here; I don't know if it's free or behind the pay wall at this point.)

Oh, and I've already read Deadline, which was actually released 31 May.

Novik, Naomi: Tongues of Serpents (pap)

Although I have yet to read any of the books in this series, I have been buying them as they show up at the used book store. This will go on my list to watch for in the future.

Perhaps it's not out yet in the US, but the third book in Simon Morden's "Metrozone" trilogy, Degrees of Freedom, is slated for release in Canada and the UK this month in mass-market paperback, and for me it's way ahead of what I see on this list (although gee, the Kevin J Anderson title might be tempting...). Samuil Petrovich is a great character, and the supporting cast is great too.

Who Fears Death is definitely on my list. Will wait for Naamah's Blessing in paperback (I just got a copy of Naamah's Curse).

I'll definitely be picking up The Osiris Ritual by George Mann now that it's out in paperback. I didn't love 'Affinity Bridge' but I liked it well enough to try the next in the series.

Also, Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowal looks interesting, but I'll wait to see what others think of it first - and also for it to be out in paperback. Or maybe I'll library it.

Nothing this month
After the disappointment with the last 3 Kushiel books by Carey I have been on the fence with the Namah books. I have the first one but I am really really thinking about not bothering with the rest.

I have ARC copies of Leviathan Wakes and The Map of Time that I still haven't gotten to yet, so those are definitely on my list to read.

Nothing from this list jumps out at me this month. If I were caught up on Brust, I'd pick this one up, but I am woefully behind there.

I'm reading Deadline now.

I'm kind of interested in Leviathan Wakes but I'm trying really hard not to buy books this month, so I will probably wait or try the library.

A book group I'm in is reading Who Fears Death and I'd like to get that, but I'm kind of hesitating at the price (because I'm not supposed to be buying books).
