Cheryl I'm not sure about this book. I want to read it but I think I should wait another year. I know a lot about the Great Depression, But I don't know as much on World War 1. And does the book take place in the war or her life as the war is going on around her. Please Write back soon.

Priscilla Oh, I loved this book. It takes place during the Depression. You don't have to know anything about WWI to read this book. If you like small towns with interesting characters and adolescent POV, you will love this book. I read it in one day. Let me know if you like it!

Olivia Well I read it, and it was very good. Just try it!

Olivia Please!

Angelique This is a spectacular book. It has elements of the Great Depression and World War One (told in flashbacks). Very awesome and worth reading.

Emily G. I loved this book! You don't need any previous knowledge of WWI to enjoy this book! As Angelique said, it has excellent elements of the Great Depression and WWI (even if the latter is told through flashbacks). This really took me back to my childhood growing up in a small town not unlike Manifest. This book had very real intersting characters, a great portrayal of small town life, and great story and character progression. I really recommend this book! It was spectacular!

Lyndon The author, Clare Vanderpool, recently won the Newberry for this, her debut, novel. She's a fellow Wichitan and I heard her read at a local independent bookstore a few months prior to receiving the award. Bought "Moon Over Manifest" on the spot and really enjoyed it.

Acey this is a very good book. one of the best ones i've read this year so far... i wouldn't put off reading it. :-)

Rkdk47 I loved this book and would highly recommend it!

But you gave it 5 stars?

The book is not too 'mature' for any age group. I wouldn't wait to read it on content issues, if that's the hesitation.

Sidney this book kind of go confusing with the time changes, but i think the confusion was me because i am only 13 and i had to read this book for a book club book.
(when i get to pick my own book i enjoy reading a lot more.)

Caroline Such I good read!!!

Ana Sofía this was a great book, but the middle part kind of bored me.

Caroline Everything was great!!!!!¡

Nanci de Suffren This is an outstanding book. I read for enjoyment and I think sometimes I enjoy the books I read more because there is no pressure to understand or analyze them. This book made me think all on my own (what a concept!). Assigned books come with their own pressure no matter how good the book. If you are looking for a book to read and enjoy challenging your own intellect, read this book. It is well worth reading!
