Brittany, I think of The Passage as the horror genre too. Also, the middle portion of the book looks yellow- book cover.

And add a point for South America (I believe some of the research was done there). And a point for Exploration (research and after), and finally one for the father or father figure (Wolgast). So you should have 25, not 19. ;)

Oh, and it starts out in Washington D.C. as I recall. A "small portion" of the book, but as I recall a good 160-180 pages. So, if the mods are okay with it, I would count that too.
