I've made it to chapter five. This is a faster paced book than the first one.
I agree it is. I will start reading it again now that everyone else is.

I'm all ready to chat up part 1 and see what everyone thoughts are on it. It certainly started off with a bang.
All I can say is OMG, OMG, OMG about Rowan's betrayal. Did anyone see that coming or was I just totally blind?

Oh Rowan! I was expecting something sly from him, but have to say I was completely caught off gaurd with him siding with the Iron King. I can't believe he fell for that whole line!
And speaking of the Iron King... Who is it now? I even wondered for a second if it was Rowan, but he wouldn't be able to live there being fey. So I'm really curious who this new Iron King is. And where did he come from?

I think Ash was really there. And he so loves her.

I love Ash. I love Puck. They are both amazing men for Meghan, just both very different men.
I think I love Ash more. I do love Puck and would be thrilled with him. But Ash is more my kind of man.
What about the law that Winter & Summer can NOT be together? That is just cruel! But I see the meaning here. I wonder if there could be a small chance that Winter & Summer will work together and then blend, being able to allow Meghan & Ash together. I don't think it will be in this book. But maybe over the series this could happen.
BUT!!! What about the promise Meghan swears to!?! This is going to be a problem in breaking.
98pg " 'Kiss me,' I whispered, and saw his eyebrows arc in surprise. 'Just once more,' I pleaded, 'and I promise it will be the last time. I'l be able to forget you after that.'

He hesitated, unsure, and I tried to make my tone light. 'Last time, I swear.' "
This is going to be a problem for her to be with Ash again in the future. All fey are bond by their promises. Meghan and her crazy promises! I could have slapped her. lol. But I keep going back through looking for a loop hole in the thinking in this wording. Wondering how they can get past this to be together in the future.

And again Ash held my heart. I felt so awful for him. I know he is doing what is to be done, but so soon to see of all people Puck trying to kiss Meghan. That had to be hard for him. But Puck is so happy. How can he not know about Ash and Meghan. He has to have some idea there is something there. Can't he see them? Or even wonder on what he heard?

Well, I don't think Meghan can go home to her parents. As she mentioned the fey is part of her now and she can't leave it now. Although, I do wonder if Puck would give her the drink he was to give her in the first book to prevent any of this. I think she will talk Puck into going after the Spectar to help Ash. She just can't seem to let these things go.
But, will she go to King Orebon first to get the magic block removed? She can't do anything with out her magic. She is just a damsel in distress with out it. She needs to be able to do magic!

Everybody seems to be feeling bad for Ash but me. I want to throttle him. Taking everything upon himself, treating Meagan like she has to be protected. Using her as his excuse. I think he's scared of his feelings. I do love him tho, but man I adore Puck as well.

Yeah. I was shocked to learn Iron King was alive. But I guess there is a NEW Iron King. I wonder what the human world had created that took his place.
Wonder how long until we find out. And I'm still curious as to why those Iron Knights look exactly like Ash!

You know I didn't think of Romeo and Juliet-ish. That is a great comparison here.

I didn't expect Rowan to side with the Iron king but did expect him to cause trouble of some kind.
I am wondering who the new king is as well.

I think because she is part human she can feed off the Iron glamour.

Oh, I have to say this part of the book was very heart wrenching for me. Ash laying his heart out and then Puck with this line and laying his heart out in the open. Neither knowing of the other one's confessions. These boys are both wonderful! And I would love Meghan with either one.

Hey, Kagawa might surprise you with who Meghan ends up with. :) You never know yet... maybe it will be one of the Iron Knights that looks like Ash. lol. ;D

I think this was the only thing that kind of grated on my nerves some. But I keep reminding myself she has never had a boyfriend before and she is only 16. She still is very innocent and naive.

As soon as it was revealed that he was only wounded/hadn't died, I thought this might be the way things were heading. I liked the rivalry aspect of the brothers' relationship.

In Meghan's defense, she's in a perpetual state of chill along with being poisoned by a mushroom and having her magic bound. She's definitely not in the ideal circumstances for thinking straight, lol. But, yeah, she is a bit slow on the overall uptake.

I'm Ash all the way (mostly cause I like the idea of how he looks :-) ) but the difference here, I think, is that Puck shows he'd being willing to sacrifice it all for Meghan, where Ash starts to do that by rescuing Meghan then all too quickly sending her home. He'd rather deal with the internal struggle than make the exertions external to fight the "old" rules. Shame on him!
