Santa does little jig, smiling joyously as he "Ho Ho's" his gift, my gasp thriller OF GOOD AND EVIL, into a movie. Yes, the novel is to be a movie! Daring action, uncanny love, breathtaking read! For more, see http://geraldggriffin.blogspot.com/

I would recommend you don't try to be all things to all people in your blog. Niches do well. My blog is solely dedicated to Dante's Inferno and has been running for about 5 years with steady traffic. Be patient lolzzz! Blogs take time, plant them, water them, maintain them.www.davelafferty.com
I agree with David. The important thing is to focus on who you want to read the blog and what you like to write about. I write book reviews on mine because I like to read and think about what I read.http://leonardseet.blogspot.com/
Might as well get in on the fun! My thriller OF GOOD AND EVIL is to be made into a movie! For the gripping author interview on making the novel into a movie, click:http://fountainbluepublishing.com/aut...
My movie Producer, Alexandria Altman loved the interview and is making sure that some influential Hollywood and movie peoole get to read it.

What fun! I've enjoyed looking at these blogs. Here's mine;www.yschoo.com
I like to eat and read, and often do both at the same time. I'll be posting more recipes, snack ideas and food+book pairings with frequent updates. Hope to see you there!
For everyone who is struggling on what to write and how often, I recommend using http://Scoop.it to add in new and fresh material to your blog every day. You can set up an account for free, and curate on 3 different topics as many times as you like each day. I usually do 2 scoops per day, and that material is shot out to my blog, my GoodReads feed, my twitter, FB, and linked in. Here's my blog so you can see how it works:http://PhilosBooks.com
If you would be so kind during your visit would you give it a like? Thank you so much!

My husband and I attended a freelancer seminar, and the instructor had us go to wordpress.com to set up a free blog. It's super easy to do, and it gets you started and familiar with the process. Whatever name you choose will have the .wordpress.com extension after it unless you get the paid version. So, it would be: yourname.wordpress.com That's my personal preference since that is where I got started. Others might like something else. ;)
Wordpress is fairly easy to get used to. There is a bit more of a learning curve with the paid version, but the free one is great to learn on. ;)
I may be interested taking a look at the paid version later down the road. For now, I am just getting started, but still having so much fun =))
Let us know when you get it set up, if you want some "likes" on it. It is fun, and lot of new stuff to learn, too! ;)
Article on book blog "Is Art Imitating Reality? – Divas in Media" http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
Just finished reading the new book by Maria Konnikova called Mastermind: How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes. The author makes the case that Holmes brings the scientific method and scientific thinking to everyday life, and aims to help us do the same. It's self-help for the scientifically minded, and its backed up by the latest in psychological research. I've written a full executive summary of the book available here: http://newbooksinbrief.com/2013/01/28...Cheers,
Aaron

I developed a great audience on my blog, but maybe 0.004% of that audience is a young adult. I'm glad for what my blog's shaped up to be, but it's not very useful as an "author" blog.
I have been thinking about how to slowly shift it back toward more writing-related realms. I even started a Tumblr to see if that could help me reorient my own thinking about (and expectations for) my blog.

I find that in blogging, my posts that get the most hits are either funny or touching. And I guess that is what I am drawn to as well in being inspired to read certain posts and promote them to others. Here is my blog, a mix of funny, touching. I also showcase guest authors and have a Writers Corner resource for writers.

Hey guys. I started my blog about a month ago. It's basically book reviews (from pretty much all genres), blog tours and a couple of memes and random thoughts that pop into my head. Saint Malachy and the Prophecy of the Last PopeThe media is abuzz after the announcement of Pope Benedict’s pending retirement. Not just the usual speculation about possible candidates, what country they’re from, or whether they’ll be Italian, but also a medieval Irish saint’s prophecy about the last pope and the Biblical end of days.

My old blog was about the street I live on, a Greek neighbourhood in Toronto. Friends, local "characters", and when I was at a loss I wrote about my past. I loved doing it when I was on a roll, and I was on a roll for a few years. And the comments from readers certainly gave me more confidence.

Any way we could still read it somewhere? I've lived in a lot of different places, and I've always been struck by how much places themselves seem to have character.
A great deal of the old blog is going to be in my book, if you don't mind my saying so, called "Songbook for Haunted Boys and Girls." I've always lived in Toronto, but it's very multicultural and one neighbourhood is very different from another. I haven't travelled as much as a few friends who continue to wing it all over the world. Yes, places themselves have character. No question.
