Vicky (librovert) I don't remember much about this book, but hopefully someone will be able to help me!

Plot
The story takes place in a walled village, I believe the walls were there to block out wolves or something that lived in the woods outside the village. Children in the village with physical (and perhaps mental?) disabilities were sent off into the woods. The main character is a girl who was born with a disability and sent into the woods but survived somehow. She comes back to the village and very much the outcast.

Publication Time-Frame
I read the book sometime between 2003 and 2005, so it isn't a super recent book.

Cover
I think I remember the cover being mostly teal and brown, although I could be way off on that.

Thanks in advance for any help! :D

Gathering Blue Gathering Blue (The Giver, #2) by Lois Lowry

Doesn't totally fit. But just in case.

This is the summary in Amazon

Kira, newly orphaned and lame from birth, is taken from the turmoil of the village to live in the grand Council Edifice because of her skill at embroidery. There she is given the task of restoring the historical pictures sewn on the robe worn at the annual Ruin Song Gathering, a solemn day-long performance of the story of their world's past. Down the hall lives Thomas the Carver, a young boy who works on the intricate symbols carved on the Singer's staff, and a tiny girl who is being trained as the next Singer. Over the three artists hovers the menace of authority, seemingly kind but suffocating to their creativity, and the dark secret at the heart of the Ruin Song.

I don't know how you managed to find that from what I said, but that's definitely the book! Looks like I was a little off, haha.

Thanks! :)
