Chris | 1 comments The case in question is here: http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

This work was first published in England, with at least two subsequent republications in America. Its original English title was "Pastoral Theology: A Reorientation". The first American republication, now out of print, was "The Heart of the Parish". The second republication, still in print, reverted to the original title.

I've been able to combine those editions with no trouble. What I can't seem to do is make the original (and current) title show up by default in searches. Is there a way to change that in the book's data, or is it dependent on something we can't touch in the database?

Darkpool I'm not sure what you are asking... when I put the title into search, it found the book.
In many cases, the title displayed for a book defaults to the most shelved (or most rated?) edition. It looks to me as if the other 2 people who have shelved this book aside from yourself have the edition with the other title. As I understand it there's not much you can do about this. I have a book on my shelves where the most common edition is in Persian; and I just have to remember that اسپارتاکوس is actually "Spartacus"!
