Why thank you. =) I have quite the collection of nail varnishes. (I offered to do my brother's nails in the Man Utd colours but he turned me down. I can't imagine why. =P) I used to love pinks and purples but now I go for bright colours because my clothes tend to be boring. I can't do my left hand. It's a disaster for me. I can't do French manicure. My mum's look like that naturally though, which is really annoying. =/ I know, we must keep history alive because it's important that we don't repeat mistakes. YA Paranormal tends to deserve its bad rep. A lot of it is average and needs a lot of work on it. I'm not sure about adult Paranormal though.
I know. XD Nothing is better than free. Wow! It took me that long to watch season 1! Haha, he did nothing. I really am going to read them. Wow! I think she liked it lol. Fair enough. I just put my books away or occasionally tell my mum that she just has to read it.
Well, in ten years I learnt a lot more about horses :p And if I were in the same situation that led to me being stood on again today, I'd handle it very differently. With age comes wisdomosity. (No running available when you're stuck sitting in a canoe! :P Paddle harder!! It just doesn't shock me anymore... I lost my Britishness there.)
I used to have a huge collection in all the colours of the rainbow... now I've got about 10, and that's more than enough. (lol... neither can I! My brother does his black.) Oh, I have a really weird fashion sense for clothes. Before now I've been out wearing brown boots, white trousers, royal purple fleece, hot pink and lime green hat, midnight blue gloves and dark green scarf. I stood out! :) Sometimes I actually have to ask for Arie's help with my right hand... not that that tends to give a much better result, but at least it's a bit better. Oh, now I'm jealous of your mum's natural nail colouring! We always repeat our mistakes, and each time it gets worse. But I agree that we need to remember the past in an attempt to avoid committing the same mistakes in the present. Some adult paranormal is amazing. Some is porn rather than a story (Anita Blake, I'm looking at you!). Some is why did I spend my money on this shit?
It took me about 2 weeks to watch season 1 because I was limited to an episode a day. He really did do nothing. He wouldn't even go to the supermarket with me. Must. Watch. Dexter. Zombie. Grrr. Brainsss. She did :p but she often gets like that when reading. She'll find a book, wander off with it and we won't see her again until she's finished it! What do you mean it was dinner time 2 hours ago and I still haven't fed you? Can't you see I'm busy?! Lol, at least you try with your mum!

I couldn't be without my nail varnish collection... it helps with my indecisiveness in the winter. (I used to do mine black all the time! I was emo at the time though.) Haha, I just wear plain colours... I attract no attention to myself in any way... except for my brightly coloured nails. I should ask someone for help but I hate it when they stare at me because I'm bad at waiting for them to dry. Haha, I point out my jealousy a lot. I know but it makes me sad. =( I hate the fact that everyone wants to kill and maim. Haha, I've heard stuff about the Anita Blake series. Lol.
I spent my afternoons watching it. Lol, it's such a good show though. My mum doesn't she reads for about five minutes and then comes back to watch rubbish stuff on the TV. Haha, I love it when you go up to your parent like... it's tea time. I'm hungry and their just like go away child. I really do. One day I will succeed.
I do too. I'm always working on expanding my knowledge, especially about my beloved horses. Oooh, I don't have that wisdomosity anymore. I had an operation to remove that wisdomosity two years ago. But it was pure pain for about 5 years before that point. (True, but then you wouldn't have been by the river either. Your fear of water shall protect you from the indecencies of the French!)
Hehe, it makes you individual in a way that your clothes don't! I'm the other way around. :p (I had a black varnish phase too. Thankfully I grew out of it p.d.q.) Oh, I'm bad at waiting for my right hand to dry. I always want to do things and I always always end up with smudges. It seems to be an integral part of human nature. Maybe even animal nature. Survival of the fittest and all that. Alpha male protecting his spot and getting rid of all opposition. But no other species does it on the scale we do it on. Yeah, I've heard enough about Anita Blake to not ever want to read it. But I've read some pretty bad paranormal romances. I don't know why I bother with the genre because I already know I don't really like it. Back to this whole volontarily putting ourselves through pain thing.
I only got evenings and had to fit it around other series too and Arie's work. It is! It's worth an addiction - unlike Glee. Lol, sounds like your mum's the opposite of mine then! Hahaha, yes! I used to get that quite often with my mum. I'm hungry, what's for dinner? I don't know, it's still at the supermarket. And this is likeat 9pm (which is verging on normal dinner time in summer, it has to be said.) Best of luck to you then! I'm taking Spectyr home for my mum... I do not expect to have much contact with her for the first day or so. :p

It does. I like my nails. I hate people paying attention to my clothes. (I think everyone has at some point. =D) I'm like that with my left. It's inevitable that I find something really important to do. I know, animals do it to survive, we do it because we can. Haha, me too, but I think I bought one ages ago. =/ I have too. We're awful for putting ourselves through pain.
Fair enough, I had my afternoons so I used them to good effect. It is. Why are we addicted to Glee? Lol, it really does. Haha, if my mum said that at 9pm the supermarket would be shut. She'd be there like, ask your brother. Why thank you. Haha, you travel all the way to France and then give her a book that means she won't talk to you for a day! Why? Lol =P
Just dropping in quickly to leave comment on basic plots before I go to buy dinner! I think it was in this thread. I had a face palm moment about 5 mins ago when I remembered I said I'd look up the book but then forgot to do so. So now I've done so.
This is the book: The Seven Basic Plots: Why We Tell Stories
The plots are:
1. Overcoming the monster -- defeating some force which threatens... e.g. most Hollywood movies; Star Wars, James Bond.
2. The Quest -- typically a group setoff in search of something and (usually) find it. e.g. Watership Down, Pilgrim's Progress.
3. Journey and Return -- the hero journeys away from home to somewhere different and finally comes back having experienced something and maybe changed for the better. e.g. Wizard of Oz, Gullivers Travels.
4. Comedy - not neccesarily a funny plot. Some kind of misunderstanding or ignorance is created that keeps parties apart which is resolved towards the end bringing them back together. e.g. Bridget Jones Diary, War and Peace.
5. Tragedy - Someone is tempted in some way, vanity, greed etc and becomes increasingly desperate or trapped by their actions until at a climax they usually die. Unless it's a Hollywood movie, when they escape to a happy ending. e.g. Devils' Advocate, Hamlet.
6. Rebirth - hero is captured or oppressed and seems to be in a state of living death until it seems all is lost when miraculously they are freed. e.g. Snow White.
7. Rags to Riches - self explanatory really. e.g. Cinderella & derivatives
A lot of books combine plots and they tend to go through 5 phases. He details the phases in his book but I can't remember what they were. Maybe one of the reveiws says.
Now I'm off to buy foodums! :p

Mike we don't appreciate spam. Please don't do it again.
Going back to what you put the other day before I forgot to respond... -_- I've been a bit scatter-brained the past couple of days, soz.
Lol, I guessed. The pain got so bad that I couldn't stand it anymore and I had to force my mum to call and book the op for me (it could only be booked 4 weeks in advance and I was in England then so I couldn't call them myself) which she reluctantly did. Two of the teeth were growing diagonally into my other teeth, forcing them forwards, and another one grew with a hole in it so the nerve was exposed - f***ing ow!!! How come you've only got half a wisdomosity tooth? (or walking the dog. I get eyefuls whenever I walk the dog by the river (which is about a 2 minute walk from our house). You must never walk there! Or go sunbathing at the beach.)
I thought I'd take the nails thing group-wide. :p Hopefully people will chat about their hair and nails and beauty regimes and so on! Well, I think it's still in part a survival instinct. The dictators and such do it to make sure that they remain the top dog in their "pack". Only difference is that their pack is a whole country and there are lots of people to be killed in a whole country. I did look at a Hamilton title once, but I resisted. I'm glad I did now! We really do. It's not even guilty pleasure because I don't even like it. I think I just have this blind faith that it will get better some day, but it never does.
I really don't know. Glee annoys the heck out of me and yet I still go back to it week after week. It's another of those voluntarily putting myself through pain things. Our SM in France shuts at 10, but they stop letting people in at 9:45. The one here shuts at 8 but people also tend to eat earlier here. It sounds odd, but I'm giving her my book and she's going to give me the George R.R. Martin books, so it's all good! Gives me time to start work on training the dog, too. :p

I thought you might. It must have been excruciating. How come your mum wasn't for ringing the dentist? Ouch! They sound like naughty teeth. I don't know, it has growth spurts... it's trying to grow a bit more at the moment. (I won't go walking my imaginary dog in France, I think Colwyn Bay will suffice otherwise the dog and I will be knackered! =P Haha, so no dog walking or sun bathing in France.)
Yay! =P Yes hopefully they will, I will anyway, I'll talk about practically anything. Really? I refuse to give dictators any sort of defence. I don't believe that it's right. Good for you, if I ever get around to reading the one I've got I'll let you know what it's like. I know, we're eternal optimists!
I know... me too! Fair enough, we have some 24 hour ones but no car so we can't go to them. It really does sound odd but that seems like a fair exchange. Oooh whatcha gonna teach her? =)
It went through phases of being very painful and then not bothering me at all. But the not bothering phases got to be almost inexistant so I finally took the bull by the horns. My mum hates phoning anyone when she has to speak in French - she'll go out of her way to not do it unless you really pester her for it. Have you had your x-ray to see whether or not you need your wisdom teeth removed? (lol, it'd be a bit of a rather long walkies!! Pretty much no going anywhere near water in France!)
I hope so too. It's one thing that I can go on and on about. Probably because I spend so much of my time dealing with it! So will... I think we've established this rather well. :p From what I've heard the first 7 or 8 are pretty decent but after that she just spends all her time having sex with as many different paranormal creatures as she can, and that doesn't interest me. We are, it brings us such pains and yet we never stop looking for the bright side!
Ah, they don't know the meaning of 24/7 here. Even at the airport everything closes at one point then opens again around 5am. Well, it's so hot there atm that we can't really do much other than hide in the house during the hottest parts of the day anyway, so why not hide and read till it gets cooler? I'm gonna attempt to teach her to walk on the lead without removing the walker's arm from its socket. She doesn't often need to walk on the lead but when she does it's painful to be the one holding it, so I wanna try to remedy that.

Me too, it's the one thing I allow myself to be girly with. I think so too! =P Aaah so the author got horny because she wasn't getting any and then turned her novels into a porn extravaganza. That's a good plan... not. I know, we should be given medals... and knighthoods. =P
That sucks, 24/7 can come in handy. Aaaah, so it makes sense to read some books in the house then. Fair enough, you don't want her ripping your arm out of its socket. At least she doen't need it too often. Good luck with that by the way.
Did you ever have an orthodentist? (that might be the French term... the dentist that deals with braces.) Mine told me I needed my wisdom teeth. Most people have to get an x-ray to see whether they're growing in the right direction because if they're not they can screw up your whole mouth. Not good! I can sometimes be a bit like that... I don't really like talking on the phone in Dutch but I'll do it. Oooh, I've not seen that one. We use Aquafresh or something.
I do pamper myself from time to time. I think you need to else you'll go out of your mind. If you're a girl then it's worth being girly in at least some way! It would seem so. She got all pissed off with her fans when they called her books porn and just told them to stop reading then, lol. Nice of her, huh? We do! I think I'd make a very good Dame. Wouldn't let it go to my head or anything! *cough*
It can, but thankfully we haven't needed it before now. We shop on a daily basis (the shops are less than 5 mins away on foot, 2 mins on the bike) so we usually have a bit of everything we could possibly ever need in the house. Yup it does. You need something to do where you don't actually have to move else you immediately go slick as sweat pops up everywhere all over your body. If you wanna do anything it has to be done before 9am else it's too hot. No, the arm ripping is not fun. Thank you. :) I shall let you know whether or not it works!

I know what you mean, sometimes it's nice to just look after number 1. She was rude to her fans... She ain't getting my money, I hate authors like that, they're essentially ensuring that she doesn't have a 9 to 5 the least she can do is listen to them. I do too, it's not like I'd use my Damehood to go to cool places and get on the TV! *cough*
It's lucky that you don't need to go too far to the shops, it's a right old walk for me. Aaah, that's organised! Fair enough, I hate being all sweaty. It's horrible. I guess you'll be going out early with the doggy then? I didn't think it would be. =) Yes do tell me. I am intrigued as to whether she'll listen to you.
You might wanna look into an x-ray of your wisdom teeth if one of the other sides starts hurting too as they can be really bad as they hurt a LOT if they're growing somewhere where they can't get out properly. I don't like the phone much either. But if it's for Bruce, then it's for Bruce and most phonecalls I've had to make in Dutch have been for Bruce (or to my former boss). I'll have a look for it as my teeth are sensitive so it might be interesting for me too! I like the feeling of a clean mouth. :)
Yeah, I seem to spend so much time doing stuff for other people (or animals) that sometimes it's nice to do something just for me. She really was, and I agree. They're paving her way, the least she could do is thank them and not tell them off for not liking her sex-manic plots. Cool places sounds more interesting than TV. :p We could travel the world! Oooh!
Yeah, it's very well organised here. No matter where you live, you're always less than a 5 min bike ride away from the shops. That means that all the supermarkets are pretty small but they stock enough to allow you some variation. I hate it too. Some days I'll show 3 or 4 times in a day because I hate it so much. Morning and evening. I hope she will! I taught her to roll over and play dead... but in doing so she forgot how to sit, give paw and lie down!

I do too, I was doing my mum's hair for her this morning, baring in mind I detest touching hair, I think that was jolly nice of me. She really needs to learn some respect. I know but I'd like to be on TV at some point to show off my sparkling wit and personality. =P Oooh we could! We could go and see the Taj Mahal! (I suddenly want to see that lol.)
Well I like their organisation, it spells convenience. XD Fair enough, we don't have one in our house which sucks because I want one. Yay! Go you! Aaaah, that's not good, she got amnesia of the sitting down, lying and shaking paws.
Yeah, some people don't get them till they're OAPs! Slow going growing there! I ring the vets because first I have to get their available times so I can make sure we can borrow the car. I'll look tomorrow then. Or the day after as I might not go to the shops tomorrow.
Gosh, the things you put up with for your mum! I did my mum's hair once. She won't let me near it again. I got my crimper out when they first gave it to me for X-mas and crimped ALL of her hair while she was playing some PC game. Then we had to go out to PC World and she took one look at herself in the mirror and screamed! Hahahahahaha. That was the end of my career as a hairdresser! And raise money for the orphans, don't forget raising money for the orphans. I want to see the pyramids - both south American and Egyptian.
Yes, it is pretty good. Means we can easily get away with having no car and five bicycles. Show = shower. My brain went on holiday half way through the word. Oh no! I'm showi Americ tendenc!! You only have a bath then? I prefer the shower, takes too long to bath every day. She did indeed. My brother will not stop harping on about how I "broke her." Pfft. Now I'll fix her again. That'll show him!

I know... I had to touch it and everything! Lol. OMG! PMSL! I think my mother would have murdered me if I'd done that... I could straighten it though when she's on the computer... no I'd have to touch it again. I can see why. My mum's hair actually looks quite nice to be fair. When she does it, it sticks out at all angles. Yes we must raise money for orphans and children with terminal illnesses. Oooh! I could do pyramids... I also want to see the Leaning Tower Of Pisa.
It is. I know, can you tell because I carried on the conversation. We do only have a bath, I really want a shower though. It does, bathing is awkward. Lol... you "broke her". Just tell him you didn't and that she was so proud of her achievement when it comes to rolling over and playing dead that in her excitement her brain went on holiday... and didn't return. Lol, I'm sure you will.
Hmm, he's lucky in one way but in another not so lucky as baby teeth look very different to adult teeth so he'll always be different in that way too. At least he's lucky enough to actually have his baby teeth and not no teeth at all! He does, yes, cuz he's a special animal! :) Oh, I'd have to shop tomorrow if we were eating at home but we'll be in Amsterdam in the evening so we'll be eating there (don't worry, hand in is at 5 and I'll be leaving at about 5 so it all works out just fine!)
Did you straighten it for her? That was very kind of you! I know! My mum said she felt like Cruella deVil but with only black hair. I thought it looked fantastic! I've still got that crimper. My mum never bothers to even brush her hair, lol. She always looks like she's just walked through a hedge backwards. Yes indeed. And bring blankets to Romania and Bulgaria that we have knitted / crocheted ourselves. Leaning Tower of Pisa ia also good. And the Kremlin and the Mongolian steppes with the wild horsies!
You did very well. :p Dealing with my momentary Americanisms. If I take a bath I'm in the bathroom for at least an hour and a half... I couldn't be doing with that on a daily basis. With the shower I'm in and out in 20 mins max. That's what he says! "Bex, you broke Peps!" That's what I try to tell him. She only does it outside anyway. That wouldn't surprise me, I think her brain often goes on holiday and doesn't return for quite some time. It is my summer mission! I will succeed!

That wouldn't surprise me, I think her brain often goes on holiday and doesn't return for quite some time. It is my summer mission! I will succeed!

I didn't need to in the end, it looks really nice. I'm a kind person. =) Hahaha, I would have been laughing like a loon on loon tablets if my mum had been walking around with crimped hair. You keep hold of it, you may need it one day. Haha, I don't either but mine looks suitable mussed as opposed to a disaster area. That look's the coolest though. Yes we will do that too, we'll certainly have enough money for wool. Yes we will go see the wild horsies and then we'll visit Vietnam.
I really did do well. I'm awesomesauce. =P I tend to only be in for half an hour otherwise everyone gets rowdy at the door. Fair enough with the shower, it is more convenient. You need to try harder and also add in some "lalalas" when he starts talking. Haha, she sounds adorable. I didn't say that about your dog! That was you! I'm sure you will!
I would imagine so. You wouldn't be able to talk for one thing, and that would be hell in and of itself. Lack of ability to bite would also be a downer. Lots of fun in Amsterdam! I actually got to have a conversation with Stephen Fry =D Woo!! (I did :P)
You obviously are, swallowing your aversion to hair for your mumsy wumsy! Oh yes! I was at the right age to think it looked marvy with just a dash of groovy. Mum had to find a hat to put on so her hair would be hidden cuz she was so embarrassed! hahaha. I may well! I may even use it myself, you never know. Blasts from the past can be fun. My hair looks weird when it's mussed up, it's better to brush it out straight. It is a good look! I do like me a day of through-the-hedge-backwards when I can get away with it. We will indeed! And we will travel the world collecting different kinds of wool to show that we're doing all our travelling for a reason! Then Japan and ride the über fast train?
That you are! Awesome sauce in a squeezy bottle! It takes half an hour just to run our bath. It is, I never used to use it before I hit my teens though, then it was all about baths. I could try doing so! lalalaIcan'thearyoulalala. Oh, that's ok, I've always said that about this dog. :p

I know... my mumsy wimsy was very grateful... almost as grateful for that as the fact I've made her dinner for the past two days. I bet you were. I couldn't have crimped hair, it would've taken ages to do it. Haha, you made your mum put a hat on! I don't think anything I do would be that bad. Mine looks really nice, it looks horrible when it's been brushed, it looks all lifeless so I brush it just before I wash it. Haha, me too. It's nice to let my hair go for a day. We will! We'll knit and crochet as we travel on the Bullet Train. Then we'll visit that hotel that was built on its own island!
Lol. Yay! (Just so you know, I'm going to spend the rest of my life saying awesomesauce... it's now in the official dictionary of Charmainenglish. =P) Wow, I think you may have installed a mini swimming pool by accident. =P I know what you mean. You've got your lalalas perfected. Lol, poor doggy. =P
Lol, yes, I occasionally bite things too. Actually, I have to admit that I'm biting a pen right now but that's quite a rare occurance. It really would! Though I suppose I've been through communicating exclusively via sign language before now. I did!! We just talked about what he'd been talking about (mostly Oscar Wild) and how it was interesting and very insightful... and he signed my copy of his book and it says "love Stephen Fry xx" :) :) Woo! Arie has stolen it to read it first.
Wow, you're really pampering her! Doing her hair, cooking her meals... bet she doesn't know what's hit her! It used to take me a couple of hours to crimp mine but it was the one style that stayed in my hair for hours. If I put curls in the just went flat within a couple of hours but the crimped bits stayed in until the next wash. I did! It's her own fault she let me do it all. :p Mine looks a bit lifeless too but it looks better than if I slept on it and didn't brush it. Letting it dry every which way does work too. Oh oh! All these exciting adventures that await us! Shall we stay in one of those rooms that is quite literally a sleeping bubble?
(Well, awesomesauce is one groovy word. It's actually spelt owsimsauce but I don't like that spelling.) You'd think, wouldn't you? Nah, the water flow to the bath tap is blocked somewhere, dunno where, so it comes out very slowly. It doesn't help that it is actually a big bath. I have indeedy! I'm also very good at sticking my fingers in my ears. Well, I think I've said before, she does have a small head. It's not her fault.

I know. I just gave her a cuddle an' all. My vrother's been slacking and she's really upset so I'm trying to be extra nice so she knows that at least one of her children loves her. Fair enough, I like to give mine a wave by shoving it in a bun and then letting it down, it looks nice like that. That's true, she shouldn't have let you anywhere near her so you can blame her for it. =P I guess that's okay then. No girl wants awful looking hair. Woo. I know! Yes we shall and then we'll eat breakfast at Tiffany's. (Just because we can.)
(I don't like that spelling either so it's awesomesauce in the official dictionary of Charmainenglish. =P) Aaah, that makes more sense now, you should've put that in your last post so I didn't assume it was a swimming pool. =P We had a bath like that once, it's blooming annoying. Yes, I can do that too, when I've not got earphones in them. Haha, of course it isn't, it's all about genetics. =)

Oooh, nice colours! I don't do blues anymore really, not on my fingers (though sometimes on my toes). I tend to go for pinks and purples in various shades and some reds. I also do French manicure if I have the patience for it. I find toes easier to do that my right hand. I can't do my right hand for love nor money! :( Precisely! And with the fact that all the WW2 veterans are starting to be...dead... it's important to keep this history alive in another way. Paranormal tends to have a bad rep in YA! Then again, it does in some areas of adult lit too.
Then even better! Free!! We've got it all on our server as we watch it over and over. My brother discovered Dexter and he watched 4 seasons in 4 days. :/ Shows how much else he did during those 4 days. I really enjoyed them. I haven't read her new one yet but she's one of my favourite authors. I gave my mum
