This challenge is from June 1 to 30, 2011. You only need to read one book each category for all the fun things in June.

1. Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month. Read a book with a cat shifter or a cat pet in it. Any type of cat.

2. Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. Read a book with a Gay or Lesbian character or a rainbow on the cover.

3. D-Day Anniversary is June 6, 1944. Read a book that takes place in France, has a French character, has a military character or talks about a war.

4. Jacques Cousteau's birthday is June 11, 1910. Read a book where there is a boat, a ship, someone goes swimming or is a deep sea diver, or where there is a mythological sea creature.

You can bend the above to fit your book, just write the reason you chose it for that category. Have fun!!!

by Deborah Harkness fits the first 3 categories. I checked it out from the library and it's an amazing read. It has a fairly intelligent house cat, Tabitha in it. The heroine's aunt and her longtime partner are witches, and the hero, a vampire is french and quite a bit of the book takes place in France.
