Hey, hey, hey. For a while there in the 1990s and the early 2000s I wrote nothing because if I did some publisher would have an option on it and I was recovering all my rights by hook or by crook so that I could exploit the ebook revolution I forecast as early as 1990. One of the things I did meanwhile, to keep the bank happy, was electronic design, specifically high voltage valve amps and speakers and suchlike, ultra-fidelity sound. I just naturally fell in with a circle of other guys at the top of this very esoteric trade, and we'd pass work around, hire each other (on the client's bill) as consultants, and so on. But these guys had never met me face to face. One day I was amazed to hear that one of them said at a conference in Austria somewhere that to be proper designer you had to be "on the wrong side of fifty and going light on top, like me and X and Y and Z and Andre."

Your children are Transporter/Statham fans, eh?

Shawn Cannon (shawncannon) | 15 comments A confession. My name is Shawn Cannon and I'm a recovering Statham fan. I generally have lapses every time he comes out with a new movie.

Why the piss can't he just come out wth a decent flick?

Your review was on par.

Sorry, man. It's not his fault; he has to work with the script, and that script, and the money they sank in that movie, must've looked good. And, frankly, I don't know any actor who wouldn't give his first-born to play opposite Donald Sutherland. But in the movies you need luck to make the elements gel, and that director is plumb outta luck.

Robin (rreed) | 19 comments I was interested in the title of this thread because Jeff Bridges was computerized into a younger version of himself for Tron Legacy. Also, dead movie stars have made short appearances in movies. So it's not that much of a stretch to think of making a movie starring a dead movie star.

I saw Tron, and a wonderful job Disney did too on making Jeff Bridges look 40 again. The biggest shareholder of Disney (a nephew of the great man) lives just down the road here; I sometimes walk across his land; maybe I should pop in to see if he's looking suspiciously younger.
