SOLVED. YA brother and sister in an avalanche [s]

I read this when I was 12 ish I think and it had a brother and a sister that got stuck in an avalanche and had to make it down the mountain (I think thats what they did). I am sure that there were 2 kids and an avalanche the rest is fuzzy.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the Peg Kehret book "Nightmare Mountain," but with cousins, not brother and sister. Looks like it was published in 1989 -- is that too new to be your book? (I don't know what year you were 12ish.) :)

But I'd guess there are a lot of books with that premise.
