RULE: Changing Your Chip RequestEffective immediately
A change to a chip placement request will be allowed, IF:
1. No other teams have posted requests after you -AND-
2. I have not acknowledged your request or placed your chip yet
ok. my question is about the double chip thing. Can you place 2 chips at a time? hold back & stack them? Is there a definite rule. It would be a fast win that way. I was just looking at the board, and without a block, some of us could win within a week. OR is there something that forces a single play followed by a single play, etc. until the last person in has a double play? This seems stupid, but I played this as a kid with my sister & it is all about stratagy (sp). Double stacks could end it quicker though... I am not trying to make any waves, or groans, I was just curious. Why block when you can win per say?

Sassy, just because a team has two in a row doesn't mean they can win with two more chips. The only way to do that is to have your 2 in a row vertically. If they're horizontal or diagonal, don't forget that the rows have to be built up first. For example, if we needed B4 & C4 to win, both the B & C columns would need chips in all 3 spots beneath--B1, B2, B3, C1, C2 and C3. Easier said than done. :)
Winning in this game is going to prove harder than we originally thought. :)
And the bonus of having 2 chips each week is you can block a team that needs to be blocked, but still have a chip left for your team. A defensive chip and an offensive chip. With just one chip per week, if you needed to block another team, it felt like a wasted chip since you weren't advancing your team.
So my opinion on placing 2 chips at a time is that it is fine. You are making the decision to wait and place both chips at once, at the risk that another team will block you or take a spot you wanted, since you waited.
Like you said, it's all about strategy, and with each different strategy, you have the potential of reaping rewards or getting screwed. :)
So - both chips can be placed at the same time. But I'm assuming all chips for that week must be placed before the next week's categories are posted. If a team member doesn't finish a book within the week, does that team forfeit a chip? Is there a cut-off time for the week's chip placement request?
I'm assuming it's like Bingo, Cindy, no forfeiture, just have to wait till all books are read, reviewed and rated, to place the chip.We realise that sometimes RL just gets in the way, and this game is about fun, so we aren't into punishment for lateness. That is the duty of their team mates. bwahhhaaaaaaa
As always Game Master has the final say.
ETA: I wouldn't assume that chips have to be placed for the next categories to be announced. We never waited in Bingo.
Game Master completely agrees. No forfeit, no time limit. If it takes a team 2 weeks for all 4 to read, rate and review, they wait 2 weeks to place their chips. Both chips can be placed at the same time assuming all 4 members have R,R&R'd their books. They can choose to hold off on their first chip after two members have finished in order to place both at the same time, or they can choose to post 1 chip now and 1 chip later. All up to the team(s).
Kinda goes with the first part of my post, but no, all chips do not have to be placed before the next week's categories are announced.
Hope all that makes sense.
Michelle wrote: "But what if a team decided to keep 2 wks chips and just place 4-in-a-row. That wouldn't be fair."No that would not be fair and would not be allowed. The only time chips can be held is in the event a team prefers to hold their request for their first chip until the other two members have read their books, allowing them to place two chips at once.
Once all four members of the team have RR&R'd their books, the team must request chip placement for that wk's two chips before they can place their chips for the next week's categories.
No team will be allowed to hold four chips and request placement for all at one time.
Alll Riiiight! Sounds great! My brain was working too hard on all the strategy & I went into a "hmmm. we can beat the system" mode, so I had to ask! Thanks for the answer!

For "Fae/Fairy" category (7/3/11), all types accepted. Here's a list from the web to help:

That was quick! Congratulations to our CC4 R1 Winners: Purple People Eaters (B1) and Jade Dragons (B2)! WTG!! :D

Bingo is a bit more leisure, and it takes longer. CC4 is fast and furious. :)I like the idea of alternating the two games--I don't think I could do two rounds of CC4 in a row. ;)
Jessica, Vivian suggested the next categories should be a Purple cover, or a dragon character. But, of course!

      @Laura, I agree. Couldn't do back-to-back CC4. Alternating is a must for me. @Cindy/Vivian, good idea. :)
CONGRATS to the two winning teams!
The next game will be Bingo. Should be up soonish....I'm kinda new here too, so not really sure how much "down time" Steph needs inbetween these big games!

Hi, Aneeqah. Cindy's right. Our next team game will be Book Shelf Bingo. I'll be posting more details very soon. Steph needs waaaay more down time between games than she takes. BUT, loves the enthusiasm and playing along with everyone! >;)
A whole month without categories?????? *gnashes teeth* How will I survive? How will I pick books to read?? Will I really HAVE to plan my challenge books??? *sighs*
*sighs again*
My poor bookshelves......I hope they don't crumble under the weight of all those tomes just waiting for a category or shelf here to point me in the right direction.....

I saw the Bingo thread and had a moments panic, I thought I missed the sign-up! Panic over :)
LOL.Me too! First thing I thought when I saw the R3 threads: "How did I miss the sign up???" Panic attack barely averted.
Haha, Daffodil. I was feeling the same way. Somehow I accidentally marked all my GR e-mails as spam. So, I almost freaked when I saw the whole Bingo R3 set up. If I had missed signing up, I would have been crying in the background of all the team threads or something. Lol.

I'm still panicking!!!! I NEED to sign up NOW!!!!!!Work has been horrendous this week..... The day after a holiday is always bad, but we were short 1 window clerk and our dispatch clerk. I kept being pulled from 1 job to the other. Felt like a ping-pong ball!
The rest of the week hasn't been any better. Well, maybe just a little.
I would feel like I had my own little slice of heaven if I could sign up for Bingo now....SIGH....I need it!
LOL! Sorry for the scare, girlies, just starting to get my ducks in a row in prep for R3. Announcement to be posted in a few secs and sign-up thread to be posted later today. :D
