@Erato...love the idea of the theme for the tunes...
Who is on drink duty? I'll be making Margaritas on the rocks with a float of Amaretto on top ....any one care to join me?

OK, cheese puffs I understand (Cheetos here) but caramel cheese puffs????

book I just finished reading they were drinking grapefruit juice mixed with ginger ale....could be a light refreshing drink....i have never tried that....

The cheese corn I eat is just super-cheEezy popcorn. (Never heard of the cheese-corn/Cheetos thing. Learn something new every day!) I bet the carmel-cheese popcorn is actually good though. Like the concept behind salted caramels.....yuuummmm!

i just got a margaritaville machine! i can blend them for you!!!

hey! i am in TN where they had to make it legal to eat roadkill!
an old man told me once he hit a raccoon on Halloween & was running down the road in a superman costume. He was laughing because he was in the costume, and I was laughing because he stopped for the roadkill!! Ewwwww!

I love you, but I can't understand anything you say. The spouse and I flew into Knoxville and then drove to Ashville in NC...we asked for directions 5 times and never understood anything that was said to us. I told him it would be horribly ego-bruising to get lost in our own country because we didn't speak the language! ;P
Of course, I sound like an anchorwoman on the 7 o'clock news. Those of us in the Pacific NW have no accent and my g-ma taught English for 40 years so enunciation is BIG in my family.
I would be great on those phone menus...
...for customer service, press 3...

Is that animal fat fried in vegetable oil? Go Texas! (How does that taste BTW?)

LMAO!! J/K! I'm still waiting on Miss Kristen. Once I get her confirmation, I will get Mr. Randomizer to shuffle everyone up and put cha into teams.
NOTE: Inga had to pass. She has some awesome wilderness trips planned for the summer and would be without internet access. So, Nici is playing in her stead.
@Rebecca ~ Sorry, but we'd already reached our cut-off for this round. I can put you on the back-up list, if you'd like. Be sure to cheer everyone on though. :)
@Lily, Sarah & Daffodil ~ LOL! I see how dangerous ya'll can be when you gang up. ;) And how much fun!
@Michelle ~ Congrats on your upcoming wedding anniversary!
@Lethal ~ I hope so. We can help each other out if we find the categories challenging.
@Dana ~ Love the music playlist.
I think I covered everyone's questions. If I missed one, please let me know.
I'll try to hunt down Kristen. Hopefully, I'll have the team lists up very soon. :D

@Sassy That is funny and eww at the sametime

ROTFLMAO! I am originally from California! My husband is from Seattle!! I had to learn to lip read when I got here, because I could not understand anyone! EVEN their names! I totally understand!! People used to say I sound like the people on TV! GEEEEZ! Just funny thinking about it!! You are very right, in all your observations!

United Nations: Whole bunch of different countries/languages come together.
United States: Whole bunch of states/dialects come together. (Same thing smaller scale.)
United Kingdom: See U.S. description above. (We yanks used the UK as a pattern apparently!)
*Only DUDE! The Scots totally wins this. Gaelic is monster tough to understand and WTF with the pronounciations???
Red...easy, right? rrrr-eh-duh = red
Oh, NOOOO! Not in Scots Gaelic.
Dearg (if memory serves) = red
You would think duh-eahhh-rrrr-guh, right? NO!
Instead it is something like...djar-rahck...seriously? djar-rahck = dearg?
No wonder I'm not a linguist! ;)

Loved caramel popcorn as a kid, sadly they stopped making it 20 yrs ago or so. Don't think I could cope with cheese on it as well. *ugh*
Love all this talk of accents, cause I sure don't have one ... g'day mate!!!!! LOL
It's 4.30pm now time to crank up those margaritas girls. *slurp* thanks ....

And has anyone had actual ginger ale, like not the Canada dry stuff (which I love, don't get me wrong), but the real stuff actually tastes like ginger which was trippy for me who has only known of the fake stuff all my life.

Yep, on the ginger ale, we get the real stuff here as well as the fake one.
And I love how we sometimes get subtitles on tv for people whose english is so bad no-one can understand it. LOL.

Not to worry! I'm fairly sure I saw it on the side of the freeway today. ;P
If not, oppossum and muskrat taste just like chicken, right?
I've never had the real stuff. Does the ginger clear your sinuses and zap your tongue? I bet it's tasty!

Thanks for posting the pic of the popcorn...*busy wiping drool from my chin*....
I get a brand of ginger ale from Jamaica....oh momma stop the presses that is the bomb diggity.....

That sounds like a good drink.....I ll have to give that a try this weekend and report back after my campout..

What I end up doing when I spend a bunch of time with people with accents I start talking like them....When I get mad I end up talking very British....
I didnt think that Canadians had an accent until I worked in the US....oh my goodness I was teased about how I would say roof, garage, about...just to name a few.....
Well time to get ready for work and keep on with my reading.....
I am sure will need that Margarita this evening...

Do you speak Gaelic? If so, my hat is off to you! Hard stuff Maynard.
And I must say, the accent there takes some tongue dexterity. Just give me one minute. I'll have a beverage (or 3) over at Zina and Sassy's cocktail lounge and then my tongue will be up to the challenge.
Of course, after 3 beverages, if I start rolling my 'r's I may get stuck and not be able to stop. I'll sound like a purring tiger! *grin*

Lol! I don't speak Gaelic although sometimes it might sound like it. I'm from Glasgow so we have a tendency to speak Glaswegian which is a language all on it's own with lots of half spoke words. Takes some getting used to! :)

Tacos???? I'll bring the nachos!

And Zina - I'm with you on the accents. Once, I was watching a movie that took place in the South, and ended up drawling for a little afterwards, lol. But I can't roll my R's, which I've always been very sad about :(
We have gone sooo off topic! But only a couple more days til the game starts, huzzah!

It's all popcorn--the cheese corn is just popcorn with orange cheese powder on it, similar to the cheetos "orange fingers" cheese. Then they mix the cheese corn with caramel corn. It is an awesome "sweet & savory" combo.
It was even one of Oprah's "Favorite Things" last year. :)
And here's where you get the best popcorn in the entire world. Truly, their caramel corn is amazing. Which in turn, makes the Chicago mix crazy amazing. ;)

And no, deep fried Twinkies aren't a Chicago thing. The actual Twinkie was invented in a Chicago suburb, but deep frying them was introduced for the first time at the Texas State Fair.

In Texas we all have different accents like in east texas talk different from people in south and so on

Now, go get your chat on and pick a team name! :D First two categories will be announced Sunday, 5 June by mid-day Japan time.

Yep, that's how I was imagining it. Glad to know I was wrong. Seem to remember Oprah and Garrett popcorn in giant buckets?

But now, all is almost right with the world. Sunday mid-day, Steph said....that's roughly 36 hours from NOW (midnight Friday in Steph's corner of the world~mine, too!)...YAY!
Hand me chocolate while I pace ..... ooohh, definitely easier with the tunes .....
And WTH is cheese corn?
