Maya should definately end up with Daniel. No question. I think Rafe is just a distractor (like Simon was in "Darkest Powers"). No it's definately Daniel. They are very close and I sense a relationship in the making.(what do you think Melissa?)

- Maya said she like Daneil, but not as much as Serena, so she let Serena ask to to dance. (Or however they first ended up together.) For all we know Daniel and Serena could have only ended up together because she made the first move. I am sure Daniel did like Serena, but if Maya had made the first move maybe he already liked her or would have and he might have ended up with Maya.
- Also Maya's Dad mentions he likes Daniel and that he takes care of Maya. I know he is a drunk, but Daniel's father also says to Maya "Can't stay away, can you? Always coming around teasing the boy." The boy as in Daniel. I just think they maybe other people might see something between Maya and Daniel that they themselves don't even see yet.
- Maya's Dad mentioning that Daniel takes care of her brings us the fact, that along with Rafe, Daniel is also very protective over Maya.
- When talking about Serena, Daniel refereed himself as the boyfriend, but he didn't even call Serena his girlfriend. He said, "She was friend. A really good friend."
- I know some people think that if Daniel and Maya ended up together it would be weird because he would be thinking of Serena. And no one wants to feel like second place. But I think if it turned out that he realizes he loves Maya more then he did Serena, that it could work. I do believe Daniel cared for Serena and maybe even loved her, but maybe he wasn't in love with her. I mean they were pretty younger. Like 15. It probably seems harsh since Serena died, but if it happened you just can't help who you fall for.
DANIEL DANIEL DANIEL.The girl falling for the bad boy is REALLY getting old. As I've learned with Kelley Armstrong is she doesn't usually go with the usual love stories, so I really hope Maya and Daniel end up together.
I'm pretty sure they would be together already if Maya had not let Serena make the first move. And as someone said before, they were young. Even IF Serena hadn't died, they probably would have broken up. You can't help who you fall for or what happens to those around you. Serena's death was sad, but it shouldn't hold two people who care for each other back.
I don't know. It's hard because I don't think Rafe really IS that "bad boy" and he and Maya have a bond that is near-chemical...i don't know how it works with them both being skin-walkers but I think that it would make them more likely to fall for each other but Daniel and Maya definately have feelings for each other too...that's obvious to me and I really like the idea of them being together, especially when Daniel is so integrated into Maya's family/life already...In short, I really like tham both and as time goes on, I think it will become clearer who she's interested in...whichever way it goes, I just hope that one of them doesn't get completely heartbroken...that it's a neat ending.

He acts like a bad boy, and that's close enough. I mean how many times can they regurgitate 'bad boy with a soft side that he only shows to the girl he likes'?
It's just annoying for me. -.-
And honestly I rather have Maya end up with a totally new guy than Rafe. Just don't like Rafe..

I am currently reading The Gathering and I think Maya should end up with Daniel. You're right, the-bad-boy-with-the-soft-side-that-he-only-shows-to-the-girl-he-likes is getting really tiring, and as far as warming up to Rafe, I really haven't yet. It's like the Darkest Powers trilogy when Simon was just the initial love interest. Kelley takes a different path than in the other romances we see in books so frequently. I think Daniel and Maya don't realize they have feelings for each other yet, and even though I detest love triangles, I just really want to see some romance between the two. Daniel is so protective, and he's already such a big part of Maya's life. To me, Rafe is just...a nuisance. I'm sorry, he's a good guy I guess, but I'm being a little biased cause I like Daniel a lot better xD
Daniel. No question.I didn't like how Rafe just swooned in, picked the girl he wanted, and just got her. And like you all said, his image got tiring. It seriously annoyed me how he just popped out of nowhere. So all that is left to say is ..

I'm 50/50. I do like Maya and Rafe together. They have undeniable chemistry, I think, and do have strong feelings for each other, though Rafe was gone for the majority of The Calling, which made more room for Daniel and Maya, and prevented the relationship between Rafe and Maya to grow further. I also like Daniel and Maya, and I'm sure that everyone, including Daniel himself, knows that Daniel has feelings for Maya, except Maya, especially when Sam commented that Rafe "stole" Maya. I also think that Maya MAY have feelings for Daniel as well and doesn't realize it, or at least is attracted to him, because when she lists the reasons why many girls in Salmon Creek fall for him, I kind of got the impression that she's attracted to him because of those things as well. Also, Daniel is the person she trusts the most, even more than Rafe, and she wanted to go against Rafe's wishes in The Calling and tell Daniel that Rafe was bugged. I'm sure in The Rising there will be a kiss between Daniel and Maya, and Maya may realize she has feelings for both boys and will have to choose. Either way, I'll be fine with either pairing, but I actually think I like Daniel and Maya more, because they've known each other for longer, and Daniel's always been there for her, and they have a more comfortable relationship.

Rafe. I think se should be with Rafe. I feel bad for Daniel and now Maya because she is confused about her feelings but I want her to be with Rafe because they have chemistry and i just really like Rafe and it think it's better if she is with him. RAFE PLEASE
Sense in the next book Maya and her group are gonna meet the old group from the Darkest Powers series. Is it weird I think Maya and Simon would be cool?? But between Rafe and Daniel I have to say Rafe, but you never know with Kelly Armstrong. In the Darkest Powers I was routing for Simon and Chloe but then she switched it up with her and Derek. I guess I feel Simon deserves some love too. :3
