Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Help Us Build a Category List for our Next Team Challenge!
Any & all suggestions welcome!

Our next team challenge will use categories instead of shelves. If you're thinking of joining us, I thought it'd be a great way to include you in the creation of the game. Plus, it'd really help me out. :)

You are not required to sign-up just because you suggest a category. All suggestions are welcome, from players or cheerleaders alike!

Suggestions should be like regular reading challenge categories (eg: a book with a red cover; a sword on the cover; a character who's a shifter; etc). They should also be categories that will be common enough for (hopefully) all members to quickly and easily find a book that fits it.

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) | 1603 comments Zombies!

How about words in the book title or series name? Some popular ones are Shadow, Night, Blood, Magic, Fire, Light, etc.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Good ones! :D Zombies are gettin' a lotta love this month. (May is Zombie Awareness Month) hehe Shameless plug for Ames & I

I'll add them now! Thanks :D

message 5: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I'd add Dragons & Blue covers. LOL

Diane ~Firefly~ | 913 comments The characters of the zodiac.

This could either be a cover hunt or a character hunt or even a trait hunt.

Examples for Gemini:
Cover - two people on cover
Character - a story with twins
Traits - a character that has the gift of gab

Diane ~Firefly~ | 913 comments more character types: angel, deity, fae

more title/series words: curse, dark, dead, fury, grave, hunt, wicked

cover items: necklace/talisman, lightning

another idea is a color hunt based on the color the title is written in.

Josie | 1967 comments Cool idea Diane, I like the star signs ones - it could be a challenge all on its own lol :)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 1360 comments Umm...*Lethal sits in thinking chair* I got nothing. Succubi/incubi maybe for types?

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments What about a person with tattoos on the cover.

I really like the zodiac idea! I just don't want to have to be the one to figure out the cover, character, and traits for each sign.....

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Book with mostly writing on the cover instead of a picture of some kind.

This also brought the I Spy challenge to my mind. Which I never did finish.

message 14: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments The I Spy Challenge is a yearly and hasn't finished yet Mary. You could probably use books you've already read to fill in the gaps.

message 15: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Josie wrote: "Cool idea Diane, I like the star signs ones - it could be a challenge all on its own lol :)"

I was thinking the same thing!

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Thanks, guys! Lots of fantastic categories. I think that'll do us. If any add'l ones are needed, I'll grab from Laura Lulu's iSpy challenge.

More info on the challenge coming very soon! Thanks for all your input! :D

message 17: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments I know which categories I'm missing and I just haven't gotten them in yet. I have that it ends in July.

No worries. Not like I'll get kicked out of hte group if I don't finish right?

message 18: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments How about one of the categories to read a trilogy start to finish. Not necessarily one after the other but all 3 during the challenge.

And then various series #'s. Like read a 1st, 2nd, 3 etc.., And a read the Last book of a series (like a dead series where the last book is already out).
(books not all having to be from the same series.)

message 19: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments Mary, if you find the I spy challenge fun, just keep reading. You don't lose marks if you're late to the finish. It's just for fun and a way to trim down Mount TBR. You can do it!

message 20: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments What ^she^ said! :D No, definitely no boot if ya don't finish. It's all in fun.

Tatoos seem to be all over cover UF cover art.
