Many moons ago I worked in a department store. I was in the storeroom receiving stock into the inventory. But because a couple of times a day I transferred stock onto the shop floor if I wore a skirt I had to wear tights (pantyhose). Do you know how much damage cardboard boxes can do to a decent pair of tights?
At least they had just changed the rules to allow clean, smart jeans - everyone was very excited about that - but one person was nearly fired for wearing dungarees.

That sounds great!

It has its interests. Helps that it's historically significant.

I really ehjoyed that one. It had little twists that the reader had to figure out but it didn't drag out the 'suspense' too long. I also felt there was goood differentiation between the worlds.

and started We Have Always Been Here in ARC, fascinating and capably satisfying my interest in feminist SF.
Just before this I read Burn-In: A Novel of the Real Robotic Revolution and Ghost Fleet: A Novel of the Next World War, both excellent near-future Scientific SF.

It has been way too long since I last read this series and I am not sure I have EVER read the whole series in the correct order.

I read the third, fourth and fifth before the first and second due to latter three being serialized in Galaxy back in the day.

The tv adaptation is pretty good as well.

Yep. The story is about going back in time to try and stop the Kennedy assassination. Pretty good so far and there's some Easter Eggs from IT. Makes me think I should go read that book, too.

What is "MC"?

Looks interesting. Will either have to get it myself or suggest it to my library (and then get my fines paid so I actually read it).

You should live here. People rarely wear ties even to weddings.
When Motorola came here their dress code required a tie but after a few months they gave up and switched to a smart, collared T-shirt.
