Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Hi Everybody. Chrissie told me about that grroup, that you were reading Moloka'i as the June book. I recently read it and loved it so much it made my favorites shelf. I even invited the author to join as a Goodreads' author member and I hope he eventually does. He did promptly respond and was a real sweetheart.

I also read (a long time ago) and liked The Plot Against America, but I doubt I'll start posting until next month as my time right now is extremely limited and I'm already too much of a Goodreads' addict.

Anyway, I hope to stick around and talk about further group books. I have a feeling I'd love or like most of the books and this seems to be a wonderful group. I see two of my friends are members already.

Chrissie Lisa, glad you joined us! As I told you and mentioned in the thread about the coming June first book discussion of Moloka'i, I did ask Alan Brennert to join us in the discussion if he could. He made no promises, but hopefully he will join us a bit for the discussion. I haven't read Moloka'i but have heard such marvellous things about it from Lisa and numerous other friends.

I had contacted Alan to see what could be done to make the Kindle version available to Europeans. It should be available pretty soon, but maybe not in time for me to take part in the discussion. We'll see. Anyhow, I hope he comes and visits the group discussion. He was really a nice guy. How many authors answer emails immediately? How many authors immeditately contact their publisher to straighten out such problems? You must admeit he has been ever so nice!!

Glad you are here Lisa. I know, GR really is a huge time consumer....... but we love it!

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Chrissie, Thanks again for letting me know about this group. I think.
;-) Alan Brennert also responded to my email (to ask him to join Goodreads) within a day, and he was sick! He's a nice guy. I loved Moloka'i and I hope you get to read a copy soon, Chrissie. And I want to get to Brennert's other books asap.

Cheryl (cherylllr) I have too many groups, too - but this is one of my favorites! I hope we all can (continue to) make time for it.

Cheryl, I've been looking around and I can see why it's a favorite. I hope to stick around too.

Chrissie Cheryl, we have to somehow glue her here...... Any ideas how?! Just joking, Lisa. You must decide for yourself.

Janice (jamasc) | 59889 comments Hi, and welcome Lisa. I hope you enjoy this group.

I also contacted Alan Brennert. I also sent him an invitation to join Goodreads and our group.

He responded right away and mentioned that he had been sick and missed over a month of writing on his new book, so is quite behind in schedule. He may pop by during our discussion.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Janice, I just love how responsive it is. He told me the same thing about being sick and being behind with his next book.

Thanks for the welcome.
