Valerie HA! I would totally eat that. Not every day, mind you, but I'm a sucker for the combination of sweet and savory... like blueberry sausage with maple syrup, or really good pieces of caramel with big salt crystals on top.

Am I the only one?

shellyindallas god those look gross. sweet and savory is v. popular in the culinary world these days. maple bacon donuts, bacon flavored chocolate bars etc.
it's too early for me to give better examples, but, you know, basically the concept of a chocolate covered almond on crack.

Valerie Wait a second... Gåry, the original poster, still hasn't weighed in on whether he would eat this or not...

Gåry: are you one of the "faint at heart"?

message 9: by Lori (new)

Lori Has no appeal to me whatsoever!

message 10: by Gåry! (new)

Gåry! (garyneill) oh, I'd eat it.

Valerie I don't know of any Moroccan food restaurants in my area, Bunny...

message 12: by Lori (new)

Lori Ah, now Moroccan food is great, much much better than bacon and donuts, the thought of which makes me vurp.

message 13: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Is Moroccan food close to any other food culture (that you can describe that might possibly be in my area)?

Lori Not really, Val. Altho certain northern African, MidEast or Southern Europe dishes might come close. In Spain I had a lamb and prunes dish that was very similar to the Moroccan version. But there's one dish, I forget the name of, I've never seen anywhere else. It's almost like a fat crepe with powedred sugar on top, with lamb and other stuff inside. Mmmmmmm. Delicious!

Lori I knew you'd come thru, Bunny. :)

Valerie I didn't think I could be hungry after the dinner that I had tonight, but you guys are working on it :)

jennifer (mascarawand) | 21 comments I was thinking Indian, as kashmiry is often made with meat and cherries, sometimes mango. The vegetable biryani we get at our local Indian is a rice dish made with golden raisins, broccoli, cashews...yummy.
