Erin This is a rather strange request and I wasn't sure where to post it. I am going to be in charge of collecting and organizing a book recommendation list for a large non profit group of volunteers. I am wondering what the best program would be to use to maintain that list. Goodreads is unfortunately not an option. The ideal presentation would allow for a hardcopy and electronic version, photo of the book cover, along with the name, author, and synopsis of the book as well as the publication date. I'm debating having the option of letting people post reviews as well, but then the site would need to be more interactive and I'm not certain that would be the best way to go for this group. Any great ideas out there?

Kat (thatcrazykatlady) LibraryThing.com?

Dee (austhokie) | 618 comments why is goodreads not an option? out of curiosity - librarything and shelfari both operate similarly and IIRC vyou have the pay to use librarything

because all the info you are looking for can be seen when using a bookshelf view - and you could set up a private group to do so...otherwise, maybe just hosting the last in google docs (or something else easily accessible) where you can update it

Kat (thatcrazykatlady) You only have to pay to use LibraryThing if you have over 250 books in the system.

I dunno, I think it would actually work better for the purposes of her group to use LibraryThing rather than Goodreads. It's more intuitive, IMHO.

Dee (austhokie) | 618 comments but as she didn't say how many books/ number of members/ purpose of the group - it is hard to gauge which would be more appropriate
