Why do you think it's so hard for Ruby to ask for or accept help?

I think that it is hard for Ruby to ask for or accept help because for so many years when she was living with her mom, or alone, it wasnt available and she was able to live without it, and now she thinks that it makes her weak to need help, and that she owes someone when she gets help. She doesnt want to be in debt.

I agree, Abby. I think that the last thing Ruby wants is to be indebted to someone - anyone - including her family.
