I finished reading Songs Of The Humpback Whale last night and it was awful. Today I've started reading All We Know of Heaven by Jacquelyn Mitchard.
I finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King this afternoon and it was brilliant! Now I've started reading Four to Score by Janet Evanovich.
Right now I'm reading Blue Sky Days by Marie Landry. I got it free as one of those read & review things. I'm 5 or 6 chapters into it so far and it's pretty boring. the novel is not very well written and its meant to be a YA romance novel but the main characters who are 19 & 22 talk like their in their 60's! And if that wasn't bad enough, the love story is far too unrealistic, so I'm finding it very hard to connect with the characters. I think this is one novel where I'm definitely going to struggle through it.
I decided its about time I started reading more classics so yesterday I started reading
by Emily Bronte.
My copy of "Dark Lies the Island," Kevin Barry's new collection, is on its way to me in Germany. Greatly anticipated, and exciting to see what all the buzz is about after the Sunday Times Short Story prize was awarded last week.
Just finished
and
, and really enjoyed them both. Started on
which seems like an interesting take of 'on the road' type stories.
I'm currently on the last stages of Heartstone. Sorry to relate I'm disappointed in this Shardlake book. Loved all the others but this is slow and fragmented. Also in the middle of The Great Mortality: An Intimate History of the Black Death, the Most Devastating Plague of All Time. It's non-fiction but as riveting as any novel.
I've just finished Hot Six by Janet Evanovich, now I'm reading Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
I've finished reading Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell last night and I absolutely loved it! Today I've started A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard.
I've finished Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris this afternoon and now I'm reading White Oleander by Janet Fitch.
Hi Claire,To my shame I’m reading a book called ‘Marketing in the Social Media’ as I’m trying to promote my book ‘A Recipe for Disaster’ by John Henry, you can find it on Goodreads, Amazon etc. It’s the one with the big black shoe and a banana skin.
Have a look at it and if you’re interested but don’t want to buy yet I can send you a short synopsis.
It’s intended to be a laugh out loud account of a couple in Ireland and has been well received so far.
I am also in the process of releasing another book, much more downbeat, focusing on the current difficult economic situation but again intended to be uplifting.
And lastly I’m working on a sequel to the “Recipe.”
Best regards
John
