Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) | 1045 comments The size of the books was a little intimidating to me. I can handle bigger books now. I don't care how long they are anymore, I'm going to read them with great anticipation.

Kandice I can't see your picture:( We went to the Midnight Madness for the last 3. Darby and Brady dressed up, but Shaun was "Too cool" for that. He wasn't too cool to stay up all night reading, though!!

message 4503: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh, but it's so much fun. They handed every child a pair of Harry Potter glasses, a little (tiny, only 4) bag of Bertie Bott's every flavor beans, and they got a polaroid with the cut outs of Harry, Ron and Hermione. There were readings, games, it was great. Ours was at Barnes and Noble's.

message 4504: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yeah they were fun! I went to them for the last 3. Total chaos, it was fantastic.

message 4505: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I got Wives and Daughters in from BookMooch today too! Yay.

message 4506: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I didn't like the miniseries that much. But I think the book will be much better.

message 4507: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison, you ahve an exciting life with all these deliveries of movies and books. I get excited about mail! (well, mail that's not a bill)

message 4508: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol, I know. BookMooch rocks. I only have a couple more things coming though...then I'm taking a break from it. Shipping got a tad expensive.

K...I'm off again, hubby and I are going to Subway. :) Its within walking distance, very nice.

message 4509: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm hungry too. I ate those two little eggrolls, and that's it.
I have 2 hours and 15 minutes left. aaaaargghh

message 4510: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I thought sims was where you simulated a farm or amusement park or something. Is there also a different kind of thing?

message 4511: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Is it a game? You mean you just make up kids and things? Can you win? HOW do you win?

message 4512: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ummm... WOW! I had no idea! I didn't read the entie thing yet, but I haven't gotten to the sex part. I swear, that's like something out of an Asimov novel.

message 4513: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Haha! I just read the part about the cheat code allowing you to see Barbie and Ken like genitals! Hilarious. You couldn't make that up and be believed.

message 4514: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Today is Barbie's 50th birthday. They made a cugar Barbie video.

message 4515: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I feel better :) I love Subway. I just hate the way you smell when you leave. When I worked there I always dove straight into the shower when I got home.

message 4516: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL...naked Sims? Thats so funny.

message 4517: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I hate the way my car smells when I've driven around with the sandwiches for even just a little while. Gross. But I love to eat them. What kind did you get?

message 4518: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's why I don't really think King is a horror writer. Yes, he is writing about technically scary stuff, but it's not even remotely realistic to me. Misery, Cujo and Gerlad's Game are things that could really, truly happen, so are much scarier to me.

message 4519: by Kandice (new)

Kandice A dog that gets rabies. He lives out in the middle of no where, and havoc entails. It's very, very good. King draws all the characters with such detail, that you physically hurt for them. I have always carried in my car a box with water and snacks because of that book.

message 4520: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I got a club! :)

message 4521: by Kandice (new)

Kandice A club to carry in the car as a result of Cujo? LOL

message 4522: by Kandice (new)

Kandice See, I can imagine blood coming out of a book very seriously, but if a director tries to film that, it just doesn't translate!

message 4523: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) a club sandwich!

message 4524: by Kandice (new)

Kandice OMG I am such a moron! Sorry X)

message 4525: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hahaha, of course you are not!

message 4526: by Kandice (new)

Kandice As far as Cujo goes, that book completely translated to screen. Dee Wallace Stone (the mom from E.T) plays the main character, and she should have won an Oscar.

message 4527: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I did a pig, Fiona :)

message 4528: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha ha! I didn't know if anyone would get it. My Templeton doesn't look like a rat.

message 4529: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Damn I came back to 400 and something posts!

That cougar Barbie video was halirious!

message 4530: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think it feels like tons! I have been conciously trying to check between every task at work for an opportunity to post.

message 4531: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh! I friended myself. It really does say silly! Too cute.

message 4532: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay! over 600 posts since I was here last. I don't think I can catch up. I think that 9000 posts would not be out of the questions for March 1st. You all up for it!

message 4533: by [deleted user] (new)

Rachel that picture is so cute!

message 4534: by [deleted user] (new)

I've only read the first Harry Potter book but told my son that I will read them to him once we finish war of the worlds.

message 4535: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) But we need only a couple more for 7000. You can't go to bed!

message 4536: by [deleted user] (new)

Jackie: you aren't the only one to come back to tons of posts! I think your a head of me. I'm going backwards.

message 4537: by [deleted user] (new)

Come now Fiona you can't leave yet with so few to hit 7000.

message 4538: by [deleted user] (new)

Do any of you think that this particular thread is the longest thread in any GR book group?

I think potentially that it is.

message 4539: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) That's the spirit Fiona!

message 4540: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Emilee, I've been meaning to re-read HP for the last year and just haven't made the time for it. How did you son enjoy it? Has he seen the movies?

message 4541: by Kandice (new)

Kandice No, but you could read a really short kids books.

message 4542: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Some of us were talking about trying to schedule a time to do a re-read of the whole HP series. You could read for the first time with us:)

message 4543: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't read that book since like 1989. I remember that "It" was huge. My girlfriend and I read it one night when we were suppose to have a sleep over. We couldn't sleep it scared us.

message 4544: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think I would like to listen to them on CD. I never did, and would probably enjoy that and it would count as a re-read. It would take forever, though, since I listen on my work commute only.

message 4545: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You are an adult Miss Sassy Pants. I bet it was scary to little girls!

message 4546: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm off in 8 minutes. I don't think I'll see 7000:(

message 4547: by [deleted user] (new)

There you go, Harry Potter re-read. Sad thing is that I own all of them in first editions but couldn't get them away from my daughters. I read them the 1st book after that they were reading on their own.

We are going on vacation April 2nd so I told my son we would take at least the 1st & 2nd HP book with us and read it by the pool if the weather is nice we would lay on a blanket by the Mississippi.

message 4548: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What's that? (skiver)

message 4549: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Mississippi is beautiful.

message 4550: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm OFF!!!! That's not truancy!
