Kandice wrote: "My husband, as a side thing, makes these beautiful poker tables by hand and then sells them. He and a lot of his friends play poker all the time, and every couple of months or so they have an organ..."

That sounds really awesome. How do they turn out?

Rachel wrote: "Eek... Karaoke. Just the thought of it gives me stage fright."

Ooooh yeah me too... i hate karaoke :S

message 4353: by Kandice (new)

Kandice He really does beautiful work. He orders this special "speed cloth" for the dealing surface and he uses all different types of woods, finishes anddifferent colored leathers for the borders. He does cup holders if people want them, all kinds of stuff. It started when he bought an expensive tabel to have for their games and it was really just crappy. He said he could do better, and has been ever since!

Allison (inconceivably) I only do karaoke in groups. Big ones. Big ones where I'm in the back farthest away from the microphone.

message 4355: by Kandice (new)

Kandice But, Rachel, if you are with friends, in the house, it is sooooo much fun!

That is so awesome. I wish my husband was more creative...

Allison wrote: "I only do karaoke in groups. Big ones. Big ones where I'm in the back farthest away from the microphone."

LOL I still probably wouldn't do it

message 4358: by Kandice (new)

Kandice We bought a Karaoke system from a D.J friend of ours. We have it attached to a big t.v. and you can "improve" your voice with the settings. There are four mics, but as many people as you can shove together can sing at once.

message 4359: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha... I only sing in the car, when no one can hear me.

message 4360: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You guys are silly! No one expects you to sound like Celine Dion, or Cher! Who, by the way, is my favorite artist as far as singing her songs go! Especially Gypsies Tramps and Thieves! I always do it at least twice.

message 4361: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Linda, I'm not trying to push anyone into alocholism, but what if oyu had a few drinks? Do you think you would then? Fiona?

message 4362: by [deleted user] (new)

Hahaha I might, I'm not much of a drinker, so you never know what could happen

message 4363: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You WOULD NOT!!!! Oh how I wish you could come over:)

message 4364: by [deleted user] (new)

Fiona- I agree, I don't like alcohol either, hence the "I'm not much of a drinker" lol

message 4365: by Kandice (last edited Feb 27, 2009 11:20AM) (new)

Kandice Well I am not a "booze hound", but when we have people over, I usually have at least one drink, possibly two if it's going on super late. My husband drinks beer while he's playing poker, but very slowly! He likes to take advantage of the lushes! Ha ha.
It's very different doing it at home, as opposed to one of those lounges. There is one some of our friends go to. I have been a few times, and it's fun to watch them, but I wont do it there. I do it at home all the time, though.

message 4366: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I don't drink much. Its gross :(

I like screwdrivers, because OJ is strong and overpowers the alcohol. haha.

message 4367: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Too funny, I actually like vodka and grapefruit juice, for just that reason.

message 4368: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha! what a coinkidink.

message 4369: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) me too Fiona! I can get myself good and hyper and you'd never be able to tell the difference.

message 4370: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I am actually pretty hyper anyways. (could ya tell?) But sometimes... Or in Vegas, when it's just my husband and I, I will sometimes get a super hot bloody mary. They're free there!

message 4371: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I hate the taste of rum. It's soooo sweet.

message 4372: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I like rum! Dr. Pepper and Malibu :) yummm

However, I'd rather just have the Dr. Pepper :P

message 4373: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Dr. Pepper is fizzy prune juice! I know it's not really, but since I heard that as a kid, I just can't stand it!

message 4374: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Today's soup is chicken tortilla.

message 4375: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol...is not! I think its a myth that prune juice is in it at all, actually.

It is my favorite. Ever. I'm drinking one right now!

message 4376: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Kandice, I LOVE tortilla soup. I'm so jealous!

message 4377: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I have never tried prunes. I'm sure I'll be sucking them down plenty when I'm old, toothless and constipated.

I'm content to wait until then.

message 4378: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My favorite soup they make over there is Cream of Mushroom. It's homemade and the best you have ever tasted.

message 4379: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I actually like prunes, just the idea of prune soda is gross! I don't think there really is any prune juice in there, it's just an urban myth. Funny, though.

message 4380: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I am really looking forward to going home and reading! Only...3 more hours. :\

message 4381: by Kandice (new)

Kandice As much as I like chatting on here, I really wish I could see you guys!!!! Just thought I'd let you know;)

message 4382: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) aww :) I would love to crash your party tomorrow night Kandice!

Fiona would be in the corner inhaling cheetos...

message 4384: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha ha!!!! I knew it couldn't really be true!

I would buy Fiona a truckload of Cheetos if she could come. She could eat them on the couch!!!!!!!

message 4385: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I told Heather and Jackie that we needed to watch Outlander together when it comes out in 2011. :) hehe. Who else would I want to see it with but you guys?

message 4386: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL...Laura would totally get kicked out first ;)

message 4387: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I bet she'd charm her way into staying. We could rent a theatre like they do for meetings, and call ourselved the hormone bunch, or something!!! That would be so, so fun.

message 4388: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Tomato and asparagus together? I like asparagus, but don't know if I'd like it with tomato.
Remember I said we had a baby shower at the office last week? One of the girls mom's brought in homemade eggrolls for us to say thank you. They are magnificent! I ate two, but could probably eat about 10. I think that was so sweet.

message 4389: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh Fiona! My youngest son had an intestinal problem when he was little. He would vomit at the drop of a hat. We always carried receptacles with us. I mean EVERYWHERE. It became no big deal to us, but people would stare...

message 4390: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yesssssss.

message 4391: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I tried to add myself as a friend once...LOL. It came back and said "you can't be friends with yourself, silly!"

Well, if you can't be friends with yourself first, no one else really has a chance, I say.

message 4392: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm seeing my dad in Vegas next month, but am going to feel out a good time to go up there. When I do, Rachel, you and I are going to see each other!!! My dad will let me use his car.

message 4393: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yup, after I posted I did it again! hahaha.

message 4394: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm bored. I really have nothing to do, and would like to go home early. Maybe... if I ask in a very sweet and pretty way...

message 4395: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) well, I have plenty to do...but who am I kidding, on a Friday afternoon? Proooobably not going to happen.

message 4396: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm going to try to friend myself...be back.

message 4397: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "Kandice wrote: "I'm bored. I really have nothing to do, and would like to go home early. Maybe... if I ask in a very sweet and pretty way..."

Shall I phone up and pretend to be a butt hole?"

LMAO!!

message 4398: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha ha! You guys are the best.
Okay, so I am making stuffed mushrooms (sorry Fi)chocolate bread sticks with honey butter dipping sauce, and artichoke dip and I'm getting crackers, cheese, hummus and pita chips for tommorrow. Does that sound good?

message 4399: by Kandice (new)

Kandice This morning, on Sci-fi channel was a Stargate SG-1 marathon. I watched 1/2 an episode before I came to work.

message 4400: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I can't figure out how to friend myself, or how to tell how many posts I have made on TNBBC. Fiona?
