message 4301: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) GR sure doesn't help, because the more books I pile up, the more anxious I am to get through them as fast as I can.

Sort of defeats the purpose, I guess. But its just how I am.

Allison (inconceivably) I immediately re-read them too...and then went and saw the movie the next weekend. I felt 11 years old, and it was fantastic.

For me, Twilight was just by far the best, and the others just slid down from there.

Have you read The Host? I LOVED The Host. Like...adored it. I couldn't believe how much. I want to re-read it soon, too.

message 4303: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I liked the Host better as an overall story too. I think Meyer has great ideas, she just needs to get better skills. I was really anxious about Host thinking Twilight was a flash in the pan, but I think she's here to stay. She just isn't as immediately good like Rowling, or King.

Kandice So, today, are we shooting for 7000? *poke* *poke*

message 4305: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That is strange, since we had 3 less days. Hows the neck?

message 4306: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You were listening to that yesterday too, huh? I have been stuck on the moulin Rouge songs. Not the whole soundtrack, just what's on my MP-3.

message 4307: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I'm with Rachel, I might actually need to get around to doing my job this afternoon.

message 4308: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Well, my two office buddies are off today, and I just closed 3 of my five disputes, so I can post away! You and me Fiona!!!!!!

message 4309: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Who? Allison, Rachel or Kandice?

message 4310: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I handle contract disputes for T-Mobile. (a cell phone service provider in U.S.A)

message 4311: by Allison (last edited Feb 27, 2009 10:18AM) (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I work for a really small company (6 people). We sell valves/tubing/stainless steel fittings/all kinds of equipment.

Since its so small...we all do a lot. I do Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable/Bank Deposits/Collections/Shipping & Receiving.

www.i-consolutions.com :P

message 4312: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's pretty cool, Allison. Who's Vanessa?

message 4313: by Allison (last edited Feb 27, 2009 10:26AM) (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Vanessa...? Like the brand name?

message 4314: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL...not so much.

message 4315: by Kandice (new)

Kandice It says Vanessa at the top of that web page. I'm sure she does. She seems like quite the handy girl;)

message 4316: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Kandice, I think its awesome what you do! I would never have the patience I don't think.

message 4317: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) :) She is a sexy beast, that Vanessa.

message 4318: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Thanks, but it's not exciting, and I get a new butt hole every few days! LOL

message 4319: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) nope, not handy at all! I don't have a clue what the stuff does. :)

message 4320: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL Kandice!!!

message 4321: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Since Rachel seems to be busy...she works with scientists and oncologist. I think it sounds terribly exciting, but she says it's not.

message 4322: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hmm, it does sound exciting!

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

My not posting so much doesn't go into effect yet, because I'm on my lunch break! lol

message 4323: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I've only been here 35 minutes! Someone brought in donuts and they count as fast food, so I am RESISTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 4324: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I HATE HAROLD. Grr.

message 4325: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm drinking gingerbread tea instead. It's left over from Christmas, but it's still okay. I put in 2 sweet n lows so I am still getting the sweet!

(I would if I could)

message 4326: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Is it really good though? I'm very curious to actually read one of the books by him considered "scary."

message 4327: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Well, he was plotting to shoot Stu when they were out looking for Mother Abigail (while Fran was breaking into his house LOL).

message 4328: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Salem's Lot, Pet Sematary, Cell, possibly Cujo, but the others aren't really scary in my opinion. Yeah, they make oyu think, and you sure as heck hope it never happens to you, but scary? Not so much.

message 4329: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I would have liked to beat the crap out of that Damned Harold when I was reading. Not just once, but lots of times. I don't want to spoil anything, but he causes the worst thing (in my opnion) and I still hate him!!!!!!!!!

message 4330: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hmm

message 4331: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Herbert? Do you mean Frank Herbert? Of Dune? I've read everything he's ever written.

I know he's listed as a horror writer, but I don;t really think he is. You know how there are character actors? I htink he's a character writer. He has the ability to always make us, the reader, care. That's it.

message 4332: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) awwww, Stu got Fran a washboard!!

message 4333: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'll have to look, Fiona. I don't think I've heard of him.

Stu is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 4334: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I started Ahab's Wife last night, and I can already tell I am really going to like it.

message 4335: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hehe, I keep meaning to copy that part down somewhere so I don't forget it, "its about BUNNIES for crissakes" lol.

message 4336: by Kandice (new)

Kandice The bestest...

message 4337: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) well, I only read 20 pages over my lunch :( bummer.

message 4338: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, how is everyone today?

message 4339: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha, I wish! Unfortunately, its back to work :(

Hi Linda!

message 4340: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I can attest that it just doesn't work! (the keyboard thing)

Hello Linda

message 4341: by [deleted user] (new)

Working sucks...

message 4342: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I am so glad its Friday. Like...I don't think I could come to work tomorrow if my life depended on it.

message 4343: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree... hurray for the weekend!!

message 4344: by Kandice (new)

Kandice We are having a fairly large party tommorrow night, so I have a lot of work to do after work and tommorrow during the day to prepare.

message 4345: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha! I posted only yesterday that I hide that damn wrist rest thing they insist we all have. I put it back every day before I leave, so they will think I am using it.

message 4346: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Sometimes I read a bit of a classic that is just posted online somewhere :)

message 4347: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My husband is having a poker tournament, and the girls (and my Joe) are going to be just hanging out with me. We always have lots of food and do Karaoke. It's really fun.

message 4348: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) cool Kandice! Does sound fun.

message 4349: by [deleted user] (new)

My husband would love to do a poker tournament

message 4350: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My husband, as a side thing, makes these beautiful poker tables by hand and then sells them. He and a lot of his friends play poker all the time, and every couple of months or so they have an organized tournament. They play in our back yard on the tables he has made. He usually sells a few and takes orders for a few more.
