Kandice I think MOST of our significant others are non-readers, or we would be discussing our books with them! We probably ouldn't be thinking about, and drooling over men with them, though!

I'm surprised Netflix doesn't have it. I rely on netflix for just about everything lol

message 4253: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) He has read one book in the 5 years I've known him.

message 4254: by [deleted user] (new)

My husband likes to read, but not as much as I do... maybe I should tell him to join GR

I'm glad you agree! My friends all like it. It is just...not romantic at all. And its supposed to be romantic comedy? Ugh.

message 4256: by [deleted user] (new)

Totally... I find it completely annoying

message 4257: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) He is very funny :)

We only dated a week before we got engaged.

message 4258: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I love telling people that! haha, but we were best friends for 2 years first.

message 4259: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I wouldn't want my husband to join. I don't think I've ever said anything that I wouldn't say to him, but I wouldn't want to be worried about it. He looks when I leave it up, but that's not the same.

Remember when he mooned you guys?

message 4260: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) he...what??

message 4261: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol well, my husband and I work in the same building, so I don't think it would be too weird... maybe

message 4262: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison, you should definitely read N&S before The First Man in Rome. You may want to read the whole series, and that would set you way back. Read N&S first!

message 4263: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yeah, but there are like 45 other things I'm dying to read too...so...ugh. I don't know what to do. Maybe I'll put First Man in Rome off for a month or so.

message 4264: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I left this page on the computer when we were doing something outside. He went in for something, came out with a devilish look, and said "I said hi to your friends". I came back in, and Becky said he mooned them!

message 4265: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha that's a funny story. Nice guy...

message 4266: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL...Okay, you know Tom Cullen, the retarded guy in The Stand? Well, when I picture him...I picture Rob Pattinson (Edward Cullen in Twilight). The last name reminded me of him...and I have always thought that he just looks kinda...off somehow, so it kinda fits for me.

hahaha, too funny!

message 4268: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I can't believe we're already almost halfway to 7000 posts. yeesh.

message 4269: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I don't know why I'm on here! I want to finish The Stand tomorrow, I should be reading.

message 4270: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) but now American Idol is about to come on.

message 4272: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hahahah!

message 4273: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My daughter is addicted to American Idol. Last year when Jason Castro was voted off, she cried inconsolably for almost 1/2 an hour.

message 4274: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) aww, thats sad :(

I wasn't a fan of him really.

message 4275: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I thought he had a cute smile.
The only time I ever cared about AI was when Taylor Hicks was on. He's appearing in San Diego in Grease, and I want to get tickets. I really like him.

message 4276: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) thats cool, I hope you get to go!

message 4277: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Just "flurries" whatever he meant by that. Obviously not too much, because my step-mom wont drive in snow at all, and he hadn't had to drive her to work.

message 4278: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I WANT to go, but I'm not paying $100 bucks or anything, so I have to see what they cost.

message 4279: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yeah, Wicked came through here and I wanted to see it really bad but tickets were too expensive.

message 4280: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) the only musical I've seen is FAME!...I saw it in London. :)

message 4281: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol! Well really, what a mess it would be for you to have to worry about.

message 4282: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Plus, what if your little girl were home? I would be a little freaked to go check.

message 4283: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) alright, I'm going to watch American Idol then read! G'nite y'all!

message 4284: by Kandice (last edited Feb 26, 2009 05:20PM) (new)

Kandice I have seen many, many musicals, My very favorite, and I've seen it lots of times, from CYT to Broadway, is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. My husband went to Phantom of the Opera, and Cats with me, but really, he hates them.

message 4285: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Good night!!!

message 4286: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I'm uncultured :( Or maybe its because I'm from Oklahoma and we don't get a lot of theatre....

I love going to plays though, just locally done ones. I go whenever I can.

message 4287: by Kandice (new)

Kandice They are having a Fathom Event of M. Butterfly at the theatre near me. I was thinking of going. I love musicals in any form, and will probably never get to see it live. Do you think it's worth seeing on screen? They show those "events" in the biggest auditorium, so it's usually pretty cool.

message 4288: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Has anyone been to Broadway musicals? I live close to NY, so I go at least once a year. They're quite the experience.

message 4289: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My husband is from New York, so we have visited a few times. We've gone to at least one show each time. We've seen Cats, Phantom, Rent, Chicago and Beauty and th beast there. He usually doesn't go with me, so I have to go with his relatives mostly. I love seeing shows anywhere, (especially Vegas) but you're right. There is some special magic knowing you are on Broadway!!!!

message 4290: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) NY has TKTS booth where you can get the tickets the same day for half price, sometimes cheaper. Las Vegas also has the same thing.

message 4291: by Kandice (new)

Kandice We always to the 1/2 price thing in Vegas! I don't care what I see, and if I pay 1/2 price, AND I go by myself, sometimes I can squeeze two shows in a trip.

message 4292: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Vegas shows are so overpriced. The last time I went we didn't do any shows, but if I were to do one I would definitely do the TKTS booth. The one in the food court at the Fashion Mall is nice. It's inside and it's never crowded like the other ones.

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments Hi Everyone,

I'm back home thanks for your prayers and positive thougths. Surgery itself went good, the pain I'm in now isn't so fun. I am thinking everyday gets a little better.
I had 653 posts to try to catch up on. LOL
Well I'm off to sleep awhile...talk to you ladies later :~)

message 4294: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Hey Lisa, I hope you're able to get plenty of rest! Hopefully that will help you feel better.

Then once you feel better, you can READ! :-D

message 4295: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) CRAP. I am an idiot. I was reading reviews of The Stand...and I clicked on Fiona's even though it has spoilers.

DANG IT. DANG IT.

Oh well, after the first big one, I stopped in horror. So...no major worries.

message 4296: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) No, it doesn't.

I am REALLY hoping I can *maybe* finish The Stand tonight. If not, then tomorrow definitely.

message 4297: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I did kinda start feeling sorry for Trashy...just because of one scene. It talks about how he sits down in the cafeteria in Vegas and just feels...welcome, like he really belongs somewhere for the first time. I was like AWW!! Poor guy.

I hope Nadine and Harold get blown up. SOON.

Nick is still my favorite right now...even more than Stu and Larry.

message 4298: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) uhmmm...I don't know :\

message 4299: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I really think its because I'm so impatient. I can't stand spending more than a couple days on a book. Not because I don't like it, I just have to know what happens.

message 4300: by Allison (last edited Feb 27, 2009 09:33AM) (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Glad you know what I mean! People think I'm silly. Like Twilight? I started it...and read every book in one day-like 1 book in 1 day, not 4 books in 1. (Its embarassing...but sue me, they were entertaining). So 4 days after starting...my mom is like "So how are you liking that Twilight book?"

I was like...*cough* Well, the whole series was pretty good...

lol.

But its not like Twilight requires a lot of brain power or anything...so that really isn't saying much.
