Allison (inconceivably) Starbucks' prices have just gone over and beyond any form of rationality.

Their hot chocolate though...yuuuum. And the creme blended vanilla frap....

I hate coffee, so I just like the sweet fattening stuff.

Laura (apenandzen) Jeane - I will just read and enjoy and not think of who's in love with who. I will be reading a few chapters tonight if there is a god.

I really do like it! (The Loop)

message 4003: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Me too. I get a pumpkin spice frap decaf which they don't make anymore so Ashley makes it with a creme base and adds a shot of decaf espresso so i can still basically get the same thing.

Kandice I don't have anything against them Laura!!!! I actually got about $100 in Starbuck's gift cards, since there's a drive thorugh on my way to work. I just don't like everything they have.
Some of their stuff is just so sweet. I have to admit I like Green Tea Latte even though they aren't available in low-fat or sugar-free. My son calls it my snot shake!

message 4005: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Wow I can't believe you all got this thing over 6K! Who'da thought?

message 4006: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I love scones! I have a recipe for them, where you just change the flavor by the berries or spices you use. I used to make them all the time, but haven't in a while.

message 4007: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Well we KNOW you like Starbucks Heather.

Sorry to hear you're not liking book 2 of O as much. Are you gonna go right to book 3?

message 4008: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I see there's a Claire reading ICTC. Hooray! Another one.

message 4009: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Are scones hard to make? Can you make them light, like w/out butter? I love them! Never tried making them tho.

message 4010: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I can look at the recipes I have, but I think the texture would suffer if you didn't have enough fat.

I want some clotted cream! It just looks like pre-butter!

message 4011: by Kandice (new)

Kandice http://www.joyofbaking.com/SconesIntr...

Here Laura, look at these.

message 4012: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I am eating crummy, old pretzels at my desk for lunch, and Fiona is rubbing my face in goodies! I want a scone.............

message 4013: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Rachel, I looked. There IS a book, but it's based on the movie. Does he like Wu-Xia?

message 4014: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Simon is the fruit.

Allison (inconceivably) OMG...you guys are making me so hungry. lol...I get off in half an hour. Should I make something at home, grab something at the grocery, or grab fast food?

message 4016: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS?

That is 50 chicken strip sandwiches at Sonic. LOL.

message 4017: by Kandice (new)

Kandice At the Disneyland Hotel you can go to a High Tea with Mary Poppins. It's obviously geared towrd little girls. You have to dress up and there are characters there.

message 4018: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) whatever, I love Mary Poppins.

Only Julie Andrews though. *sigh* I really love her.

message 4019: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) it sure is high.

message 4020: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) ooo, I think Ima go to Dairy Queen.

message 4021: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think High Tea means dress-up! Oh, and pay a lot of money. You get tea, of course, and milk, (or soda) and all kind sof pastries and fruit. I think there are also tiny sandwiches. The room is beautiful, and they have a lovely silver tea pot on each table and each table of 8 has it's own china pattern. It's $65 per person. (I think)

message 4022: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) that is outrageous.

message 4023: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Well, one time, as a really special thing....

message 4024: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I'll cut up a sandwich into tiny portions for you Rachel! No charge ;)

message 4025: by Kandice (new)

Kandice But, will you dress up as Mary Poppins, and Bert, and uncle whoever, and sing and dance around the tea room? Hmmm?

message 4026: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Kandice - Those scones look great! My daughter saw them and she wants me to make cinnamon scones for her birthday (she's 18 today). Do you have a recipe ????

They look so yummy!

Kandice I don't want any crappy thin sandwiches and dry crumpets. I want that stuff Fiona's always going on about. Tarts, meringues, hobnobs, digestives...
AND I WANT CLOTTED CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!

message 4030: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) and...you want a lion bar. I'm telling you...I still dream about them.

message 4031: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Oh Kandice, it's perfect!!!! Thank you so much. We love whole wheat flour & lite recipes, it's perfect!

message 4033: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oooh! Allison, those do look good. I thought they were only in England, though. Where did you get them?

message 4034: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I want a fat meatball sandwich for $5. Screw the thin cucumber ones for $50.

message 4035: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Yeah...in England. I went there once.

message 4036: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) and I'm not as cool as I sound.

IT WAS A DORKY BAND TOUR. 7 countries in 16 days.

message 4037: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What does a cucumber sandwich actually consist of? I always think white bread, crust cut off, maybe cream cheese?

message 4038: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL.

message 4039: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I like blueberry or raspberry scones. No actually frosted, but a little thin drizzle of glaze. Yummy! Again, girls, all I have are crappy pretzels!

message 4040: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Well if thats how you're going to act...I'M LEAVING.

message 4041: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) mkay actually...its almost 5, so I'm sprung! Time to go home.

message 4042: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) next time get icing covered pretzels! yummm.

message 4043: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Only 3 for me and I'm not off until 6! We are having a good dinner though.

message 4044: by Kandice (new)

Kandice So just thinly sliced cukes and mayo? Do you peel the cukes?

message 4045: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) What about lemon scones Fiona - do you like them? Don't you like everything lemon?

message 4046: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Well, I know she doesn't like lemon curd, which I adore.

message 4047: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ewww! I would never eat it on a sandwich! I like it on a toasted roll or croissant.

message 4048: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Rachel Pumpkin scones w/cream cheese frosting sounds perfect too!

I gotta get into this scone world.

And Kandice - that recipe looks so easy and fast! I'm so glad, I have all the ingredients and I can do this w/what little energy I have left, then drop into bed to read for the night.

Happy Birthday to Ashley!

message 4049: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Yes, Happy Birthday to Ashley! Children can be difficult, but they can be wonderful too!

message 4050: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) I haven't survived yet Fiona.... ;)

Until she's financially independent, she's still my dependent if ya know what I mean....
