Kandice You're right Allison, it is very addicting! You just NEED to know what's next, right?

message 3752: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Yeah...I know that these people will meet up or whatever (or I assume)...but right now its just showing them all after every one has died, where they are deciding to go...etc. Ever since I started, I have felt like I'm on the edge of the cliff about to go over...the anticipation is just incredible.

Kandice Fiona-I don't know exactly where you are, but have the children become a cohesive "group" yet? Once they are bonded, or whatever you want to call it, it picks up considerably.
When you are nearer the end, I have to look up the "incident" I hate. I want to know when you get there, and ALL your thoughts!

message 3754: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I did look up The Loop before. I remember meaning to ask if the title was a bit of a play on lupine or if it referred to something else.

message 3755: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments Kandice, I am having a hysterectomy tomorrow. This is preventive measures since my mom had ovarian cancer and my sister had uterine cancer. There has also been a number of other family members with that kind of cancer too. So, after today I won't be on for a few days by the time I get back I'll probably have over 1000 posts to catch up on...lol

message 3756: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Oh wow, good luck with everything Lisa!

message 3757: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I wish you luck as well.
1,000 posts is Fiona's WISH, but we'll see;)

message 3758: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I have a hole in my sock.

message 3759: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha...remember that song Hole in the Bucket?

It was the first (and close to the last) thing I learned to play on the piano.

message 3760: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments Thanks everyone....I'm sure it will all go fine and I'm hoping while recovering I can get a lot of reading done. :~)

message 3761: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) OMG...I wish I worked in a bigger office so I could crawl under my desk and read The Stand. I AM DYING!

There are only 6 of us though, so I think it would be noticed.

message 3762: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison, toe or heel?

message 3763: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) heel :(

message 3764: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I don't think we are even coming close to 6000, but I am doing my piddly part!

message 3765: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) me too! Why else would I be talking about socks and buckets? lol

message 3766: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I never like Molly Ringwald as Frannie. I imagined her with wavy, red hair, which she actually has, so why did they make her hair straight and almost black? That was distracting to me.

message 3767: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) *sings* theres a hole in the bucket dear Liza dear Liza...theres a hole in the bucket dear Liza a hole!

message 3768: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I hate seeing her on the cover of my book...yuck.

message 3769: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I'll help bump up your numbers. My freaking shoulder hurts. I've already had 3 Advils since this morning and it hasn't done anything.

message 3770: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) aww, I'm sorry Jackie. Its probably from holding up Outlander and Dragonfly! lol. Better start lifting weights if you expect to make it through all 6...

message 3771: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I thought you meant "There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea". Do you know that one? We sing it all the time with a goofy hicksville accent. Super funny.

message 3772: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Sorry about your shoulder Jackie. Have someone pinch you. You'll forget about the shoulder for a bit.

message 3773: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha, I don't think I know it.

message 3774: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I normally don't care all that much if they change a character, but for whatever reason, the Frannie thing really messed me up!

I didn't mind Shelly Duvall in the Shining, and no one could ever describe her as "Beautiful and blonde". I think it just depends on how well I pictured the character as I read.

message 3775: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I have emptied my inventory on BookMooch, I think I might just give a bunch away...I was too addicted to getting books on there and they are piling up everywhere! I have 10 points saved up, and once I use those I might be done there for awhile.

message 3776: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I have resisted even looking at this "book mooch" you guys are always mentioning. Too easy to get in trouble.

message 3777: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) its a lot of fun :) except for lugging 20 packages at a time to the post office, lol.

message 3778: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) It probably is DIA. I no longer lift to read. I just balance it on my knees while I read it.

I wanted to join bookmooch or paperswap, but I know it'll just bump up the ones I have at home.

message 3779: by Kandice (new)

Kandice But you have to mail them. It seems like more of a hassle than just finding them on the cheap.

message 3780: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Are you really saving anything if you have to pay postage on everything you send out?

message 3781: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's what I'm thinking. I send my mom books sometimes. I just sent the first 7 Sookie books, and it cost me $23. I know I couldn't buy them all brand new for that, but I also know I can find SOMETHING used to buy and read that would be way less than that.

message 3782: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) 15 minutes till I'm home free. Whoo hoo!

message 3783: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Off of work? I am only just now on lunch, so a little over 4 hours to go............

message 3784: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) it averages about 2.23 to send a book. Thats cheaper then our used bookstore, so *shrugs* I loved it.

message 3785: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Jackie, you lame east coaster! lol, but of course...I get off in an hour, so not much difference.

message 3786: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Yup, off of work. I'm on the East Coast. I have to go to the library and look for Voyager. I was going to walk over during lunch time, but it so freaking cold outside today especially with the wind.

message 3787: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Do you mean the television series? (Star Trek)

message 3788: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) it is GORGEOUS here, almost 60 degrees :)

message 3789: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison-There is a thrift store within walking distance of my house. The paperbacks are $.50 and hardbacks between $1 and $2. They have tons, and tons of books. I would say about 90% of my books, other than HAVE TO HAVES are from there. I try to walk down there every Saturday morning.

message 3790: by Kandice (new)

Kandice 74 degrees here. It's a pretty sky today. Very blue, which is not always the case.

message 3791: by Jackie (last edited Feb 24, 2009 01:56PM) (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) No, book 3 for the Outlander series. It took me a minute to get what you were asking me. lol. I forgot you are a Trekkie (sp?).

message 3792: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha ha! People who care say it's Trekker, but I couldn't care less. I am one, but I never really like Voyager. Pretty much anything after Roddenberry's death was just to "warrish" for me.

message 3793: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I don't know why, but I've never been into the whole Star Trek thing. My brother-in-law is a fanatic though. He could give you the whole history.

message 3794: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) OK, I'm out of here. Have a good one ladies!

message 3795: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Me too! I don;t even know why the style change after his death bothered me. I mean I love Star Wars for Pete's sake. I guess I just felt Star Trek was supposed to be more "intellectual", less fighting.

I wish I had a super Star Trek geek as a friend;(

message 3796: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) oooh Kandice, great deal! At Goodwill, the paperbacks are $1, and sometimes I find good stuff, but never actually what I'm looking for.

message 3797: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I have to admit, you can't go in with a list! I have, however, been really lucky in finding things I was hoping to read or have heard about. I find quite a few current books. You know, Costco types? I think there must be a few very generous readers that donate to that store, because many of them are pretty much perfect. What gets me most excited, though, is when I find a really old book I want.

message 3798: by Kandice (new)

Kandice We are talking about him in another thread, but do any of you girls think Ewan Mcgregor is, well...HOT?

Ewan McGregor. Von Trainspotting bis Star Wars by Brian J. Robb

message 3799: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) YES! *warm shivers*

message 3800: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I actually have a few of the Moulin Rouge songs on my ph mp-3 thingy. One is the Elephant Medley, and I keep hitting replay. Aaaaahhhh.....
