Kandice I am so, so hoping the one we get will have happy hour. My mom tries to time her trips into town so she can get a slushie 1/2 price on the way back. What's Ocean Water flavored with?

message 3702: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh! And thank you. Took me almost an hour to catch up you busy bees:)

message 3703: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I think its blue coconut/sprite. I actually hate coconut, haha...so it cracks me up how much I love that drink.

Every Sonic I've seen has the happy hour, even the one in my half dead teeny tiny hometown where my parents live.

message 3704: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I usually hate coconut flavored things, or dried coconut, but I like it fresh, just scraped out of the shell. I can always taste it, and hate it, when cookies or something has coconut oil.

message 3705: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Me too Kandice! This drink is like...not coconut-y. Its very blue and takes basically like Sprite. I can't stand fresh either.

Fiona...that is actually how I feel about The Stand, somewhat. Too many characters, I get confused. Well...its more like at the beginning of the chapter I'm like "Oh Lord, who the hell is this again?" And then like 2 lines later I remember. haha. I am really liking it though!

message 3706: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think part of the confusion is just not reading long enough a stretch to get all the characters. There end up being a group of them, like the Stand, but they are very individual, and once you have them all straight, it's very easy to begin to care for them. Like the ensemble in the Stand, there will be some you don't like, but even they are pretty interesting.

message 3707: by Kandice (new)

Kandice It was perfect! Well, Darby was upset her team took only 3rd out of 12, but they ARE playing up a bracket, and she played beautifully! She's the keeper, and she got a finger jammed, a hand stepped on, so it's black and blue, and she slid on her butt and got a huge raspberry. I would have hated all those injuries as a little girl, but she feels like they are badges of courage or something.

I got my ring, and it is... DIVINE!

message 3708: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Sorry Rachel, I thought that's what I had heard on the commercials for the t.v. movie.

Well, I have that piercing, but it's a TINY diamond. No way I would put a ring or something big on there.

message 3709: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I know who Eddie is, he's a main character, but not Ricky Lee. I can look when I get home, but...

message 3710: by Kandice (last edited Feb 23, 2009 01:07PM) (new)

Kandice Rachel-He had them completely rebuild my original ring in The exact same design, but replaced the diamonds with better ones. It's two rows of 5 diamonds each, in a swirly line. The middle diamond of the engagement ring part is bigger. He also had them add a second swirly line of 5 to the other side. Now it's 3 swirly lines with only the very middle diamond big. I love it!!! It is an upgrade of sorts, but it's still my ring.

message 3711: by Kandice (last edited Feb 23, 2009 02:19PM) (new)

Kandice I had a pepperoni sandwich for lunch, and while it was really good, I think I need a Tums or a Rolaid!

message 3712: by Kandice (new)

Kandice We will never even break 6000 this way!

message 3713: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I'm hungry :( My chocolate milk and granola bar didn't go very far this morning.

message 3714: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Oh! And my boss is a prick. I want to go home and read.

message 3715: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) aaaand...The Stand is really good! Stephen King is FUNNY.

message 3716: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison, do you have Night Shift by him? We have been poking fun about a story in that book, The Lawnmower Man. It's only 10 pages, and I am rying to get at least Becky and Angie to read it so we can have a quick discuss. It's really, really disturbing, but... It's hard to out a finger on it.

message 3717: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hmm. I'll see if the library has it.

message 3718: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Let me know. We have been trying to figure out who could play him, but not make it goofy. It's one of those stories that are so surreal, you know it would come across on film as goofy, but on the page...I hope you can read it. Don't even thnk about that idiot movie from the 80's with the same name. It's not the same, okay?

message 3719: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments I agree with Allison I want to stay at home and read today...I just have so much to get done before I go in for surgery tomorrow. *sigh*

message 3720: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison, what has your boss done?

message 3721: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Lisa, what kind of surgery?

message 3722: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) He is just not good with people. He is one of those bosses that has NO idea how the office runs, and he doesn't even know how to use the computer program we use! (We sell parts so all our orders and stuff are generated from a program.) Yet he makes all these demands of people and tries to control what we do all day. It is VERY frustrating.

message 3723: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) ugh, Lisa! Surgery?

message 3724: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Sorry. I hate when the people in authority never had to perform the tasks they ask their "underlings" to do on a daily basis. They can't have a good idea of what they are really asking. Drop an Es-Lax in his coffee. Or, if you believe CSI, you could just squirt in some Visine!

message 3725: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol.

He drinks Diet Pepsi. Yeck.

message 3726: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I LOVE Diet Coke, but Pepsi tastes flat to me. Before I drank diet, it was Pepsi or nothing. Weird.

Now I am really wondering about Lisa.

message 3727: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I know! Me too.

Hope everything is okay :(

message 3728: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) AUGH! The Stand isn't available on Netflix. What a gyp!

message 3729: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You are actually going to buy the whole mini-series? I used to have a lot of his on VHS, but have never replaced them on DVD. Have you seen it before, Allison? I know Fiona has, because she LOVES Sinise.

message 3730: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I have not..thats why I was hoping to get it on Netflix. :( Maybe I'll buy it one of these days. I looked on Amazon for a sec, and only saw it on VHS. I didn't look that hard though.

message 3731: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Man Rachel...I HATE it when people mess with my phone. We have a radio button, and I swear every time I'm gone someone hits it and changes the station.

It really pisses me off because no one should be at my desk anyway!

GRR. I'm mad just thinking about it, haha.

message 3732: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol, Fiona!

hmm..maybe I won't make the movie a priority. I can probably find it somewhere cheapo.

message 3733: by Kandice (new)

Kandice FIONA!!!!! Didn't you just have to replace one because of tea? You silly girl.
It is a bit cheesy, but I also enjoyed it because some of the characters were so perfectly cast. Nick and Tom being my favorites. M-O-O-N spells perfect!!!

Did you do grocery shopping?

message 3735: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha, yes I did Jeane! No more worries, I'm not pathetic anymore.

i think that was a part my team leader liked in my interview. I just answered him plainly when he asked what kind of team leader I look for and i said one that helps the people in the team and that also works and not jsut delegate but doess't do a thing. And he is really that kind of person. He is great as a team leader.

message 3737: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My favorite character in the Stand was Nick Andros. Both the book and the series. I love Rob Lowe, and his face is so angelic, I could never imagine anyone else in that part.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Rachel wrote: "I need to go grocery shopping. I am nearly out of bread. This kind of thing wouldn't happen if my husband would just by me the darn bread maker. >:("

hehe. why don't you buy him one as a present next time you are looking to give something? cheeky but clever sollution:-)

message 3739: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Rachel-You would still have to make it! Can I suggest, if you get one, MAKE SURE it has a delay timer. I love to get it all ready in the morning, and then come home just as it's ready to be turned out, shaped and baked! Technically you aren't supposed to use the delay if there are eggs in the bread, but I do, and none of us have gotten food poisonong! Ha ha!!!!

Kandice, you are a lazy girl who likes to spoil herself, aren't you?:-) I mean, sometimes...:-))))

message 3741: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Jeane-Hello. I feel like I've missed you! Where have you been?

message 3742: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) oooo there are good guys and bad guys? THANKS FOR RUINING IT!

...just kidding.

I just met Trashcan Man a few pages ago. I want to blow something up now :)

message 3743: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I like Lloyd too! I know he's on the bad team, but he diesn't really seem like a "bad" guy!

message 3744: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments A colleague made me very happy today. She is in charge of sending the debit note targets. There are the 180+ and 60+ debit notes which refers to days over the due date. My 180+ was 148, which means that i ahd to get customers pay or clear 148 debit notes in total before friday.......even though my team leader was very confident in me that I could do it, I wasn't sure at all. because every update the green line that shows how many you did already didn't cahnge much. That was because even if I did ten it didn't show well on my total. But today she send us a new one and told us that the previous one wasn't correct. the correct one shows my 180+ on 48 as total!!!!!:-)))))))))))))))))))) That is sooooo much better. And at least my green line that shows how many are done shows on the line!

message 3745: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I found that very confusing, but I certainly could tell congratulations are in order! Hooray Jeane!
BTW I am making homemade pizza Thursday night. It's one of our favorite dinners!
Rachel, when you get your bread machine that's the first meal you should do. Homemade pizza dough is the BOMB!!!!

message 3746: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Fiona you are the BEST book pusher. I haven't even looked at the Loop. I guess I'll have to now.

message 3747: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I. want. to. die.

Lunch breaks should really be longer. I don't know if I can stand to work for 4 more hours before I can go home and read!!

The Stand is very very addicting.

message 3748: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Jeane-I missed that lazy girl comment!!!! I AM NOT!!! I am a whirling dervish of activity, as far as the laziness goes. As far as spoiling... I don't spoil myself, but would never object of someone else would like to spoil me!

message 3749: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) mmm...I love pizza with white sauce better too, but I don't have a good recipe for it.

message 3750: by Kandice (last edited Feb 24, 2009 11:08AM) (new)

Kandice I don't know if you eat meat, Rachel, but one of our very favorite homemade pizzas is BBQ chicken. I shred chicken breast by hand, mix it with any kind of BBQ sauce, (everyone seems to like a different one) put that on the crust, layer with feta and then a little sharp cheddar. It is sooooo good!
