Kandice We used to have 3 and then a 1/2 bath which was really just a 1/4 because it was barely a toilet and sink. It was pure hell to go to just the one! We are going to add a bathroom, but somehow, it just hasn't happened. I keep telling Vinny that by the time it happens, the kids will be gone and we wont need it.

Kandice I have some spiced plum tea in me desk. I think I'll make some.

Okay, so tommorrow is the big day and I am worried about my ring!!!!

message 3503: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I had to go back like 5 pages to find which book you were reading! That's the one where there's some sort of elicit love affair, right? I think it was an Oprah book choice and an Oprah funded t.v. movie? I would read it for the opportunity to discuss, but not exactly my cup of tea!
Do you like it?

message 3504: by Kandice (new)

Kandice 11:30? Wow!
I will draw a pig when I can concentrate. Promise;)

Kandice I will probably have a good freak out!

Have you read Roots, Queen The Story of an American Family, The Feast of All Saints? All of those books have phonetic dialog. I went through a period where I read all the books about African-Americans I could. Those are a few I really enjoyed.

Jessica | 1000 comments Oh man, I missed the Subway and Taco Bell conversation! Oh well...

At Subway I like a turkey sub with tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, and the chipotle southwest. And Taco Bell, well I just love everything, I can't pick a favorite!

Allison (inconceivably) Man you guys...I am so out of food now its not even funny. I thought yesterday's dry cereal was bad...today its 2 apples and one of those slim fast shakes I found in the back of the pantry collecting dust (no clue how old it is or where it came from).

I...must....go....grocery...shopping!!

message 3510: by Kandice (last edited Feb 20, 2009 10:04AM) (new)

Kandice So, I am at work and can't leave on our trip until after, which is about 6:30. 2 people in my department called in sick, and there simply can't be no one here. I guess this really belongs on the rant page, but we ARE trying to bump up our #'s.

Allison..you aren't joking?

message 3512: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol. Well I have all kinds of like...chicken and fish and stuff thats frozen, but nothing that is fixed for lunch. I haven't been grocery shopping in ages! Its because my hubby has been out of town so I've been trying to clean everything out.

message 3513: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My husband is always teasing me about being ready for nuclear war or something. I ALWAYS have like 200 cans of veggies, fruits, meats, whatever, plus a fully stocked freezer, at least a few bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste. I get really nervous when I am not way overstocked! You should come to my house Allison! I could feed you well.

message 3514: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha, I would love to! ;-)

Since my hubby will be home tonight I figured I'd swing by on the way home and get steak or something, so I just have to try not to starve until then! :)

message 3515: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments But why don't you prepare something with the frozen stuff and take a part with you to work? i can warm up things at work, so when on monday I don't have my half a sandwich from Subway's I have something with me that i prepared the evening before and warm it up.

message 3516: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Well I could, and intended to last night...but we ate out and I didn't think about it.

*shrugs* its my own fault

message 3517: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Silly one, so you jsut 'ate' silly things instead at work???

message 3518: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's so funny to me Jeane! Because I know you live in another country, I don't ever imagine you guys eating Subway or McDonald's or anything like that. I always imagine you eating lovely exotic foods I woud give my eye teeth for!

message 3519: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Kandice, I never used to eat Subways. I am so used to prepare my lunch for work at home. Like pasta, risotto, salads...... but my boyfriend works temp at Subway and he brings it with him when coming from work. Exotic? When I think about exotic food I think about mango, papaya...those things....

message 3520: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Haha! risotto sounds lovely! What sandwiches do you eat from Subway? I wonder if the same types are available everywhere.

message 3521: by [deleted user] (new)

wow! I go scrapbooking last night & 253 posts later!

message 3522: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know that I'll catch up!

message 3523: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I don't think you need to. Fiona has decided we need to reach 1,000,000 posts, so it's a lot of little non-important things! Hello Emilee. (he IS handsome)

message 3524: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments oh Emilee did you have fun? I love to scrapbook but I have to usually go somewhere to try to get stuff done. My desk is always a mess at home. I am trying to get it cleaned this weekend...hehe

message 3525: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I don't have the patience for scrapbooking. It is really only a good idea for me to undertake things that will only take < 1 day.

message 3526: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My girlfriend has a scrapbooking club that meets once a month from 1p.m. until midnight. They eat dinner together and scrapbook the entire rest of the time! I think that's the only time she works on her albums. I don't have 10 hours of stamina for that, but I have made some beautiful small books for family regarding trips or visits. I just can't seem to do it for everything.

message 3527: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) *crickets*

message 3528: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What? I'm here, and irritated at work, so perfectly willing to post my day away;)

message 3529: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) DITTTTTOOOOO.

I work in an office of 6 people. 2 are gone...the rest of us are lazing about today.

message 3530: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I am halfway through JP by the way, and I LOVE IT! I couldn't put it down last night until my eyes wouldn't peel apart anymore. I devoured it through my lunch hour too...I just got through the initial T-Rex attack on the land cruiser (which I remember from the movie).

message 3531: by Kandice (new)

Kandice 2 people called in sick here today. I was supposed to be leaving for the weekend, but I had to come in. Now we aren't able to leave until 6:30.

message 3532: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) aww :( I hate when people call in sick on Fridays. You never QUITE know if its true...

message 3533: by Kandice (new)

Kandice The book is so much mor eintense than the movie. I mean it ws exciting to see the special effects, but my good old imagination is pretty wizard too!!!! That man can write! (could, sorry. that still makes me sad)

message 3534: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) our VP came in and he is practically dying from a cold. He is carrying a box of Kleenex around with him, even when he just gets up to get coffee! His eyes are bloodshot...its bad. I forced him to go to Walgreens at lunch for medicine.

message 3535: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) aww I was thinking that too-I never read anything by him until he was dead.

It is much better than the movie! The buildup was INTENSE! Like...he just creeps in a feeling of dread and it starts so small you don't even realize its there...its fantastic! I love it. You could never reproduce that in a movie.

message 3536: by Kandice (new)

Kandice True! I like everyhting he ever wrote. I was always amazed at how varied his topics were, and yet his books are all so well researched. State of Fear, is my favorite, but also the most ocntroversial book he ever wrote.

message 3537: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) The summary here on GR sucks-what is it about exactly? I just added it to my TBR, haha.

message 3538: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Global warming. Well, the fact that global warming could be a scam just to get people to treat the Earth better. It's not the greatest story, but the facts and statistics he peppers in there are so eye-opening!

message 3539: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) cool.

message 3540: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think I saw somewhere you posted about the Masters of Rome series by Colleen McCullough? My favorite, favorite, favorite. There are some wonderful book crushes hidden in those pages;)

message 3541: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yeah! I will definitely start First Man in Rome in the next few days, and we can start a thread :-) Was it you I talked to about that?

message 3542: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh yeah! Sorry, I forgot. With that cute Wishbone as your avi, you'd think I'd be able to keep you straight.

message 3543: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha, and not because of my brilliant personality?

(jk)

message 3544: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That too!!!
My husband just had 32 roses delivered to me at work with a box of chocolates and a sweet card! I am the hit of the office right now. I love this;)

message 3545: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) awww!! Sweet :)

message 3547: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I want to eat at your house Jeane! Other people's food is always better. I guess like "The grass is always greener"

message 3548: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I would also like to play with all her animals. Puppy pile!!!!!!!
We were working toward your goal Fiona;)

message 3549: by Allison (last edited Feb 20, 2009 12:47PM) (new)

Allison (inconceivably) is this day ever going to eeeeeend?

Okay actually, it has gone by very fast. Its just that I never wanted to come to work in the first place...

message 3550: by Kandice (new)
