The Indian in the Cupboard is a good book. That's another one, surprisingly, that translated well to the screen.

Rachel-My husband will not allow an upright because he says they are "Grossly inefficient" as if he's the efficiency police or something! That's also why we have been saing almost 2 years for the new washer/dryer because he wants the most efficient ones they make! I'm patient, but come on.........

rachel, they always call you love, even if they are strangers and I just hate it!!!! Really everytime I was saying to myself, i am not your love and don't call me like that!!!!!
I downloaded Anne of Green Gables from my library website the other day, but the stupid program doesn't let me download to my iPod....only to my laptop. Which means I can't listen to it at work. :(

Damned, all the talking about the food jsut made me realize that just like yesterday I planned to prepare something with chicken but forgot to take it out of the freezer.....again.
My mother likes to take my children to the town of Hannibal when we visit. It's the town Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn are set in. Everything there is all about those books, and the kids love it! Darby has twice gotten that period style dress and worn them to ribbons. The boys get handmade marbles and coon skin caps or rubber rats on strings.

Well Fiona at least you know what they thought you were good in so maybe you can focus on those things to get some experience, even in a different job and then in the future try to get near to the kind of job you are looking for.

I like to eat plain bread and drink lots of coke with it. It doesn't seem like a very good combination but mmmmit jsut taste so good for me.

Jeane-Do you have corn bread over there? I love cornbread crumbld in a glass with milk. Buttermilk is better, but sweet milk will do.

We did end up with something like a little zoo that way but well.....what would life be without such a clever and nice, lovely, intelligent creature like animals..... Well i know that I would like life and the world so much less if there wouldn't be animals. But at the same time I like the world and life so much less because there are animals that can be hurt by us people.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y235...Have you girls seen diaper cakes? Two girls in our office are pregnant, and I am making them for the shower tommorrow. Fortunately, one is having a girl and one a boy. I think they are so cute.
Kandice wrote: "Jeane-Do you have corn bread over there? I love cornbread crumbld in a glass with milk. Buttermilk is better, but sweet milk will do."uhm, which kind of bread is that? Now you made me think about a belgian cookie called speculoos that I don't eat much but I love to eat a whole package with two big glasses of cold milk.....mmmmm
Cornbread is made wihth cornmeal, flour, butter, lard or some kind of fat, a bit of baking powder, salt and possibly sugar. It's cooked in a flattish square pan and you cut it in squares. I love it with butter and honey too. It has such a nice crumbly texture.
Don't know if they have it here Kandice. I have to get used again of not going to the backery to ask for a that day made bread but go in the supermarket and have them all packed in plastic. I am not a honey fan. I can eat it but only the accacia one, not sure how it is written but ti is the very light colored one. I can't eat or smell the traditional yellow/orange looking one.
Aaaahhh, what a lovely description Rachel!I love the term duckie. It's so cute. I almost never call my children by their names. It's always darlin', babydoll, sweetpea, etc.. But I would die before I would address my husband other than by name. I'm weird!
No, I haven't heard of that. I AM from the south, I just happen to live here now. I like all that southern food. Biscuits and gravy, pinto beans, collard greens, game, the one thing I never really liked was sweet tea. Ick. But everything else is wonderful.
To make good hoe cakes, you have to use lard. I know it's not used much now because it's so bad for oyu, but nothing else can give that same texture. Crisco is NOT lard, even though some people think so. If there is a mexican food section at your grocery, they usually have small amounts of lard. It's called Manteca.
Fiona wrote: "Don't think I've had cornbread. :/How do you feel about being called darlking Jeane? Or in some places it's duck/duckie."
Fiona, whatever stranger (and it only happened in England) made my blood boil and give them a neutral but not to polite look! I jsut hate it!
I make pulled pork a lot. I never knew BBQ as anything BUT pulled pork until I moved out here. Here they BBQ everything, but we only call pork BBQ. Everythng else is grilled.
ouch, should be cooking now....uhm well better go before my boyfriend wonders what is so interesting here and i am quite hungry tooo.....
Oh! I love grits. Either sweet with butter and sugar, or not, with salt and cheddar cheese. How can you NOT like grits? Crazy girl.
You know what I love? Redneck jokes."You might be redneck if you're at a dance and the caller yells 'HOEDOWN!' and your girlfriend hits the floor."
My father-in-law got me one of those calendars for my birthday last year. You pull off a sheet each day, and they all say "You might be a redneck if..." followed by an example. I am a hick, I totally admit it, but in all honesty, even though they are from Queens N.Y. they seemed to fit more of them than me. It was a funny start to the day, though.(I had an outhouse from the time I was 2-12)
Wow! That was a pretty horrific article. It doesn't say hy she was giving him Xanax. Did he NEED calming? Where did it come from, I wonder. Like you, I think I may not want to live after that. I kept imagining the character in Hannibal, Nathan Verger, I think. He was convinced (under drugs) to cut slices of his own face and feed it to his dogs. Gary Oldman played the part and the make-up was terrifying, to say the least.
The saddest thing, is that people will forget the stupid woman who owned him and just talk about how chimps are dangerous and bad. Like when Steve Irwin was killed and people started killing rays indescriminately. They weren't doing anything to deserve that. They were being rays for Pete's sake! He knew the risks involved with his job and would have been appalled at the action people took "in his name".
Horrible, horrible, horrible!
I still want to know if it was her prescription, or did she get a prescription for the chimp? Either way, she's stupid for giving him hers, or some Vet is stupid for writing a human prescription for a chimpanzee! You're right about the phrase. That's pretty funny.
I know, I know, but it's just irritating! I had an uncle with a spider monkey as a pet when I was a child. He was incredibly sweet, I have no idea where he came from, but he pretty much came and went as he pleased. As an adult, I think it was wrong to have him, but I remember the novelty as a child.
I would like some lemon mousse! Have you been to the Dr. about that blasted neck? It seems to bug you a lot.
The deli has open faced turkey sandwiches too! That's what I am having for lunch. Yummy!
I don't like lemon meringue, but I can make it really well. It's my dad's favorite. That and Key lime. I would love a strawberry tart too. I like tarts and pies so much better than cakes.Even if you don't believe in it, Christmas music is trying to convey love. God's and Jesus' love, so how could it be anything but beautiful? They have a service at church, on Christmas Eve, that is almost exclusively singing. I love it.
What if the Dr. said it was just a bunched muscle, gave you a muscle relaxer and it was all better? Hmmmm? You should call.

That's in my state. It's all people are talking about around here.
