message 3351: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) nope....never heard of it.

message 3352: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I mean...I've heard of THE Tudors...I just assume you're talking about a show, and I haven't heard of that.

haha.

message 3353: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Never heard of it either, but those lips... They are perfect!

message 3354: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Nope, I do not have a Lush near me. It's mail order or nothing.

message 3355: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh! I've heard of that Tudors. Is that the same one Fiona? I actually wanted to see it, but we have HBO and it's on Showtime.
I like "wot". That's cute!

message 3356: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I had a peanutbutter and butter sandwich for lunch. I love PB, especially PB M&Ms as they are so much bigger than Reese's Pieces.

message 3357: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You are crazy! Peanut butter is the best. Have you ever tried almond butter, or cashew butter? They are really good too.

message 3358: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's pretty drastic! Sorry.

My husband always says "Rainbows and butterflies" over and over when he hears something he wishes he hadn't. You could try that.

message 3359: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I just had Reeses ice cream for dinner (LOL), my husband wasn't home...so I decided to eat healthy.

;-)

message 3360: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I love raspberry jam, apricot preserves or plum preserves. Boysenberry is okay too. I like them on white bread with butter or on Ritz crackers.

She's right Fiona. Don't do healthy peanut butter. Get the processed crap. Much creamier, much better!

message 3361: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What are sarnies? Soya spread? Is it like margarine, maybe?
I love egg salad sandiches, which are basically boiled eggs, salt pepper and mayo. Yummy!!!!

message 3362: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My father-in-law drives 2 hours to buy all this specially imported Polish food. He always gets me plum preserves. It's exciting because I can't read Polish, but I certainly recognize a plum. It's probably not any better than plum preserves I could buy at the store, but I just love eating exotic seeming things.

message 3363: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I prefer margarine (the oilier the better) on certain things, but other things just have to be butter.

message 3364: by Kandice (new)

Kandice He also flies to New York about every six weeks to buy kielbasa. He flies for free, because he retired from the airlines, but still... every six weeks, Big Vin and his cooler. It IS the best kielbasa you ever tasted. I like the fresh as opposed to the smoked most people are familiar with.

message 3365: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That is a weird coinkydink! I love John Cleese. A Fish Called Wanda can cheer me out of almost any mood.

message 3366: by Kandice (new)

Kandice coinkydink?
It's just a funny way to pronounce coincidence. We always say it at my house.

message 3367: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Rachel-Have you ever tasted the white? I assume they sell it in rings? You have to boil it, and then I like to eat it with sauerkraut. My husband's mom eats it that way too, but everyone else likes this icky brown Polish mustard on it (the fresh and the smoked). I really don't like that mustard!

message 3368: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Me too! If you like it, my favorite way to eat it...
One ring of Smoked Sausage (just the store kind, you don't have to go to N.Y. or George's)
1 can tomato sauce
3 cloves garlic, pressed
1 large can sauerkraut.

You cut the sausage into chunks or slices. Brown it with the pressed garlic. Add the tomatoe sauce and the kraut, including the liquid. You simmer it about 45 minutes. It is sooooo good. I have to only make it when Vinny's going to be gone for the evening, because he hates the smell.

message 3369: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm glad for you about Griffey, but ... I just don't care. I am in the minority in my house, though. They all watch and my husband is on 2 baseball teams.

message 3370: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What book are you reading for face-to-face? I know I should be looking at people's updates on my homepage, but... I don't really.
I didn't see your post until after dinner, so tell me tommmorrow.
I hope you're in bed Fiona!!!!

message 3371: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow! I don't go on for two days and holy smokes 200 threads later!

message 3372: by [deleted user] (new)

Rachel: I have a bread maker and I love it. I just toss the ingrediant in and can do whatever I want. A few hours later fresh bread! I use to use it several times weekly. I use it about 3-4 times a month now. My only complaint is that it takes up a lot of room on the counter.

message 3373: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I hate stuff all over the counters, so when my husband re-did our kitchen, he installed those under corner cabinets that don't look very big, but are huge when you open them. I keep the bread machine, blender, toaster, etc. in there.

message 3374: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ours came with the lazy susan but I had Vinny take it out. I couldn't put anyhting super heavy on it. We have a drawer with shelves kind of like lazy susan shelves (superdeep) and it's good for lots of little things. Crock pots etc. were just too heavy. There is a shallow shelf half way up, just along the back walls of the cupboard, and I find that's perfect. Vinny had to make them, but...very nice.

message 3375: by Kandice (new)

Kandice So look for something where typing is key! You'll get something. Just think, maybe you didn't get this one because the PERFECT position is waiting for you;)

message 3376: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I am actually really handy too. I worked for Home Depot for 12 years, and took every class they offered. I can install toilets, sinks, tile, wood flooring, build quite a few things... My husband is just really crafty in addition to being hady. He is very good at taking my suggestions (which are often vague) and making me just what I wanted.

message 3377: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I got a job working for a newspaper once even though I didn't have any experience...because I blew everyone out of the water on typing speed (thank you internet groups!).

They even told me point blank I hadn't had a shot in hell at the job until I took the typing test (thanks a lot)...lol.

So you'd be surprised how far it will get you! Keep on a-tryin!

message 3378: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think your right, Fiona. Instead of woodshop, they should offer handyman classes. Seriously, how many young kids rent their first apartment and can't even fix a simple leak, stopped disposal, or clogged toilet? Young people should be made more ready for real life. We try to make sure our kids can do those things, but I know lots who can't.

message 3379: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Who are you sharing it with??? I have a new "addiction". Darby and I pour a little bit of mushed, thawed, frozen strawberry pulp into a glass and then fll it up with diet 7-Up. Not only is it delicious, it's so pretty!

message 3380: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Rachel-One of the things my husband does is to order the kits for those kid workshops. We have tons of them at home. There are bird houses, pirate ships, tool boxes, tons of cute things. When our kids were younger they always went. I'm sure your daughter will love it.
Definitely take the painting class. It seems as if painting should be a no-brainer. Get the brush/roller wet and paint, but really, there are tons of tips, clues and shortcuts that would just never occur to Joe Blow from Kokomo.

message 3381: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) oooo..strawberries and sprite.

You know what I love? Ocean Water at Sonic! Yummm...I think its like blue coconut flavor and sprite or something, not sure...but I <3 it.

message 3382: by Kandice (new)

Kandice There is Sonic at my mom's and when we visit, we go EVERY DAY!!! One is opening in our town (finally) this summer. I am so excited I can't stand it. I love fried cheese curds. And all those slushie drinks... I can't wait.

Allison (inconceivably) haha...I know what you're about miss Fiona! But I won't cheat and pick books.

message 3392: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I've read both of those. I actually like the movie of Russia House better. (Sean Connery)

Wuthering Heights is soooooo frustrating. It always gets me in a pissy mood. I'm not going to read it again.

message 3393: by Kandice (new)

Kandice We have a deep freeze and I love it! The danger is things get on the bottom that I forget about and eventually get pretty old! I would like one that's more like an upright fridge. You can see EVERYTHING.

Kandice I was surprised to see how serious the family of my boyfriend took the choosing of a name when his niece was born!!!! They were thinking about several names and if when she would be at school if kids would change her name and so.... sometimes it was a bit too much for me.

By the way...isn't it too much 230 messages on this thread since yesterday evening...it is evening again now sooooo....

message 3399: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha ha!!! I am right handed but eat that way as well.
I commented on your books, Fiona. Did you see?
