Or better yet, have someone read to you via a book on CD or, better still, in person - a personal reader! Get well soon ...

Kandice For Valentine's Day, my husband gave my daughter and I Disneyland tickets! He is dropping us off tomorrow on his way to Knott's with the boys. I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 3253: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You are such a crack up!!!
This means I didn't get my ring back for Valentine's, so I have to agonize for another week about it. We are super excited. We've never gone without the boys, so it will be a girls day. I suspect that's a different sort of experience. The boys don't like the Peter Pan ride, and it's our favorite, so we are going to ride it at least 3 times! So there! (in the direction of the boys!)

I've seen that troll with my dad before, but I don't remember any people!

message 3254: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh, I'm pretty sure she will! I'm also sure there will be smooching involved!
Happy Valentine's Day to you Miss Sassy Pants;) (I love writing that!)

Even though I didn't feel well since thursday night, I enjoyed and are enjoying my weekend. We even had sun today!!!!!

I finally heard my sister again and we talked for more than an hour on skype! That was nice. Jsut tried nasi goreng, but from a frozen bag...not bad but not really wow. Yesterday was nice and I still don't know if it feels soooo much longer or not like five years at all yet since I am togetehr with my boyfriend since yesterday.

tomorrow again work, team leader is back and damned will have to give him an update of my customers.....I am not good in that yet. And probably I will have somewhere training again and have less time to do my work again..... but I am feeling good now. Now there is jsut a derby in soccer I have to win that starts now!!!!!!!!

Fiona: I'm manless & loving it. I snuggled up with my electric blanket and several books. Perfect Valentines day- don't forget the huge bowl of ice cream. I'm always eating!

message 3262: by [deleted user] (new)

Jeane drink lots of tea & get lots of rest!

message 3263: by [deleted user] (new)

Yuck I don't like mussels.

message 3264: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh yes they do. I can't eat food the looks disgusting. I am picky.

message 3265: by [deleted user] (new)

So, I quilt and make cute sewn items. I haven't done any craft shows in about 10 months because the economy sucks. I was just counting out the bookmarks i've made (I make these cute quilted bookmarks-the nice thing is if they get dirty throw them in the washing machine). I have over 3000 bookmarks. Very sad. Only about 15 quilts.

I am not just a bookoholic but a bookmarkoholic.

message 3266: by [deleted user] (new)

I am so craving cheese and crackers. Sharp cheddar cheese.

I might just have to get off my butt & got eat.

message 3267: by [deleted user] (new)

I love quilting. I either am sitting at the sewing machine or sitting reading a book wrapped up in one of the quilts I made.

Quilting is actually really easy. If you find a quilt store close to your home they usually have beginning quilting classes. I actually have about 400 cut squares upstairs right now I am doing a 9-patch for my bed, spring colors/flowers. I just want something new.

message 3268: by [deleted user] (new)

The only thing about quilting is that it is very addictive. If you have a book buying problem you will have a fabric buying problem.

I am well know at the books stores, fabric stores and scrapbooking stores. I jsut hang out and spend money.

message 3269: by [deleted user] (new)

My sewing machine isn't too big. I would like a Long arm. They take up a lot of room but it makes machine quilting easier. I am actually thinking about turning my garage into a sewing room. If that happens it won't be for several years.

message 3271: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I can sew, but quilting makes my head ache! My aunt tried to teach me, but I was crooked. Nothing lined up. I love sewing, though. I used to make quite a bit of my daughters clothing. Well, until she became more concious of brands! At about 9, a lable that said "Made with love" was not quite as exciting as one that said Roxy or Quicksilver! I know what you mean about faric too! I would buy yards with no project in mind, just because it was beautiful and on sale. I have a sewing room, and I have a 5 drawer dresser ompletely full of fabric just waiting for use!

I love them the way we prepare them in Belgium...cooked in water with vegetables cooked with them and then eat them with fries. I can eat more than a kilo like that.

message 3274: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I like almost any kind of oyster, clam, scallop or mussel. I don;t care how it's prepared. In the case of oysters, I love them raw too.
Glad you're feeling better Jeane! :)

message 3275: by Kandice (new)

Kandice When we have gone to New Orleans, I always go to the bar in whichever restaraunt we happen to be eating. I eat my oysters and hot sauce there, as opposed to at our table with my husband, because it soooooo grosses him out! Same thing with crawdads. I don't eat them in front of him. Or if I must, we put up a big menu or something for a visual baricade. It's a crackup!!!! He thinks the less food looks like it did when alive, the better.

message 3276: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Baby!!!! We had a lovely time yesterday, and Darby picked a post card for Anna. I let her pick, so it's girly, but it IS Disneyland, so...

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Last month was my first month at work and I didn't overwork or something, jsut did the things my team leader told me. He expected me not to clear to many debit notes ebcause I jsut started so low expectations but apparently I did many more than he thought. I jsut got the new debit note targets for this month.....pffffff I got almost triple of the previous month! 150...... luckily I am cleaning up the mess with a customer that the one who I replaced didn't do because there are many dn to clear there....but lots of work linked to it.... I am jsut going to enjoy this so much!!!!:-)

Kandice I love almost any kind of bread, especially anything out of the oridinary. I could never, ever, ever go carb free. Hope you enjoy it Jeane ;)

Angela | 1934 comments I especially love dipping bread in oil and sprinkling on parmasean (sp) cheese! Yummy

message 3284: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I make bread at least 3 or 4 times a week. I use a bread machine for the dough, but never cook it in there. The best is this peanut butter and jelly bread. You let the machine make the dough and then when you would add nuts, you add pb and j. It swirls in there nicely. You roll it in a loaf. let it rise in the pan and when it's baked, it slices like a ready made sandwich. I've squished bananas and used that instead of the jelly too. Delicious!!!

message 3285: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) ooo, my mom used to make me pb & j bread! It was my FAVORITE! I had totally forgotten about it. :)

Time to go home and relive my childhood...

message 3286: by Kandice (last edited Feb 17, 2009 01:21PM) (new)

Kandice Ummm. I wouldn't use the saving money argument! A lot of the breads we like take funky ingredients that end up costing a lot. I also find that for plain old white sandwich bread, the machine, or homemade is not so great. The bread it too soft, so when you slice it, and i have a good slicer, it looses it's lovely square shape.
I really do reccomend one though. Even if you use it for nothing but pizza dough, it's awesome!

message 3287: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I like ANY kind of bread. If we are going to have soup or stew, I like to make round bread bowls. My kids love those. You have to make a few batches of the dough in the machine and the cook them all together otherwise you can only make 2 at a time, and we need at least 5.

message 3292: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Was this job closer, Fiona? If so, I'll keep my fingers crossed (again). Have you done anything like it before?

message 3293: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Are you looking exclusively for that type of job, or just anything? Before I had this job, I had stayed home for 6 years, and it was pretty scary to look for anything. I just didn't feel qualified.

message 3294: by Kandice (last edited Feb 18, 2009 09:57AM) (new)

Kandice I think nursing may be a calling, not so much a decision. I have no qualms about blood and gross things, but don't know I'd have the patience to deal with whiny, cranky sick people that weren't mine.

message 3295: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm okay with vomit. (how unlikely a sentence is that?!)

I'm listening to the Abstinence Teacher on CD. There is a small character named Candace, and it's startling each time the name is said out loud. My name is not that common, and it's weird!

the bread was very good but ti was only while being on the computer. After that I made sandwiches for my boyfriend and pasta for both of us.

We used to have one twice adn I lvoed it. Mainly for jsut white or brown bread and it came nice and very good. But ebcause we liked it so much we ate much more bread than normally and after a day it would be finished already.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I was wondering what I would read here after the bribing and the boob talk in the other threads....but at least it is nice jummy bread....my bread with all the seeds is down stairs and shouldn't eat it now, I am going to cook or prepare something at least in about half an hour....

message 3300: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Rachel-I also have a cousin named Candice. My mom was furious with my aunt. LOL They call her Candy, though, and I would never answer to that! It sounds like a stripper to me!

Jeane-You never told us how to pronounce yout name. It has caused quite a bit of puzzlement.

Fiona-That's too funny! My kids have those games.
