LOL!! I'm not even reading the book but I get your point.

Laura (apenandzen) Yes. I'd chew happily on his fingers while contemplating a hot-roasted weenie, crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside.

message 3003: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Wow. Maybe I do need to think about cutting back on my progesterone dosing!!

:)

*End of crazy woman rant*

message 3004: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh my God Laura! We need to find you a soft erotica club or something;) They say there's a club on goodreads for EVERY reader...

message 3005: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) I've been known to wax poetic about weenies. We are big into the weenie roasts out here in the fall, and I miss them.

But when you mix waiting for food with Jamie....I couldn't help but wax poetic. I'm hopelessly addicted to fall and roasts!

message 3006: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Come back Tweety !!

:)

message 3007: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I would like to know where one goes to see ex-cons perform a play?!?!

message 3008: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) She is...she's been trying to hide the dagger in her feathers for years now, but if you look real close, the tip of the blade is poking out.

message 3009: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha! You must be a good deal scarier than an ax murderer if you can get that silly puddy to do anything for you!!!
Seriously, the library? When I saw your comment, it made me think of Johnny Cash at the Fulsom Prison. I have no idea why, but I just imagined the little canary flying around the prison production, all the inmates in their jeans and denim shirts. Quite an interesting mind show!!!

message 3010: by Kandice (new)

Kandice This is a little random, so I guess this is the perfect spot for it...
Your story about the prisoners made me think of it. At my son's school, if the kids wear something innapropriate, like offensive words on a shirt, or rude design, picture, etc., or the girls wear extremely revealing clothes, instead of being sent home, as they used to, they get sent to the office and are issued "orange uglies" for the day. It's an orange jumpsuit that the prisoners in jail wear. It completely covers their clothing, and gets turned in at the end of the day.

If the boys have their pants hanging over their behind, a zip-tie is run through the 2 front belt loops of their pants to tighten them up. If they need to use the restroom, they must remove and then return it to a teachers approval. I love the idea, and the number of kids I see in ridiculous clothes has greatly decreased. The kids don't get a free day off anymore, either.

message 3011: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) I love it !! Woo hoo, hope they tell every other school about it.

message 3012: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh! If the girls wear super high-heels, they have to wear those plastic shower shoes from prison as well. They can wear small heels, but I swear, some of those girls, not only want to show a foot of skin between their waistband and shirt, but also try to walk on 6 inch heels when they wear only a size 6 shoe! It's my favorite thing they have ever changed about the rules.

message 3013: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I really wish our schools required a uniform. I think it gives everyone the same starting point. No one looks richer than anyone. No one is blatantly styless, or dresses goofy. The only schools here that require a uniform, are private schools, which, unfortunately, we can't afford. My husband went to private school his whole life, and we still have a few of his uniforms in our attic. They are soooo cute! Especially as he is a huge man and did not get his size until he was about 16. Hard to believe he ever wore them!!

message 3014: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Haha!!! My husband was LOVED by the nuns. He still goes to see this really old one that retired. I can't picture it, because, even though he's sweet to me, he CAN NOT hold his tongue, and has no verbal discretion. How did that happen? Maybe he used it all up in Catholic school?

I saw the title in a newspaper this morning. Something to amke it easier for their customers during the crisis you can choose what you pay.

I am glad we don't have school uniforms in Belgium...I might have had to wear a skirt! It is funny to see the skirts girls have to wear with their uniform..I wore that kind when I was a little girl and my mum decided what to put on.

message 3019: by Kandice (new)

Kandice But, maybe trousers could be an option? I don;t think that in todays day and age they would require a skirt. Maybe blue or black slacks. Girls always seem to have to wear those sweet little shirts with the peter pan collars. I love those!!!

message 3020: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think they look too short, too. I also know men who actually fantasize about those uniforms!(GROSS!!!!!) I would rather my daughter wear trousers unless she could wear leggings underneath the skirts. She wears leggings underneath her skirts all the time anyway because she doesn't like to worry about "modesty".

message 3021: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments In the morning I am more wondering how they can be so relaxed while I am freezing with trousers, thick jumper, winter jacket......

message 3022: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments was he irish?:-)

going to read, than beddy and at 6.20 up for another day....

byyyyyyyeeeeee

message 3023: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My husband ALWAYS wears shorts. We go to New York to visit his family, and it will be freezing, and he'll have on shorts and a coat! Total goofball.

message 3024: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Nobody's here again!!!!!

message 3025: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I'm wearing pants...just FYI.

(since you said no one was here)

message 3026: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Haha!!! I flip back and forth to this site all day when I am working, but it seems when I take my lunch, and can really look at things...everyone is suddenly, otherwise entertained!
Is it cold where you are? To warrant the pants, I mean.

message 3027: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Well, I live in Kansas, and its actually not too bad today...like 40s I think? But yes...still definitely pants weather!

I flip back and forth all day too...except at lunch, because then I'm reading! haha.

message 3028: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Well, I did read 23 "O" pages when everyone was gone! 40-ish is freezing!!!! It's about 70 where I am.
Rach-Are you still liking those books? I read them a while ago, but I remember a horrible nickname the people from Abydos had. The Abbadabbas, right?

message 3029: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I know! That was really sad. I suspect series Daniel would have wanted a baby. That was hard to read, since I did read them after I started watching the series. I kept thinking "series O'Neill would, series Daniel wouldn't". I think you are SUPOOSED to think of the Flintstones. That why it's so mean.
If it's the grant for the slacker, I hope she doesn't get it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

message 3030: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "You know, pants means underwear here... so I'd be worried if you you were telling me if you weren't wearing pants..."

I'm wearing those too...no worries.

message 3031: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I thought knickers was panties or undies. Do you call the long legged things you wear on your legs trousers?

message 3032: by Kandice (new)

Kandice He is this incredibly handsome, sexy, hot, sweet, intelligent archaeologist in Stargate.

message 3033: by Kandice (new)

Kandice There's a movie and a television show. The movie Daniel is not so very sexy (well, not at all) but the show Daniel is to die for. He becomes increasingly so thorughout the series. Hubba Hubba!

message 3034: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I don;t know hwo to post a picture, but here's a link.

Guys that are super smart are always so much more attractive to me.

message 3035: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh wow! We picked the same picture Rach! Mine doesn't have an interview, but that was my favorite picture. Too weird!!!

message 3036: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Fiona-He doesn't look like he does a lot of fiddling!!!! He's not even perfectly shaved! I know what you mean, though. I like them to look a little "rough".

message 3037: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Much to his chagrin, my husband only has to shave about twice a week. Even when he needs to shavem his stubble is so soft, it hardly counts! My 16 year old has to shave his moustache everyday!!!

message 3038: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Mine too. Beard burn is pretty much un-fun. But usually worth it ;)

Now don't start kicking me off on some erotica group!

I'm a love sponge. I found out touch is my love language - that's a great book BTW, anyone read it?

The Five Love Languages How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate

He is a Christian author, but you don't have to be a Christian to appreciate what he has to say. He makes some terrific points. Plus, he does marriage counseling so he has some experience fixing broken relationships using these techniques.

I really recommend it.

message 3039: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Rachel have you told your loser boss to take this job and shove it yet???

I would like to see a little video clip of you doing that one day !

message 3040: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My girfriend swears by that book. There's one about how to express your love for your kids too. I have not read either, but she was reading me a passage from the kid love version that I really disagreed with! I do mean to read the mate one, though.

message 3041: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) It's a worthwhile read, Kandice. It really helped me thru a tough time in my marriage. My dau. and I have completely different love languages too, but I think she'll have to go away to college before she appreciates what she has here. Luckily, that's coming up here in August!

message 3042: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You girls that have already read "O", do you know if the other "O" thread is about the entire series? I kind of wanted to peek, but don't want to get super spoiled.

message 3043: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I am at work, stopped lunch sooner so I could come up here. team leader is on lunch too... It started snowing a lot again. You can't see a think outside because it si the snowy sky and everything is coovered white again. let's see when I will get home this evening. In dubling tey aren't sued to snow so the cars or don't move or I am going faster whe I am walking slow....
I guess I will finish Paris in April that way.
Okay another 3.5hours to work and then a shorter friday. see you all this eveining, hopefully.

message 3044: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What's TFC? Maybe I will wait until I am farther along. Honestly, it's just that, when I am at work, I can look on this site, not read my book, and I just want a little fix!
I have a really good friend on an upper floor in my building. He is vry, very gay, and he and I e-mail each other all day. He wants to read my book when I am finished, but wants me to highlight all the exciting Jamie parts! He's too lazy to read it all. There's a straight man we work with that has red hair. He has a crush on him, (I don't think he's at all attractive) and Joe is going to replace Jamie's name with his! I told him to get out of town. I am not a porn peddler!!! The fact that I have admitted to him how "exciting" those scenes are says volumes, though. Usually I bore him with sci-fi!

message 3045: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I saw a new post, and decided I WOULD NOT!!!! Yes, I am only going to lend him my book if he agrees to read it all! He will too, and then we can e-mail about it all day! I'm anxious to see what his take will be. Maybe I should just buy him his own copy and say it's a Valentine's gift. He has way more time to read, so he could, maybe, catch up.

message 3046: by Kandice (last edited Feb 05, 2009 07:53AM) (new)

Kandice *pats head*
I need to read the last Sookie book, so I can send the series (so far) to my mom. I also have a date to read ICTC *ahem* (did you forget?)and then...
I will probably want to read something in between each, but I am pretty sure I will want to read them all. I don't have the restraint to wait a long time in between, but one book will be a good break.

message 3047: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I just want to say I will be sorry when there are enough posts to go to another page. I LOVE seeing Shanks as I scroll down!!!!

message 3048: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I know! That's where I struggled with seeing Spader vs. Shanks. Whe he was being a s**t, I wanted to see Spader, but when he was being lovely... Shanks.
I think his picture on every page would be perfect.
Fiona-put a picture of someone YOU think is dreamy, so we'll have an idea.

message 3049: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Um, do you need a moment to yourself? lol.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona wrote: "Snow's all gone today, nothing, zilch in fact it was quite warm. Didn't stop the kids NOT going to school yesterday or the day before though and we barely had an inch of snow here. "

Were I work it is again completely covered with snow, cars barely move and you can't see a thing because it is like a white sky coming down.
I thought it would be pretty okay cincidering it snowed around 3 because it stoped. But at 3.30 it started again really heavy so I asked if for once i could leave a quarter soon. It did make a big change to leave at 4.30 in this weather. It is six and I am home! It was getting worse so probably would only have recently got a bus otherwise.

It isn't that bad here but the last 20-26 years people didn't get snow in Dublin they say. So all the people getting a car then have their first experience of driving in the snow...and it amkes them not move anymore. But it does look lovely and cold. Some parts look like a fairy tale..
