Ok, I'm not currently reading Outlander but that doesn't mean the thought of you flinging yourself into the rocks of Stonehenge doesn't crack me up!

Jessica | 1000 comments Fiona wrote: "What's it about? Benjamin Button? Doubt I'd see it - it has Brad Pitt in it doesn't it?"

I believe Benjamin Button is the story of a man who is born as an 80-year-old and lives life backwards.

message 2953: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's exactly what it's about. I don't to give anything away, but talk about a heart tugger. I have never been gaga over Pitt, but after that movie, I can see the appeal!!!

message 2954: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I know, and that's irritating. I just really liked him in that movie. He is a very good actor, I think his high-profile personal life is a detriment.

message 2955: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Fiona-I'm sorry to always pester you with my technical difficulties *smiles winningly*, but I can't seem to figure out how to update what page I am on in Outlander. I thought I had done it before, but... I know. I'm hopeless;)

message 2956: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What would I do without my GR mentor? My kids tease me all the time about my personal "tecnical difficulties", but I think it secretly pleases them to be able to help me. Thank you.

message 2957: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Where are you?

message 2958: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh. So it's just your family looking at you strangely! My kids do that all the time. I'll have a complete one sided conversation before I realize they can't hear me. Or, I will just look at them enjoying the music, oblivious to the outside world. I swear, I am so in love with those little people!!!

message 2959: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I only ever put in one earpieve, because I LOVE to talk, and don't want to miss any opportunities!!!

It snowed in Dublin!!!!!! Aparently, I have been told, they don't get snow here anymore. But this morning when I opened the door to go to work: white, so beautiful white. At work even more and it kept going. While I was working I saw outside, well you couldn't see much, it looked like a snow storm was passing. It is still snowing now. Luckily it didn't rain the last days. It is so beautiful. And the busses where even more on time with it!
Apparently, also been told, it didn't go too well for London.
Still snowing Fiona?

Fiona, two years ago it snowed a little little bit in the morning two days after each other and I had three cancelled trains, which meant an hour and a half waiting. Nothing worked! :-)

Emilee, to go to Stonehemge you can leave with a bus from London and visit it plus Salisbury all in one day and not too expensive. It is emprisive to stand at Stonehenge.

I didn't care for anything around me there, couldn't care about not being able to touch it...I jsut stood there watching it and thinking about it. It felt so weird and special. It is one of those things I find difficult to catch. Also believing that I am actually seeing it...it is like with the colloseum and would be like with the piramids in Egypt or the vesuvius in Italy. I always thought I would never see them for real....

I saw Salisbury when I visited Stoenhenge...it was a lovely sunny day, the cathedral was really beautiful, the town also..nice to stroll around and here aboutt he gosts.

Kandice Fiona-There is a restaraunt where you can fish and chips, and they put it in brown paper, salt it and shake it up. I like to put malt vinegar on it. It's supposed tobe about as close to English ones as you can get. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! I only eat the fish.

Kandice, I have that at work. As we practically never have to use the phone and are busy at the computer so many at work have earplugs ina dn lsiten to music. I just didn't realize and would wonder why they didn't answer .... suddenly they would notice I was standing next to me and i would see the earplugs being taken out...it always explained a lot!

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Kandice wrote: "I only ever put in one earpieve, because I LOVE to talk, and don't want to miss any opportunities!!!"

I also only put one in because you enver know something important makes noice. or like when I am walking tot he bus I want to hear the traffic around me. But when sitting in the room and read in the meantime I have both in. Just not really in public places or at work(just use it there before starting).

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments We still want to try out fish and chips in Dublin. I always pass a place where you can pick it up and it smells sometimes very good...once I will just go in.

message 2970: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oooh! I like the skin too! I thought almost no one else did. I know what you mean about just the right crunch. Not enough...blech, too oily. Too much and it falls all apart as you eat it. I love fried fish.

message 2971: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Jeane-Did oyu mean you listen to your headphones as you read? I could never do that! I hate when I am in the bedroom, and I can hear the living room t.v. I have a nature background noise thingy, and usually use that to mask the sounds of my home as I read in my room. (I'm not anti-social, I just like to immerse myself in my book fantasies)

message 2972: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments yes Kandice, I do. I used to study like that too. I do completely absorb in the book but in the mmeantime another part of my brains seem to register the music. Sometimes it is also to just not hear anything in the room and read, so then I don't concentrate on it.

message 2973: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I hate it too when I hear on the bus someone elses music. It os so loud that you ahve to realize!! i always ask my boyfriend if you can hear my music.

message 2974: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Last night my husband, his and my best friends, and I, went to a concert. Hinder, Motley Crue, and two bands I don't remember the names of. I think I am getting old! It was exciting to see them, because we loved them as teens, and Hinder sings ONE song I love, but it was SOOOOO loud! Also, they said the f-word every time they spoke, and there was glorified porn on the video screen. We were talking in the car on the way home (1:30 a.m.) and none of us remember it being that raunchy when we were younger!

I am definitely going to have to keep last night in mind when my kids ask to go to a concert. Maybe that's the norm now?

message 2975: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Yes, but I think what was raunchy when I was 17-25 is not so raunchy anymore!!!! Oh my God! It was crazy!!! Maybe I was just too excited by it at that age to really get it? I don't know anything, except I feel OLD today! And, I am TIRED!!!! I used to be able to do that stuff all the time. Maybe I need Geritol;)

message 2976: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) LOL...Rachel! Karma can sometimes be a b*tch!

I've always wanted to go see the Pyramids. Did you guys just go on your own? I think I would want to do a group tour or something.

message 2977: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Haha! Very funny! My throat hurts too (all that screaming) and I have tons of calls to make today. So how are the books going, Rachel?

message 2978: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Oh thanks for the link! I have to scrimp and save still for a vacation like that, but someday!

message 2979: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Rachel wrote: "Jackie, I would also recommend one of the Nile cruises. They are so much fun! But all of the belly dancers in Egypt are Russian! How weird is that?"

Really? That's funny. I know they have some huge festival...I forget what its called, but it's basically a Middle Eastern Dance conference. Hundreds of dance troupes go to show off their moves.

message 2980: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I missed all those Egypt posts!!!! Oh my goodness, Rachel, I am so, so jealous! Tell the truth, were you interested in Egypt because of SG? I was interested in Egypt forst, and i think that's why I loved the movie so much.

message 2981: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I want to go to EGYPT!!!!!! I don't think we'll ever be able to afford that, though!

message 2982: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Hush, Fiona! And bite your tongue while you're at it! I have all 3 Mummy movies! I watch them over and over. Just watched the original Thursday night. I think Brendan Fraser is so, so, so perfect. I know it's a goofy movie, but he's so charming in George of the Jungle!

message 2983: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Stop buying books?! LOL...look at who is talking!

message 2984: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's a pretty good supply of options, considering I had only crackers yesterday! I would think you're gonna freeze, though! I know it's cold where you are.
Fiona_the third wasn't exactly crap, but your right, without Weiz, it wasn't as good. I really disliked the lady that played Evie too! But, I can sit through almost crap to look at Brendan! *sighs*

message 2985: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) When you say banana chips do you mean the sweet ones or the plantain ones that have a little bit of salt and garlic on them? I love the plantain chips.

message 2986: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Little Red Riding Hood!

Have you ever had chocolate covered banana chips (the sweet ones)? They are to die for!

I like Granny Smith apples

The plantain chips sound terrific. I've never seen them.

message 2987: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Kandice, if your super market has a Goya aisle (usually the ethnic foods section) that's where they would be. I got my co-worker addicted to them and she's a health nut, so I guess they must not be too bad for you.

message 2988: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I forgot, you're not as fond of chocolate as some of us! The ones I really like are dark chocolate, so not so sweet.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments it keeps snowing in Dublin..and the cars practically don't move anymore, which means that the busses don't either. Ever stood for an hour in the snow waiting for a bus when you know that if the cars in front of you don't move, the bus can't come either? I was almost falling asleep of the cold. It was 2.5h to come back from work. People are completely not sued to drive in the snow here. And they stay so civilized, drive slow....funny to see. And wow how much snow falls in one time. Beautiful to watch the sky....but soooo hateful when you are waiting your bus.

message 2991: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I love cold weather, but hate to BE cold, so I really feel for you Jeane! I hope you are properly bundled!

Rachel-I think you have to pay so much for hte apples grown in your backyard, because they DO sell them to the whole country! That leaves a small amount to be sold there. My dad gripes about that all the time. I had forgotten about Pink Ladies. I never see them for sale here, but I do remember them from my dad's.

message 2992: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments It is the standing still that makes me feel frozen.

message 2993: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I think I am going to log off. Too tired and still cold. gonna read a little bit and then under my warm huge cover. Tomorrow I have like fice hours of training....of something I already use daily!!!!

message 2994: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I don't think a free meal is the idea! My bet is, that everyone will want that "free meal" and they will quit that crap fast!!!
The only free lunch on your birthday I'm aware of here is Denny's. Not so exciting!

message 2995: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Today, Dennys is/was offering a free Grand Slam breakfast 7-2...just for promotion. Interesting. I heard they were packed all over the place

message 2996: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Fiona-I just saw your post on that Spam thingy up top! You are the Ultimate Miss Sassy Pants! No one will ever de-throne you!!!

message 2997: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Of course it's a good thing! Girls should all be a little sassy! I tell my daughter that all the time. (just not to me)
I say Mr. Fancy Pants to my boys whenever they are dressed up.

My dau. went this AM, it was a 1 hour wait so they went to Panera instead.

Leave it to a teenager to go for the free food!

message 2999: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments My brother is a senior in high school and he was telling me stories about his friends who went to Denny's this morning and had to wait almost two hours for a table. I mean, I enjoy free stuff, but that's just too long of a wait!

message 3000: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Well, I guess it depends on who you are waiting with! I'd wait with Jamie from the big "O"!!!!!
