Fiona you need a heating pad for the neck! Relief. Or some Bengay. That is suppose to help. Do they have Bengay in Britian?

I have rootbeer here & rootbeer icecream. I'll send some via internet too you. You have never had a brown cow (rootbeer float) I am guessing? That is vanilla ice cream with rootbeer. Very yummy.

Fiona: My daughter checked out a Diana Wynne Jones book I can't remember which one but she really liked it.

Yeah! I'm glad your here.

I'll ask her when she gets home. I can't remember. I will have to buy a few of her books.

I am so trying not to buy any. I really really need to read a bunch more books before I buy anymore.

message 2856: by [deleted user] (new)

Secret Life of Bees comes out on DVD on Tuesday. Should I buy it. I really liked the movie but the book was so much better!

message 2857: by [deleted user] (new)

I so am craving a brown cow right now. I just am too lazy to get up! isn't that sad?

message 2858: by [deleted user] (new)

I actually took my dau for her B-day to B&N they were having a sale-I bought 3 books for myself. This was about 1 week ago. I have no self control.

message 2859: by [deleted user] (new)

The fridge is at the top of the stairs. I just can't make it. Dang I am lazy!

Actually it's probably good because we had pot luck at work today and everyone brought junk food. So I have eaten dougnuts, brownies, chips, salsa, cake, cookies I think I need to run around the block 100 times to get rid of all the calories I ate today.

Oh yeah, won't happen. It's a big 5 degrees outside. My dogs don't even want to go out to do there thing.

message 2860: by [deleted user] (new)

okay I am giving in. Must have junk food!

Jessica | 1000 comments I just finished with the 175 comments I had to catch up on!

In response to the talk about make-up, I rarely wear it on my days off from work but if I'm going to work or out somewhere specific, I need to have it on. I just wear foundation, a little blush, brown eyeshadow and black or brown eyeliner.

And those bar shampoos look fun! I want some now.

My way to survive and not get crazy, angry, sad ....is:
never wash my hair before going to work and never wash it if I don't have at least 4-5 hours before going to bed. otherwise it goes all directions and I have double*3 times the volume.

let it dry a bit and put on a bandana that covers all my hair.

well and some other tricks.

I also hate going to the hair dresser ebcause I don't have long hair, not traditional or more common hair and so on so every single time I went to the hair dresser I came back unhappy, sad and would cry. Go under the shower and wash out all traces of it. When I was still in belgium i would also wear constantly a bandana afterwards because they always cut it too short thanks to the advice of my parents) and I would look like a boy.
So the biggest reason, besides that I don't like my hair at all, for having a cap or bandana on my head on most of the pictures with me on it is that my hair made me unhappy and cry. At least me or nobody else would see it and it gave me a better feeling ahving a bandana on. Even know when rarely i put one on to go to the centre for instance, it makes me feel more energetic, more secure about myself....

Peope always think I make my eyelashes long but I don't they are like that. And they don't believe me if I tell them that I don't even know how to make them long and with what. Don't make me go to a shop to buy make up stuff, I have almost zero knowledge.
And to be honest, I can't make myself feel interested. It jsut seems so pointless or wasting....don't know. i am me and with make up I feel like I pretend to be someone else.

esther, till last year I had never had a bag, I mean one to put over your shoulder.... I didn't use them and if I needed something I would use my trecking rugsack. I am a rugsack person. last year I saw a very nice one in Florence, very simple cotton, black with a white Vespa design on it. I really wanted it but my boyfriend knew me so well when he asked if I was also going to use it. So I decided not to buy it but he liked it too. so I promised i would try.
And I do use it every day almost....when I go to work and put some more elegant clothes on....:-) I think I will never be a ladies bag girl.

Fiona, I always notice and I don't know how it comes but you are often writing my thoughts about something. For isntance your comment about the belt..well my boyfriend knows it is a problem finding one for me. First of all, I never used to wear one. The only use I thought it had was to keep your jeans up. But when I need something to keep my jeans up then it is time to wear a smaller size as I also don't like them on my if they get baggy because they are too big. secondly I hate belts because I always forget about it when I have to go to the toilet and then i get annoyed I have to open it first!
Now I wear one since it was included in the price twice with different pants. But I would never have thought it could be so difficult finding a simple belt! I jsut want a completely simple brown or black belt with nothing written on it, nothing stucked on it, no decoration nothing! But only find one in like a whole year!!!!!! I often have a problem finding clothes or related things and my boyfriend made me realize (thanks to his same answer always on my question what he thinks of a piece of clothing I am trying on) that it is because I want simple, normal clothes. I want a t-shirt..what do I find t-shirts with glitter on, writing that are shouting or stupid, images....I jsut want a plain and normal t-shirt, pair of jeans, whatever....... And shoes!!!!! Ones I was on a shoe shop and the woman working there asked if she could help me. I was so fed up after my couple of months search for a pair of shoes that i answer: yes I am looking for shoes! I don't want all those girly, woman shoes. Just a pair of normal catterpilars would be great. But I never find them when I want to (at least I didn't when I was in belgium) or they only have them in the men section.

fiona, my other less casual bag is a kipling. Well it si quite casual but less than th eothers I have. It is for over your shoulders but it also goes compeltely over your head. It is very handy, and different parts to put stuff away. My other blag back, the one that for me is more elegant is actually very simple. It only goes over your shoulder (and I am still learning and getting used to it falling off constantly and having to hold it up). But it is just black cotton with a vespa on it and that is it. I also have one of those you can keep in front or on your back, love it and so handy.

I think it didn't do much to me after hundred pages.... You know I was wondering if that was one of the many reasons, besides the big one that I jsut couldn't get into it and it jsut went on and on without any change in the dulness...but whenever I thought about killing wales it made angryness coming up...

I am jsut wondering about it...signed a contract with how much I earn in a year. I work in ireland but the payroll office is in England, so they let me know how much I will get on my account but in pound. ...I am wondering if it is correct because putting it in euros and then watch for a year I am not even near to it. So know I am wondering how much in euros they will put on my account. Not that I wouldn't be okay with what I get in pound but I signed for more...will find out next week. But at least it will normally be on my account monday. My team leader became blushy when i thanked him for helping. He said it is only normal I get my money immediately. But when I thanked him for his help after that other people hadn't done their work he became so humble and shy, blushy...hehe

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I don't mind brands but I am not buying them for the brand but because I saw it and liked it.

I know Ecco. Once i stopped because i saw shoes I liked in their window but then noticed a little British flag on it and well you can guess it but that was the end of it.

I seem to like the clothes I get as presents from my boyfriend's family. i know they do a big effort to adapt to my simple but difficult style and msot of the time they surprise me with their presents if it are clothes. But after trying it on it never looks that bad like I thought a second before and after maybe ones or twice I really like it.

Kandice Jeane-I am SOOOO glad you are getting your pay! Next order of business-figure out the rate of conversion! You don't want to be short. As far as that blushing...could there be a crush in the works? They a can be harmless but very nice for the ego!!!

I like to wear bandanas on my hair too! My husband says it's very 70's, but I just think it's very easy.

The only bags I like are Dooney and Bourke. They are pricey, and I don't like the girly, fancy ones. I like the letter carriers or shopper bags. They have a pouch my cell phone and a leash for my keys and pockets to keep things separate. I have only a couple, but like I said they are pricey, and I am quite a bit older than you girls, so have had a longer time to collect them.
Thank you for permission to start Outlnder. I really planned on waiting, but...no willpower.
Why was Fiona supposed to know what to think because of the British Flag?

I didn't have much choice I needed the job. And they didn't have a point we were selling expensive clothes - the customers expected a certain standard of appearance.
And I'm talking about England in the late 1980s. In those days everyone had a dress code. I was just used to it. When I worked as a cashier no make up at all was allowed, there was a very strict dress code and their uniform was very unattractive.

Also I had just spent 6 years slouching round school in jeans and my father's baggy sweaters.
And at 18 I was quite pleased to have the money and the opportunity to dress up in short skirts, tight little angora sweaters and cute shoes.
I wasn't a big rebel and I was used to people constantly telling me what to do.

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments Once I moved to a hot country I had to start carrying a handbag as summer clothes just don't have big enough pockets for purse, keys, a cell phone and the compulsory just-in-case-I-get-bored book.
My shoulders are too round for shoulder bags and when I leant down to my children the bag would slip off my should and boff them in the head. Ouch!
One of the first nappy bags I had was a back pack. It was great.
A couple of years ago a good friend laughed at how big my bag was - it was a students bag and you could fit an A4 size folder in it easily -so I bought a smaller more elegant bag, though still a back pack.
Problem is I have a large purse,a book and in the summer a bottle of water. Soon I was having to carry an extra bag for the overflow.
Now I'm back to a canvas back pack which is bigger than my children's school back pack and has a separate pocket big enough for my book and side nets for drinks bottles.
