Laura, I haven't heard back about the job yet but it's only been two days since the interview so I'm still hoping.
My mother brings me chocolate digestives and hobnobs whenever she takes trip to the UK. It is the one thing I haven't learned to live without. She prefers the non-choc.
I love to dip them in my tea (Strong English Breakfast - milk, no sugar) until the chocolate is half melted but the biscuits is still firm. Yummmmm!
edit: Sorry forgot to introduce myself. I'm new to this thread but couldn't resist digestives :0)
Kandice wrote: "I juat read the summary/synopsis of Outlander (in preapration) and this was in there:— Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser—. Why are the symbols and numbers by their name? Is that a normal ..."kandice noticed those too. have been changing some...
Fiona wrote: "Biscuits are cookies, but better! And I think digestives are good for the digestion. They're yummy when dunked in tea.Hobnobs are made out of oats and they're delicious. And full of fibre and goo..."
i keep it easy. because of a mix up of languages I call the same thing cookies and biscuits!!! :-) Well, it si both to eat and bothe the same gene of things...soooo. I bought simple digestive biscuits/cookies since i am in Ireland. they are so simple and I like them. Stuf is too special and mixed up these days.
Fiona wrote: "I like bread and butter pudding. Not sure if I've had bread pudding, or if it the same. But either way I probably love both. I love most kind of pudding. Yumm!

bread pudding, sin'tthat the one where they use old bread?
Oh, watch the books I am reading!!!!! See something??????? No? Good!!!!!! There is no more Moby Dick!!!!!!!! Yes I finished it:-) I had twenty pages or so that were interesting but had to get through 550 other ones before!
No, Sorbet here is just fruit puree'd and then frozen-super yummy! Sherbet has sugar and isn't good for you, but...Fiona-I am eating honey peanut butter "biscuits" as I type. They are excellent!
Jeane-You are supposed to use old bread, but we never seem to have bread long enough for it to get old!!! I usually make bread every couple of days, plus I buy lots. Our family could NEVER count carbs. We don't usually put sauce on it, but sometimes I do make it.
I love the stix with lick-a-stx, but not the sugar. I have been known to throw the 3 pack of sugar away just to eat the 2 stix you get!
Hello Esther:)
My daughters soccer team last year was The Pixie Kicks. My husband bought 5 cases of pixie sticks so we could give one to each player after every game. I was pixie-sticked out!!!!How low is the bin, that you put your foot IN it?
Our house is very old, so the closets are ridiculously small. I have things in boxes under my bed, and in my sons closet as his bedroom is an addition we did so he has a proper closet. We don't even have a coat closet. Were people long ago hot pygmies, that their clothes fit in these tiny excuses for closets?
Fiona wrote: "...Sherbet dip is sherbet (usually flabourted) and you dip a lolipop into it and lick the sherbet off!..."That's like the Sherbet dib-dab from my childhood. I don't like boiled sugar sweets or lollipops so I prefer the Sherbet Fountain - a small cardboard tube filled with sherbet with a hollow stick of liquorice sticking out the top. You were supposed to suck the sherbet up the liquorice tube but the moisture soon caused the sherbet to get stuck in the liquorice, So I'd eat the liqourice and pour the sherbet straight into my mouth!
Kandice wrote: "Do you put your laundry away, or drape it on whatever sturdy object you can find?"I do put my laundry away but it has normally been hanging around for a few days. I like doing laundry but who has the time when there is the internet and books still unexplored.
Dusting and cleaning windows are my least favourite chores - I haven't done them for several years
Fiona wrote: "Jeane wrote: "Oh, watch the books I am reading!!!!! See something??????? No? Good!!!!!! There is no more Moby Dick!!!!!!!! Yes I finished it:-) I had twenty pages or so that were interesting but ha..."Fioooona, I forgot about them. I used to have them when going to school!!!!! Bad but good!!!
Fiona, you know I would have wondered about it for ever!
damned, i really feel like having one of those very unheakthy, sugar things that I will see over and over again, thanks to Fiona!!!!Do you know this? Little bag with little ....things inside. when you let them go in your mouth they start to make noise and I think in the end you can get it as chewing gum in your mouth.....
don't really know how to explain it but used to have them a lot when I was a kid.
Friday!!!!!!! Today was my 'worst' day at work for now. Had so much to do, like veryone else, but as I am new I didn't menage it without help. My team leader helps me, but he constantly has to go to people, meetings...so we would start on something, then he would be gone for half an hour at least.... this evening I left later just because of stupid Excell!!!!! I copied numbers out of a fax....but this is what they looked lik:6.235,10-
and they should be like:
-6,235.10
okay, you could change a whole lsit to how they have to be, but first of all too much work and it doesn't always accept it when I put it in the document that is the end document.
I tried all kinds of things(not that experienced in Excell), someone in the end on her way out tried to do it but it didn't work.....team leader was busy with all kind of things and what he did didn't work.....arrrrghhhhhh. I got so frustrated because it was such a little stupid thing and i didn't manage to do it and because of that I couldn't do the rest. it makes me feel frustrated and sad when I need other people their help and have to rely on them...because many times it means that I have to wait for them...... pfffffff, a nice warm cup of tea and TNBBC did help...
I like Pop Rocks too. Maybe Jeane is referring ot that Razzle gum stuff? It fizzes a bit before it really gets to be gum.
Jeane-I meant to say, I bet they don't mind helping you. Obviously because you don't like asking for help, you will work hard to do it yourself. That ALWAYS gets noticed at work. Hang in there! :)
Yep! I like those too! I like chocolate, but mostly, I prefer sugary candy. Non-fat kind. Not because it's non-fat, it just works out that way. My absolute, forever, all time favorite is Violet mints by Choward's.
I like strawberry frosted poptarts. Right as they come out of the toaster, quickly eat all around the edges, and then slide the two halves off each other. Yummy!!!!!!
I tend to eat the edges of things first, I do it with Reese's peanut butter cups too. And I usually eat the crust/edges of sandwiches first and then eat the middle.
Rachel is the weird one! The edges are the best AND have the most calories because they soak up all the oil!My other favorite flavor is icecream sundae! It's chocolate pastry with a marshamllow flavored middle, iced and then sprinkled with jimmies. Oh! I want one!
I also like them toasted until the edges are BROWN, not just warmed!
Jessica - I eat just the same. Crusts first, pop tart edges first, and Reese's edges first. AND if I have a plate of spaghetti, I eat from the edges, turning the plate as I go....It's fun to be crazy.
Kandice - I think I'll have the audio of OUtlander Monday, and the book prob. by the end of next week. So I could prob. start Monday night if you want. I know Heather wants to read it too, but I think she may already have it.
Rachel - I love the centers of brownies. They're the best!!
Fiona - remind me about the nerds when I send your mom's bookmark, I'll throw them in. WHat's your favorite flavor?
Jeane - Better luck on MOnday w/your job. Keep pressing on, you'll get it.
Laura, I'm glad I'm not the only crazy one with the edges. I don't do the spaghetti thing but I do eat burgers like that turning it as I go until just the little bit of the middle is left. I think I do this because for the most part the middle part of the food is the best part and I like to save the best for last!
I eat hamburgers and sandwiches 'round and 'round too! It is not weird! It's sensible.Fiona-They are the absolute best! Sundae poptarts! They are super sticky and the filling tends to get VERY hot. Hotter than the fruit ones. I love them. Have you ever had a Nerd Rope? It's multicolored (and flavored) nerds on a twisted center piece. It's a foot long and my kids love them! I, of ocurse hate them, because the nerds tend to fall off as you eat them....
Sorry! Cheeky! I thin they mean the same thing. Babies are always "fat and sassy". That's the best kind. It means you want what you want and you expect to get it. Damn it!!!!
Kandice wrote: "I like Pop Rocks too. Maybe Jeane is referring ot that Razzle gum stuff? It fizzes a bit before it really gets to be gum."Kandice, it might be that one. Couldn't find the word to say it fizzes...
Kandice wrote: "Jeane-I meant to say, I bet they don't mind helping you. Obviously because you don't like asking for help, you will work hard to do it yourself. That ALWAYS gets noticed at work. Hang in there! :)"I know, but when you know it should ahve been done two days ago, you are only finishing your thirth week, there are only a couple of hours left efore we finish working for the week and of course every body is also very busy and you are stucked because of a little thing like coma's and points in excell!!!! aaargggggggggggggggh.
Fiona wrote: "Lol, I eat the middle of the sandwich, leave the crusts for a bit and then eat them if I'm still peckish."The sister of my boyfriend (and they are italian!)starts cutting her pizza in the middle. I mean she starts eating it from there. Then there is a wole in the middle and every time she cuts a pieace the bigger the hole. So much easier and nicer to cut slices and eat them like that.
Less than two hours and the libraru opens!!!! Thanks to the storm last weekend it has been two weeks since i couldn't go! I even took my books with me to work so I could go after work on the day it is open till eight...but then my bus was delayed for 35 minutes!!!!!
How can they name a shop across the Luas stop (tram stop) two minutes fom my work, 'Readers' and have nothing to do woth books.....it is a printing shop. And twice a day I am reminded of it!!!
You know how some people prepare their trip to the supermarket by watching what they need, walking through the house to check what they are out of and so and then make a list...I mean completely plan it. Well, I do that before going to the library. I mean since TNBBC winter challenge i am planning my trip. I was sitting ehre with my paper, writing titles down, several options and so on.... if anybody would see me.....
You really need to look for the Sundae ones! If you can't find them get someone to send you some. I would! I do wish you would try the "weird" way I eat them. So much yummier!
Kandice wrote: "I want Digestive Biscuits!!!!! "I jsut ate digestive biscuits and had a cup of tea!!! Funny but since I bought digestive biscuits my boyfriend is always wanting them!!!!
gonna eat tortellini with ricotta and spinach...njamie....and they come from Italy...it is funny but I don't eat spinach, as long as i don't taste it. Once I tried and had to spit it out or I would have vomit it out.
Food exchange! That's a great idea! I had a hard time getting my English sister in law to explain to me what digestive biscuits are. I'd love to try some. As long as they're a bit sweet.hee hee
I got pop tarts once when a local supermarket had American week. They were fun.I couldn't eat them now anyway - my toaster is busted and I burn everything under the grill.
We can't get digestives here either, except occasionally in Ikea, so I found a recipe. Not exactly the same but not bad.
We do get Pop Rocks chocolate though. My kids hate it which just means more for me :0)
I also love those rice paper flying saucers filled with sherbet that melt in your mouth.
A friend with an American boyfriend introduced me to Reese's peanut cups. Yummy
Fiona wrote: "Those flying saucers - I never knew whether or not I liked them. Part of me didn't, part of me did. I think I liked the paper but didn't like getting to the sherbet."Fiona, I am so weak when flying saucers are around. We have boxes of hundred in belgium and...you know I am not a sweets person but..... I eat them without realizing and I can eat hundred in an hour withour noticing.

I think I would like hobnobs. "
Oh! And I can make Yorkshire pudding! I learned as a kid. It's really like bread, though, not pudding.
