Kandice That's okay, I got you off Fiona's list I think! LOL

Oh! and thanks, Fiona. I haven't logged on there yet, but will on my lunch:)

Looks like Bobo has crazy time on their hands. I saw the feedback group- 6 pages worth of spam repeating the same message.

Jackie (thenightowl) An an ideal world that would be nice. I saw the discussion on him/her. Someone said you can change your IP address, which I didn't know. That's kind of scary when you think about it.

message 6954: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't find Bobo. I just keep finding complaints about him. What thread is he in?

message 6955: by [deleted user] (new)

See I keep missing him! All the fun happens when I'm at work!

message 6956: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know how to change an IP address but I do know that your server changes your IP address every 6-10 days for security reasons. He would still be on the same server unless he is changing internet service.

message 6957: by [deleted user] (new)

I keep missing him as well... *sighs* work sucks...

message 6958: by [deleted user] (new)

I wish I could get paid to goof off on the computer & read all day but nothing seems to pan our for me.

message 6959: by [deleted user] (new)

Same here... I was just telling my sister-in-law earlier today that I wish I could be a website engineer or something along those lines where I could stay home and goof off on the internet all day... that would be the best.

message 6960: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry didn't mean to use your words "goof off". Just re-read my post and yours and saw it on both... oopsie. :)

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments Happy Easter and Happy Passover to thoese who celebrate and Happy Spring to those who don't!

Here there is no bunnies, no chicks, no even an especially large amount of chocolate.

Though we do use a ridiculously inflated amount of eggs making all the kosher for Passover goodies.

I do miss Cadbury's Creme Eggs, though

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Let me know, i will come and show the bookshops, the war memorials and places where important things happened, mainly during WWI. Where i live there is the region of the flanders field. I live half an hour from Ieper(Ipres).
They are also the bunkers in Ostend, there is a small forest nearby where they fought, many war graves....

message 6970: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments :-)
yes in dutch it is written ieper, in french Ipres.
You might like Ostend. It is at the seaside but it always give me a winter, desert feeling which I like about the sea. there is also the port and if you leave the centre and pass the dunes and at the other side the north sea it always makes me think about the time when they prepared themselves with thebunkers for the atlantik wall. there is the museum in the dunes and you can visit the bunkers.

I find it a bit creepy knowing that maybe you were walking around there when I was. It was beginning 2007 or end 2008, rainy day (I know it is england) during the week....:-) I think it was some bank holiday but maybe that was just in belgium...

I love Belgian chocolate. We used to visit Bruxelles quite a lot when I was little so got spoilt - Roses or Quality Street never quite gave me the same thrill :0)
But creme eggs are so totally sticky and artificial they're in a class of their own!

Oostend I only know from the train station of the boat train (we always went to Belgium by train).

message 6975: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments It is a cute little sea city with a nice centre with shops, nice places to eat lunch, dinner, ice cream, pancakes....there are museums, the port, sea side...nice.
I will have to send belgian chocolate over the world!!!

Here in Israel we have Max Brenner. They have got a bit fancy since they went international but the chocolate is still great.

Esther, I don't know if this is an authentic thing, but I make this challah bread. I braid it in a ring and then insert colored eggs in the braids. I give them as gifts to some of the older people at church. I was told it was a Jewsih recipe. Have you heard of it?

Challah is the bread we, Jews, bake every Friday to make the blessing on for our Sabbath meal.
It is an ordinary egg enriched bread recipe and it is traditional to braid it - though many non-Europeans don't. My aunt, the Algerian side, just makes several half-baguette-shaped loaves for her large family.
There are no Jewish traditions with bread for spring -time because it coincides with Passover - a leaven-free zone.
But putting whole eggs in the bread sounds like an Algerian tradition my father tells me of where they made bread rolls, like a bagel with no hole, with a whole egg snuggled in the middle. They made them before Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and gave one to each child to break the fast.

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments Yesterday we went to the Mall. It was less crowded than I expected considering the holiday and we found parking relatively easily.

My daughter spent tokens she got for her birthday and bought some fancy shorts and trousers in one of the ultra fashionable chains. It is such fun helping my daughter shop when it is not my money she is spending :0)

My Dad kindly replaced the necklace that I was so devastated to lose a couple of weeks ago.

And then we bumped into the new Max Brenner stall! They had all kinds of chocolate in tins and holiday baskets but what caught our eye was the chocolate fountain YUM!!
I bought a syringe full for each kid and it made very satisfactory end to the day.

Dionisia (therabidreader) | 332 comments I found an opened package of peeps in the cabinet. I guess once the air hits them the marshmallows become stale. The odd thing is I'm realizing that I actually like these stale, sugar-crusted peeps. I'm wondering if I'm the only person who would prefer a stale product to a fresh one.

Nope. I LOVE stale peeps, and always put a hole in a few packages to save for later:)

I was contemplating if I should go introduce myself in the newbe corner. I never did it when I joined this group. It worries me to think that someone might not notice me?

message 6994: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I never introduced myself either. I was embarassed and didn't know what to say. It worries me too, because that's where I found Rach, and I usually don't look at them very often. Just that one day...I was feeling frisky!

Peeps are especially good if you put them in the microwave for ten seconds... just long enough to make them warm and gooey!!!

Glad to be of assistance. I was listening to the radio the other day and they had a random fact that if you put a peep in the microwave for 12 seconds, it will blow up... I didn't want to have to clean my microwave so I decided to do it for 10 seconds and it was SOOOO YUMMY!!!
